INT. HOTEL LOBBY-DAY

Cordelia is in the lobby. She stands over his box and seems to be concentrating really hard.

CORDY
Glow damn you, glow.

FRED
Whatcha doing?

CORDY
I’m cleansing Angel.

Fred looks at her weirdly.

FRED
Shouldn’t that be a private thing?

CORDY
His soul Fred, I’m cleansing his soul so
He won’t be so argh.

FRED
Oh. Will that work?

CORDY
Haven’t a clue, but so far we’re batting zero and I
Don’t have any other ideas so,

FRED
Couldn’t hurt to try?

CORDY
Actually it could hurt a lot to try. I haven’t got a clue
What I’m doing and there’s no pages on the web
That tell you how to delouse a Vampire’s soul
So……

FRED
Have you tried reading the books?

CORDY
You try reading the books! It’s like they’re in a different language.

FRED
That’s because they are, Aramaic, Latin, Hebrew.

CORDY
Yeah, but even the English ones don’t make much sense,.
So I’m trying this instead.

FRED
Oh cool.

A long beat. Cordy’s hand is reaching out to the box Angel is in. Nothing is working.

FRED
Are ya doing it yet?

CORDY
Doing what?

FRED
Whatever it is your doing.

Cordelia pauses, letting what was just said sink in. Then.

CORDY
No Fred.
(beat)
So where’s Gunn?

FRED
There’s a Nest in Santa Monica so he’s gone
To take care of it.

CORDY
Why didn’t you go with him?

FRED
Because I’d very much like to be alive.

CORDY
(smiling)
And we want you alive.

Fred smiles at this.

CORDY
So, you and Gunn, Gunn and You, huh? How;s it
Going?

FRED
It’s going Great. Charles is so great you know? It’s like,
When you finally meet the love of your life, the epic
One. The one you we’re destined to fall in love with and
No matter where you went, or what you did, somehow
You two were always’s going to end up together.

Cordelia smiles, happy for Fred, but also feeling alittle sad.

FRED
It’s like out of a fairytale or something. Your knight in shining
Armour who comes and rescues you, you know?

CORDY
Yeah, unfortunately my knight in shining armour is
Locked in a box.

FRED
Oh right. Maybe you should try the cleansing thing again?

CORDY
Maybe I should.

Cordelia puts her hand up to the box. She watches as her hand starts to glow slightly. She grins

CORDY
Oh thank you, thank you.

The light continues to travel down her body, and starts to move over the box. The boxes inside
And outside is now beaming with light.

CORDY
Oh, this feels kinda funny.
(beat)
because I’m having a vision.

At that moment, WILD SPARKS shoot off from where Cordy is standing and she is thrown
Across the room. She is no longer glowing, but the box is.The light bursts out from the space
Between the bars, then dims to nothingness.

Fred quickly makes her way towards Cordy, who isn’t moving. Her eye’s are closed. She lays
Perfectly still.

FRED
Cordy? Cordy? Are you okay?

A sound is heard. Fred looks up to see the doors thrown open, and a figure standing.

IT’S LORNE

LORNE
Hello kittens. The bitch is back. Anything interesting happen
While I was away?

CREDITS

Cordelia lies on the ground. Fred and Lorne are huddled around her.

FRED
What happen to her? Is she okay?
It must have been the cleansing thing.
Or the vision.

LORNE
I think it was both.

Fred looks at Lorne, desperate for Answers.

LORNE
We’ll if she was using one of her demon powers the
Same time she was having a vision, there’s a good
Chance they could have short-circuted each
Other out.

FRED
Is she going to be okay?

Lorne looks at Fred, and takes a little too long to answer.

LORNE
She’ll be fine Fred, I promise, I’ll make her fine.

FRED
What about him?

Fred and Lorne look at Angel’s box. No sound and movement is coming from it.

LORNE
One crisis at a Time Fred, for now, just don’t go near him, okay?

Lorne grabs Cordy up in her arms and starts to take her up to one of the bedrooms.

LORNE
(shouting)
And it might be a good idea to call Gunn. Where is he?

CUT TO:

INT. PARKING GARAGE-DAY

GUNN
Don’t talk to me right now !

REGAN
Dude, we’re surrounded.

GUNN
I do have eyes.

REGAN
Until these Vamps tear them out of your sockets.

GUNN
I’m walking away from this. Just you watch.

A vampire lunges at Regan, He punches it hard a couple of times, throws it to the ground and then stakes it.

GUNN
We’ll that’s one down.

REGAN
And the odds just got a whole lot better.

The Vampires attack again, going for them both. Gunn and Regan fight them off, side by
Side. Gunn stakes another Vampire. Gunn looks around. It’s like he’s fighting on his own.
He notices now he is. Regan can’t be seen. The Vamps move in on Gunn. He raises the crossbow, ready to fire it if he must.

REGAN(OS)
You know what I hear

We see Regan standing at the Garage shutters. He pulls them up and sunlight bursts in.

REGAN
I hear you vamps ain’t too fond of a little sunlight,

All the Vampires scream in hate as the light hits them, they turn to dust. Gunn stands, panting.
Looking at Regan, a little upset.

GUNN
You might wanted to have let me in on this brilliant plan.

REGAN
And the fun in that would be?

GUNN
Whatever dude.

REGAN
Wait no, I’m sorry okay. I shoulda told ya. I just thought I was doing good by
Not yelling ‘Vampires, watch out, I;m gonna kill ya’.

GUNN
That’s not the point Regan. The point is that we are a Team, and we need to work together
And not keep things from each other or else one of us is gonna die.

Gunn starts to walk away

GUNN
And it sure as hell ain’t gonna be me.

EXT. STREET

Gunn has just exited the garage when his cell phone rings. He picks it up and answers

GUNN
Hello?
(happily)
Hey Fred, what’s….
(listening)
Vision. What about a Vision?
(listening more)
Fred, slow down, slow down,
what’s wrong with Cordy?

CUT TO:

INT. ANGEL’S ROOM

LORNE
In short, I think her wires are fried, extra crispy.

Lorne has placed Cordy on Angel’s bed. She lies with her eyes shut.

GUNN
What does that mean?

LORNE
Basically, It’s like a wall socket. She was using her Two powers at once
And Kablow-y.

GUNN
We’ll un-kablowy her.

LORNE
It’s not that easy, you see, her psyche has gone away on vacation
If you know what I mean. Her sub-concious is shot to hell, and plainly,
I don’t know how to un-kablowy her.

GUNN
So we’re just gonna do nothing while she lies there, unconscious, lost
And unable to find her way home. I don’t think so.

LORNE
And how are you going to fix this, please let us all in on this grand secret.

Gunn stops. Not knowing what to do.

FRED
What are we gonna do? What are you saying? That there’s no hope?
That we should just give up on her?

LORNE
No Fred, I;m…..

FRED
(cutting him off)
We’ll I’m not giving up on her. Not now, not ever.

Fred looks over at Lorne, tear in her eyes and shaking.

FRED
Help her.

LORNE
I’ll try Fred.

ANGLE ON

CORDELIA lying unconscious on the bed. The Camera moves in.

LORNE(OS)
I’ll try.

CUT TO

INT. WESLEY’S OFFICE

A few boxes lie, clutered around. It is obvious that he has just moved in to the office. The door opens to reveal lilah.

LILAH
Hmm. So this is the office. Nice.

WESLEY
What do you want, Lilah?

LILAH
Can’t a worker walk over to another co-worker and offer a Friendly hello?

WESLEY
I think the Keyword in that sentence was ‘Friendly’.

LILAH
Oh, are you trying to imply that we’re not friends. That really hurts Wes.
I know how friendly you can be, You sometimes can be friendly all night.

WESLEY
Right, yes
(notices the folder in Lilah;s hand)
That’s for me, I assume.

LILAH
My boys smart.

WESLEY
I’m not your boy.

Lilah smiles.

LILAH
That;s right, I forgot. Your all man.
And what a man you are. I remember my first office,
it was bigger than this, of Course. Doesn’t this office

Wesley glares at her.

LILAH
Don’t eyeball me, or you might just lose it.

Wesley sits back in his chair. Lilah takes this as a step-back.

LILAH
We’ll, now that you got your first office, it’s time for you
To earn it.
(slams the file on his desk)
Here’s your first project.

Wesley picks up the file and looks at it. His first project is….

WESLEY
Angel Investigations?

LILAH
That’s right. The Senior Partners feel that you’re a liability.
An expendable liability the case seems, so they’ve decided

WESLEY
(through gritted teeth)
I’m loyal to Wolfram and Hart.

LILAH
You don’t have to convince me sweetie, you already got my
Seal of approval, but I think you might just have to take a
Different approach convincing the Senior Partners.
And If you are loyal to Wolfram and Hart, then this shouldn’t
Be a problem for you.

Wesley says nothing. Lilah heads for the door,

LILAH
And I’ll be seeing you tonight I assume.
(off his glare)

Lilah exits leaving Wesley on his own, to consider this.

CUT TO:

EXT. VILLAGE-17th Century

Cordelia stands alone in the middle of a cobbled street. She is staying close to the edge of the
House to make sure no-one sees her.

CORDY
Ok Cordy, breath, breath Cordy. It’s not like you;ve never been
Sucked into a Hell Dimension before.
They even made you a Princess.

Cordelia starts to walk into the street, looking around.

CORDY
Okay, judging from the houses and clothes, It’s the Dawn of
Time.

As Cordelia is walking further and further, she doesn’t see all the people staring at her strangely,
Almost fascinatedly.

CORDY
Oh you are really screwed this time Cordy. And best of all, the only
Man who could possibly find a way into this place isn’t around anymore
And my champion is insane.
(noticing the people)
And people are starting to think I’m insane because I keep
talking to myself.

Cordelia is stopped by a man. He seems drunk and scary.

MAN
(to cordy)
Are you a companion?

CORDY
Huh?

MAN
A companion?

CORDY
Okay?

MAN
How much do you charge?

CORDY
(sigh of relief)
Oh a companion. That was driving me nuts

Beat. Cordy slaps him, just realizing

CORDY
Hey. I’m nobody’s companion buddy.

MAN
(holding cheek)

Cordelia starts to run alittle, when she bumps into a man

MAN
Wohow, my lass. Why the rush, you should slow down.

CORDY
Quick, what’s a cow?

TOWNSPERSON
(a little confused)

The Townsperson walks away, leaving cordy stumped.

And on top of that, I’m about to have a vision.

Cordelia stands and watches the vision. It’s a woman, inside a small cottage-esque
Home. We don’t see what attacks her. A concerned person comes over and helps

MAN*2
Are you okay, miss?

CORDY
Yeah, I’m fine. I just had a vision.

MAN”2
A vision?

CORDY
Yeah, it’s harmless it’s

MAN*2
(yelling as loud as he can)
Witch! Witch!

CORDELIA
Oh no no no. Don’t cry witch. Don’t, I;m not a
Witch.

Everyone is staring at this. The Man is pointing.

MAN”2
That one, over there. She’s a witch.

CORDELIA
We’ll this can’t be good.

A Crowd is gathering. A few hold burning torches. It is obvious this is a well-organised witch hunt.

CROWD
Get the witch.

Cordy turns and starts running in the opposite direction. Cordy is now running through the town.
A large crowd is now behind her chasing her. She turns a corner and keeps running until she see’s a woman in front of her. This is ISABEL

ISABEL
Quick. In here?

CORDY
What?

ISABEL
Do you want to die? If not, then enter. Hurry.

Cordelia quickly enters the house and the door closes just as the Crowd turn the Corner. They have seen none of this.

ISABEL
We’ll that was certainly a close call. You certainly can run
Fast, can’t you madam!

CORDY
What I……

ISABEL
Of course I suppose everyone would be able to run
Like the wind if a group of vigilants were trying to
Burn them at the stake.

CORDY
Burn at the…..Where am I?

ISABEL
Salem, Massachusetts. I am a fellow witch.
My name is Isabel. Would you like to join my
Coven?

CORDY

You don’t mind, I’m just gonna skip the whole, burning
At the stake part and be on my way.

Cordelia is about to leave when…..

ISABEL

CORDY

Cordelia runs and hugs him tightly.

CORDY
I’m sorry, I’m sorry. It’s just, where the

We’re in a vision.

Pause.

CORDY
What? This can’t be a vision. I mean, I can talk
To people and they hear me and talk to me and
Tell me what a tremendous whore I am!
(long pause)
And I just know your gonna turn around in a

Nothing. Whack. Cordy hits him in the arm.

LORNE
Your not a whore. But I’m concentrating on

Cordy turns to see what he is pointing at. Out of the window is ANGELUS

CORDY
Oh. Crap.

Cordelia watches where Angel is going.

A glass of phortified wine.

CORDY
We’ll we gotta stop him.

Oh that’s right. You just go ahead and do that. I’ll
Just stay over here and not get incinerated.

CORDY
Lorne, we have to do something. What, are we just gonna
Stand here and let him kill her?

LORNE
Sounds like a plan.

CORDY
Lorne.

Cordelia starts to walk away.

LORNE

Lorne and Cordy make there way and exit. Isabel walks over and looks out the window,

ISABEL
Who’s that?

EXT. STREET

Lorne and start walking towards the alley.. They stop at the edge. They peer over closely. Angel is in the alley. He sits down. He seems drunk.

ANGELUS
And the best part was,
(slurly)
The best part was the part when you

booze and bitches.

Angelus takes another swig of his drink.

CORDELIA
He’s a drunk. And a bad one at that. If he starts

Cordelia and Lorne quickly cross the street and hide behind Isabel’s
House.

A Young woman comes out. She looks around, and seems alittle bewildered.
She see’s Angelus. This is LORETTE (change name)

LORETTE
Sir. Are you okay sir?

CORDY
No of course, he’s not okay.

LORNE
Cordy, shhh.

LORETE
Sir, can I help you at all.

Angelus looks up at her.

ANGELUS
Oh no, no you can’t. You see, no one can help
Me now.

CORDY
Let’s just leave it that and You;ll go back to your
Safe home.

LORETTE
Let me help you up sir.

Lorette helps him up, and starts walking him about.

LORETTE
There we go, you just have to walk about a little,
And you’ll be fine.

ANGELUS
I won’t. I really won’t.

LORETTE
It’s okay. I’ll take care of you.

Lorette starts to walk Angel towards her house. He;s reluctant, for obvious reasons.

ANGELUS
(reaching the door)
No I can’t I,

CORDELIA
He really can’t

LORETTE
Of course you can. Come on in.

ANGELUS
(smiling)
We’ll if you insist.

CORDELIA
Oh you stupid bird.

Cordelia and Lorne run back across the street. The creep over to the window and start to look inside,

CORDY
Do you think he’s human or Vampire?

Lorne watches through the window as Angel vamps out and starts biting her.

LORNE
(non-challently)
Vampire.

Cordelia and Lorne watch in horror as Angel starts drinking. The Girl wriggles about trying to get free, then drops to the ground. Dead.

CORDY
Okay, I would really like to go home now.

LORNE
Oh, we both do sweetie.

CORDY
So how do I?

LORNE
I don’t know.

CORDY
Okay, let’s try a Question maybe you can answer. How am I in Salem?

LORNE
Remember when you we’re glowing, to try and cure Angel

CORDY
Uh-huh.

LORNE
And then you got struck with a vision.

CORDY
Vividely.

LORNE
We’ll the electrical charges……in simple terms. You overloaded yourself.

CORDY
And now I’m stuck here.

LORNE
Until Fred figures a way to get us out, yes.

CORDY
And that’s gonna take how long?

LORNE
I don’t know.

CORDELIA stands still, staring into space. Lorne clicks his fingers at her head.

LORNE
Ummm, Cordy

CORDY
Shhhhh. Vision.

LORNE
Ohhh.

CORDY
It’s a woman, I see a….a…….

LORNE
A what?

Cordelia faints into Lorne. Lorne holds her, fanning her with his hand.

CUT TO:

INT. HOTEL -LOBBY

Fred and Gunn are staring at the box.

GUNN
So no-ones gone over and peeked inside?

FRED
No-one’s had the guts too, I mean last time we saw him, he bit you.

Fred sees the Anger boiling on Gunn;s face.

FRED
But then again, he did spend Three months alone In a box, all alone.
I mean that can make you pretty darn crazy. I should know.

Fred stops when Gunn kisses her. He looks her in the eye’s sincerely.

GUNN
You are not crazy, quirky yes, and you may drive me crazy, but.

Now Fred is the one to stop Gunn by kissing him.

FRED
One of us has got to go over there and check on him.

GUNN
I’ll do it.

FRED
Thank You.

Gunn starts to stride over to the box.

ANGLE ON-GUNNS P.O.V. It is extremely dark and there seems to be no-one in there. Gunn continues to look in when,

ANGEL’S FACE

Rushes up to the bar, he seems deeply insane.

ANGEL
Let me out, oh please, please let me out. Don’t leave me in here.

FRED
What should we do?

GUNN
I say just leave him in there.

FRED
Yeah, and let him get even more crazy. Here.

Fred tosses Gunn a Stake, reaches under the cabinet and grabs a crossbow.

GUNN
Fred, what are you…?

FRED
Let him out.

GUNN
You’ve got to be kidding me.

FRED
He’d never hurt me. Even when he’s in demon form, he still
Wouldn’t hurt me.

GUNN
That was different, Fred. That was just his demon side’s reflection. This
Is the real deal, I can’t do it.

FRED
I’m not asking!

This catches Gunn off. Fred’s abruptness.

GUNN
Fine.

Gunn reaches over to the latch and unlocks it. The door slides open

ANGEL’S P.O.V.

Gunn is standing over him with a crossbow. It is aimed right at him.

GUNN
(to Fred)
How do we know he’s not evil?

FRED
Just ask him.

GUNN
Fred, baby, I don’t think…

ANGEL
I’m fine, Gunn. I;m

Angel collapses to the ground. He lies there unconscious.

FRED
What’s wrong with him? And why does everyone keep doing that!

GUNN
I think he needs some blood.

Fred looks at Gunn weirdly.

GUNN
Pigs blood, in the fridge.

FRED
Of course, right. I knew that.

Fred runs away quickly, leaving Gunn pining down Angel.

GUNN
(to Angel)
So, I guess I don’t have to ask how you spent your summer.

Angel is becoming more and more agitated.

GUNN
Right, Fred….

FRED
I’m here.

Fred runs in with the blood pack in her hands. She quickly gives it to Gunn. Gunn uses his teeth and rips a hole in it.

FRED
We’ll, go ahead,

GUNN
Oh no,no,no. Unless your arms are capable of holding psycho-vamp down. Your feeding
Him the blood.

Fred looks at it,

GUNN
Pretend it’s Fruit punch.

Fred looks at the bag.

FRED
This ain;t no Fruit punch.

Fred walks over to Angel. She crouches down and makes sure to keep a good enough distance.
She starts pouring the blood into Angel’s mouth. It flows into and down the side of his mouth. It’s
An awful sight.

FRED
There. All…….

Before Fred can finish, Angel burst free of Gunns restraint and runs over to the corner. He crouches down. He is shaking and breathing hard. He looks very unstable.

FRED
Better?

CUT TO:

Lorne is slapping Cordy lightly. She still isn’t awake.

LORNE
Come on Cordy. This is really hurting my hand.

Cordy starts to waken up. She’s alittle groggy, but okay.

CORDY
Oh Lorne. I had the weirdest dream….

LORNE
That you were in Salem and was trying to be burned at the stake,
Sorry sweetie, all real.

CORDY
Actually I was a ballet clown.

LORNE
Now there’s an obvious combination.

CORDY
Angel, was…..

LORNE
Killing the woman inside. I’m sorry. We’re too late.

Cordy looks over the side of the window pane. The Girl is lying on the ground. Dead.

LORNE
So that was Angel, huh?

CORDY
A part of him, yes.

LORNE
A part you could love?

Cordy looks at him, but doesn’t answer.

CORDY
We have to go.

LORNE
Go where?

CORDY
To save the girl.

LORNE
Uh cordy, in case you didn’t notice, she;s already uh?

CORDY
Not her, the other one. From my vision.

LORNE
Oh right.

It isn’t going to be like this, is it?

CORDY

CUT TO:

THOMAS enters his home. He’s a man in his 40’s. He seems tired. A long day’s work.

THOMAS
Honey, I;m home.

Nothing. Thomas is alittle worried.

THOMAS
Samantha Darling. Where are you dear?

Thomas walks into the kitchen to see, SAMANTHA lying dead on the floor

ANGELUS
Hi honey, how was your day?

THOMAS
You bastard.

Thomas lunges at Angelus. Angelus is able to fight him off easily. He throws Thomas to
The ground.

ANGELUS
Now, now young Thomas. You really need to learn how to play nice.
After all, it is your children at stake

THOMAS
My children?

ANGELUS
Now your wife, we'll your wife is dead, and there;s
not really alot you can do about that, but
I am not a man without compassion,

THOMAS
You're not a man.

ANGELUS
You do make a valid point, but I'm still going to make
a deal with ya, you see one of your children, we'll
if you don't mind sir, I;m going to kill them. But they'll
be the lucky one because you see, the second one,
we;ll I'm going to turn them, and you get to pick which one

THOMAS
No I won't, I can't.

ANGELUS
You see, I knew you'd be reluctant, never say i don't
come prepared. My bargining skills are alittle old
fashioned, but ranked very highly, you see, if you
don't choose, then I'm going to kill your baby over
there,

THOMAS
I can’t, I don’t…….

ANGELUS
Come on Thomas. Choose. Just pick your favourite,
And I’ll eat them.

THOMAS
I won’t…..

ANGELUS
Fine I’ll do it.

Angelus grabs the daughter and brings him to her. He bites into her, carefully.

ANGELUS
(after biting into the daughter)
Now, while killing you sir, would be the highlight of
my evening, it's seems that i am becoming a little
bit stale. Predictable, it would seem.
(we see the girl has been turned into a vampire)
I think this way will be alot more fun

The father looks on in shock as the baby cries,

ANGELUS
Oh, and that little baby of yours, it'll make a great
apetizer for the lass.

CUT TO:

EXT. CICILE’S HOUSE

Cordy and Lorne rush up, panting heavily, obviously tired.

CORDY
Did we make it? Did we make it?

Lorne peers in the window.

LORNE
She’s alive and well.

CORDY
Oh good.
(beat)
Now what? We just walk in and say ‘hi, someone’s going
To kill you. Don’t worry, it’s not us’”

LORNE
Yeah, and I doubt a green demon’s gonna help matters.

CORDY
So what do we do?

CUT TO:

EXT. CICILE’S HOUSE

Cicile opens her door to find Cordelia there.

CORDY
(like their friends)
Cicile, hi, my god it has been too long, how
Have you been?
(before she can answer)
That’s great.

Cordelia pushes past letting herself in.

CORDY
Oh my god, I love what you’ve done with the place.

CICILE

CICILE

CICILE

Okay, I’m from the future, and I’m here to save you.

CICILE
