Title: An Interesting New Year

Note: This is just a little scene I wrote, thought it would be cute for the New Year.
"Angel, what are you doing?" Cordelia asked, looking at the vampire in front of the television.
"Uh, watching TV," he replied.
Angel was usually not TV Guy, so Cordelia got curious.
"Yes, I see that, but *what* are you watching?" she asked. Before he could answer, the television did it for him.
"You're watching Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve?" she said with a laugh.
Angel just shrugged. "Yeah, there was nothing else to do..."
Cordelia flopped down on the couch beside him, pulling her legs underneath her. "So, is Dick Clark really as ancient as we all think he is? Has he been around like, as long as you?" she asked with a smirk.
"Not that I know of," Angel replied, eyes still on the TV. It was 11:58 p.m., and if he could breathe, he would have been doing so pretty fast at this point. He was nervous, but as always he was very good at hiding it.
They watched in silence until the countdown started, and the ball was about to drop.
Ten, nine, eight, seven, six...
"I put Connor down."
Four, three, two, one...
Cordelia turned to Angel. "Happy - "
Angel grabbed her and kissed her. She was stunned to begin with, but she slowly leaned into him. Not a bad way to start the new year, she thought.
He broke the kiss, hoping to any power that would listen that he'd done the right thing.
"New Year," Cordelia finished softly.
"Happy New Year," Angel smiled. "I, I, uh..."
Cordelia rolled her eyes. And Stuttering Angel is back, she thought.
"It's okay," she said.
"Really?"
"Absolutely."
Angel looked at her in disbelief. "It's going to be an interesting new year."
