Hopefully the show will last long enough for CC to make an appearance.

I think the only thing working in its favor is the impending Writer's Guild strike.

There's nothing to replace it with.

I haven't seen last night's episode, but I have noted a number of people saying it was much better than the pilot. Titus actually cut loose with the funny, I hear. The show did hemorrhage its lead-in, but I'm seeing more worry over ER's scary-bad performance.
Truth is, I probably wouldn't watch this show even for (just) Christopher Titus, but I do hope it stays on until CC and Rob Thomas have a chance to make some rain there.

When DO Rob Thomas' episodes begin to air?
For some reason I think that if it stays on the air long enough, there COULD be a turnaround for the show when the SECOND of CC and Rob Thomas' eps hit because if the first ep creates enough buzz, the second is where everyone who is willing to give it a second chance will pop in to take a peek. Honestly, I still liked the show last night. Karl and his mistress fighting over his wife is hilarious to me for some reason and Brody is just an all around problem solver except when it comes to him and Janelle. I think we need a little more sexy going on with James and a little less sleaze with Duncan. Paul Blackthorne was a welcome addition but I want him to have more meat to dig into. Introducing the sister Duncan rear ended might be a start, heh. ::Waves to Penny:: How ya doin?! I'm ALWAYS lurking on the boards. Old habits die hard and I'm a CC fan forever |

Since TiVo insisted, (really; I never told TiVo to record it), I watched the pilot it had thoughtfully recorded for me. It wasn't the worst thing I'd ever seen, but I think it truly is mediocre. Diaglog, characterization, situations; nothing seems to flow. Maybe Rob Thomas can make it better, but it looks to me like he's got his work cut out for him. Good luck with it, I say. The first of the RT episodes should be up the week after next, if I recall when he was hired correctly. Jason Katims' episode should be right around CC's first appearance.
But I am pleased some folks like it; maybe there's hope yet.

It was ok last night, I'm getting a little more interested. But I'm still waiting for CC.

I watched the last 20 minutes of the show on Thursday after class. I thought it was pretty entertaining. I am waiting for CC to make an appearance.

We have a name for the sixth episode (and CC's first): "Car Trouble." ABC should have a summary posted on Monday.

FYI, the November 1 episode does mark the first appearance of Elisabeth Röhm. ETA: Actually, the My Take column says CC's first appearance is now Episode 8, so that will be more like November 15. No title yet for that one. My bad!

Me too. They seem to be accelerating the McDermott and Vartan storylines for the beginning of sweeps, with the "trouble with the first wife" and "throw tail at the newly divorcing watery-eyed guy from Alias" action. I kinda think... (for the sake of politeness) --->if CC is playing who everyone seems to think she's playing, they will drop the Janelle-shell before the show breaks for Thanksgiving as a kind of cliffhanger.<---

*bink*
Just read that in Episode 7, "Who's Your Daddy?" ... --->"Brody's father-in-law pays the guys a visit and rubs them all the wrong way." Again, if CC has indeed been cast as Janelle, it could be interesting to see what they do with her TV father in the episode before her first appearance.<---
