Um, Renard? Is my new crush.
Spoiler alert >>I loved how they played the kiss. You knew it was him, but still...nice camera work. And Nick! Choosing his inner Grimm over his inner cop! Yikes! I loved the moment where Rosalie hugged Mama Grimm, and then she and Monroe argued over whether Mama Grimm smiled. Yes, I'd totally watch a spinoff with them! It's like Angel, only grown up! |

I am going to enjoy having Hank in on the secret. Terrific episode too.

Yeah, I liked the way they let Hank in on the secret and how he reacted to it.
It was also nice to see Mark Pellegrino not play a bad guy

Brilliant move NBC, promote the move back to Friday on 9/28 and totally forget to mention that there's one more episode on (next) Monday night!
I really enjoyed this episode, I liked the additional mystery we got about Renard. What game is he playing? He's going up against the families (not just his own). So, he's protecting Nick and the key but for what purpose? This show is doing the Renard reveal in a good way (so far) giving enough information to keep me interested and wondering but not dragging it out in such a way that I get frustrated or worse, bored. I liked the romance of Monroe and Rosalee, I'm glad we're getting to see that play out from the beginning, they're adorable together. I'm also enjoying the addition of Hank to the Scooby Gang. I'm glad that Monroe mentioned how they first "met" and I like how Hank is handling everything. I like fact that Juliette is trying to figure everything out in her own way. It seems very methodical which would fit with a Doctor (IMO). She goes through the pictures, then his clothes, even trying to use her sense of smell to kick start a memory. Then when she has a memory that obviously involves Nick but she can't fit him in the picture she does research. Also, that whole bit was perfection, the ceiling cat was very creepy.

I still wonder if Renard is thinking Nick is an old-style 'kill'em all' Grimm, and is protecting him 'cause he thinks that Nick can be turned loose on his families when the time comes. If he thinks that, Renard may be of the evil variety. If he knows Nick isn't killing randomly like other Grimms did, then he may be a good guy. It's one of the better 'is he good or bad' stories I've seen. But I hope they don't drag this thing with the cab-stealing killer out too long.
I like everything about Monroe and Rosalee. Still want the spin-off. And the cat thing was awesome; I laughed heartily. Trivia note: the guy who wrote the episode is the same guy who was supposed to have replaced Greenwalt as co-exec producer on Angel. It's the circle of life in Hollywood.

Finally watched episode 2.1 on Hulu. I was behind in my queue because of things I was doing in August.
When Nick went to show his mom the coins, even though she was his mom, I was shouting at the screen, "Don't do it!" Also, I don't like the new opening credits.

Not a mistake, apparently. NBC pulled Grimm next Monday to air the pilot episode for The New Normal.

Finished watching on my Hulu queue last night, and I'm loving the development with Hank.
I like James Frain on the show, too, even though his part is small. Maybe the network liked him on the Cape and kept him around. Maybe it's coincidence. I want to know how Renard has kept emotional control so long so Nick hasn't picked up his wesen-ness. Maybe he can only do that with full wesen. To any French speakers, how does Renard's French sound? It sounded like continental French to me and not Quebecois, but I don't claim to be an expert.

I don't speak French either, but my Montreal born and raised grandmother did, and to me Renard sounded like she did. Lo and behold, google tells me Sasha Roiz was born in Tel Aviv, but was raised in Montreal. But I join you in not claiming to be an expert.

I do believe that's the first time I really didn't care what Monroe and Rosalee were up to.

I've really enjoyed these last few episodes, I like having Hank in the fold, he's pretty cool and I like the developing Hank/Monroe friendship.

Egad! The show doesn't return until March? Who authorized this?

I have to wait until March?! That is not at all satisfactory.
