Episode 1: The Dangers of Drinking

Cast: David Boreanaz, Charisma Carpenter, James Marsters, J. August Richards, Amy Acker, Vincent Kartheiser, Andy Hallett, and Alexis Denisof
Special Guest Star: Eliza Dushku

In the basement of the Hyperion Hotel, Angel and Spike are hard at work. Angel had set up his own little home gym in there. Now that he is no longer a vampire and just an ordinary person, he would have to train extra hard to be able to combat the evil that lurks in Los Angeles. Angel is laying down on the bench press, moving the bar up and down, with Spike spotting him. "Come on 8...9...10. That's good. Rest now." Spike says.
The bar comes down on Angel's throat. Angel wheezes, "Uh, Spike a little help."
"What?" Spike asks.
"Can you give me hand?" Angel asks. Spike starts to clap, but then helps lift the bar back up.
Cordelia walks in, "Are you guys about done yet?"
"Almost," Angel replies.
"Remember, we've got to head for Stanford," Cordelia reminds her husband.
"What are you heading to Stanford for? Is daddy's little man getting homesick?" Spike teases.
"No, it's Parent's Weekend. I told Connor that we'd be there," Angel explains.
"After that type of workout, you'd better hit the showers first," Cordy instructs. "Because, now that you're human again, you've got a nasty B.O. thing goin' on, and I'm not inhaling that all the way down there."
"Yes ma'am," Angel responds.

Connor is on the phone in his dorm room with Faith. "Are you ready for parents weekend?" Faith asks.
"Yeah, I think so," Connor answers. "Dad and Cordy are supposed to be coming down to check the place out. By the way, I sorta got invited to this party, and I was wondering if you're not too busy slaying and all if you'd like to join me. I believed they called it a keggar, whatever that means."
"I'll be there, but don't go to the party without me," Faith instructs. "Keggars can be kind of dangerous. So wait til I get there to keep an eye on you."
"Geez you sound just like Angel," Connor said. "I'm 20 years old now I can handle anything they throw at me. So will you do it for me?"
"Okay, we can go," Faith says. "We can go, and meet your college buddies, but whatever you do don't drink anything."
"Why not?" Connor asks.
"Junior, just promise me that you won't do anything stupid til I get there," Faith tells him.
"Okay," Connor answers.

Wesley, Fred, Gunn, and Lorne are waiting in the lobby, as Angel and Cordelia come down the stairs to say goodbye. "Are you excited about parents weekend?" Fred asks.
"I'm looking forward to it," Angel informs them. "I'm glad Connor's letting me take an active role in his life."
"Well, we'll hold down the fort until you return," Wesley tells them.
"Yeah, they picked a good weekend to have this thing, because it doesn't appear to be a whole lot going on over here," Gunn says.
"So in other words, have a ball ya two crazy kids," Lorne says. "The drive down there'll give the two you a chance for some quality time."
"And being the youngest adult there, I wonder how many wolf whistles I'll get?" Cordelia boasts.
"You're get make me have to kick a bunch guys asses are you?" Angel playfully asks.
"We'll see," Cordelia says as she slinks away.
Gunn pats Angel on the back, smiles, and says, "Just remember you married her."

On the drive down, Angel and Cordelia are discussing Connor. "I know he's been getting kind of close with Faith lately, do you think its a good idea?" Angel asks Cordelia for her opinion.
"I don't know," Cordelia answers. "Faith seems different from the devil-may-care psycho bitch we used to know back in Sunnydale. Maybe the time in the slammer did her some good."
"Still though," Angel says. "She's got that love 'em and leave 'em reputation, and I don't want Connor to get hurt."
"Well they're both adults," Cordelia reminds him. "So they are free to make they're own decisions. Now it's sweet of you to want to look out for your son, but he's got to learn to stand on his own two feet." There's a long pause, while Angel ponders her advice. Cordelia continues, "Besides, would you want them to break up, and then he go back to dry-humping my leg?"
"Good point," Angel agrees.

They arrive on the campus, and enter the hallway of Connor's dorm. Angel and Cordelia are walking down the hallway looking for Connor's room, when they see him talking to two guys, Mike and Jeff. Jeff asks Connor, "Who are they?"
Connor casually answers, "Oh, those are my folks."
"Whoa," Mike says doing his best Keanu Reeves impression. "Dude, your mom's hot."
"Actually she's my stepmom," Connor explains. Connor greets Angel and Cordelia with hugs. "Guys, these are two friends of mine, Mike and Jeff, guys these are my folks." After an exchange of pleasantries Connor ushers them into his dorm room.
Mike and Jeff stare at one another. Mike says, "M.I.L.F.?"
Jeff responds, "Totally." (Those that have seen the American Pie movies will get that reference.)

Later that evening, Angel and Cordelia return home. "You guys didn't stay for the football game?" Gunn asks.
"No," Cordelia responds. "The old guy wanted to come home and unwind."
"Who are you calling old?" Angel says. "I'm back to being the same condition as I was right before I died, and I was only one year old than you are now."
"Yeah," Cordelia reminds him. "But there were 225 years that passed in between."
"How did the Parent's weekend go?" Wesley asks.
"I would have enjoyed it more if a certain someone didn't have to go making a scene," Cordelia mentions.
"Hey, that guy was coming on to you!" Angel shouts.
Fred questions, "What do you mean?"
Cordelia said, "He was just asking for directions."
Angel responds, "Yeah, but his line of vision was focused below the neckline the entire time. In case you haven't noticed Cordelia, you're hot."
Cordelia answers, "I know, I just like to hear you say it. Now, honey you are just going to have to get over this jealousy thing, because I am all yours. You are the one I love, no one else."
Angel's face turns to a smile, as he's been refreshing himself long enough. "Now come's the best part of the fight, the making up."
"Guys," Lorne says. "I think that's our cue to scram."

Back at the dorm room, Connor is waiting for Faith, but she hasn't arrived yet. Mike and Jeff come to the door, and ask Connor if he needs a ride to the party. "No, I'm waiting for my girlfriend," Connor says. "She's supposed to be driving down for the weekend."
"Just leave her a note man," Mike suggests. "She can meet us there."
"She specifically said I should wait for her," Connor tells them.
"What are you a man or a wuss?" Jeff asks.
"She also said that these kinds of things are dangerous," Connor informs the guys.
Mike replies, "Connor, you're our pal right?" Connor nods. "We wouldn't let anything bad happen to you."
Jeff agrees, "So let's go have some fun." Connor gives in, but leaves Faith note.

Faith arrives and hurries up to Connor's room, but notices he's gone. She finds the note and reads it. She calls the hotel and Wesley answers. Faith explains the situation. "We're on our way," he instructs.
"What's wrong?" Gunn asks.
"Connor's gone to a frat party, and may be consuming alcohol as we speak," Wesley says.
"Oh my God," Lorne exclaims. "Can you imagine a kid with his kind of abilities drunk? This could get ugly?"
Fred is about to go up to get Angel and Cordelia, but Wesley tells her to let them have some time to themselves. They decide to pick Spike up along the way.

Faith walks into the frat house, and shoves several college students aside. She finds Connor, and he is falling down drunk. "I thought I told you to wait for me," Faith says.
"Faith, you made it. How about a kiss, baby?" Connor moves forward, but when she gets a whiff of the alcohol on his breath she steps back, and he falls flat on his face. "This is a great party," Connor says as Faith picks him up.
"I've got to get you outta here," Faith tells him.
"You're not the boss of me," Connor states while slurring.

Once outside, Faith is walking Connor around trying to get him to sober up. Suddenly up pops a squad of vampires looking to lay waste to the party goers. "Oh, great this is just what I need!" Faith exclaims. She sets Connor down, and gets some tools from her car. Faith catches one vampire with a roundhouse kick, and then fires a crossbow that turns another to dust. Connor gets up and tries to help her, but his balance is off, and he ends up striking Faith instead and knocking her out.
"Oops, sorry Faith." Connor apologizes.
The Fang Gang arrives. Spike, Gunn, and Wesley take care of the vampires, while Fred checks on Connor, and Lorne checks on Faith.
After the fight, Wesley asks Fred "How is he?"
Fred responds, "Drunk, very drunk." Connor then throws up on Wesley's shoes. Everyone winces at the smell. They then turn around to see Angel and Cordelia standing there.
Angel orders, "Everyone in the car, now! We're going home, and then we will discuss this first thing in the morning."

"I wasn't doing anything wrong," Connor explains. "It's not like none of you guys haven't had a few drinks before."
Cordelia reminds him, "There's a big difference mister. We are all old enough to drink, you aren't."
"What if Faith hadn't shown up, huh?" Angel asks. "What then? You could have been arrested, gone to jail, or worse yet, gotten behind the wheel, and killed someone. Hell, Faith is already sporting a shiner because of you. You're grounded. For the next month, you are going to have your ass here every weekend doing chores around the hotel. Got it."
"Got it," Connor responds.

Angel comes down the stairs, as Faith is getting ready to head out. "Faith, I want to thank you for looking out for Connor," Angel tells her. "I wasn't to crazy about the two of you being an item, but after seeing this, and considering the changes you've gone through, maybe you're just what he needs right now."
"Thanks, for the vote of confidence chief," Faith says with a smile. "I've got head out. Giles called with an assignment. I'm meeting Dana in Sacramento. Might drop in on the Gov while I'm there. I never did thank him for that pardon."
Angel smiles as Faith walks out the door. She stops and leans her head back in, "Tell that boy of yours that I'll call him later." She then leaves.
Angel turns back to the group, "Now there's the matter of you guys trying to cover for my son....."

Episode 2: Pitter Patter

Cast: David Boreanaz, Charisma Carpenter, James Marsters, J. August Richards, Amy Acker, Vincent Kartheiser, Andy Hallett, and Alexis Denisof
Special Guest Star: Mercedes McNab

It's a dark night as Angel and Cordelia are in an alley. Cordelia and Angel stand back to back surrounded by a hoard of vampires. Cordelia shouts, "3."
Angel responds, "2."
Cordelia continues, "1."
Angel pauses and then shouts, "Now!" As the vampires charge at them, Angel and Cordelia, like two synchronized swimmers, whip out a matching set of wrist stakes and take out four bloodsuckers simultaneously.
"That was tight," Gunn says approaching from the alley.
Fred also enters the picture, "Wow, you guys have got matching wrist stakes. How romantic! Wesley, we ought have a matching set of something."
"Well, I could get you your own set of revolvers," Wesley offers.
Fred cringes at the thought, "On second thought, I'll pass."
Spike and Lorne join the gang from the other side of the street. "I think that's the last of them," Spike says.
Angel ponders, "We've really seen an increase in the vampire activity lately, I wonder what could be up?"
Lorne theorizes, "Maybe word's out that you and Spike are no longer members of the Loyal Order of Bloodsuckers, and they think its open season on L.A."
Wesley agrees, "That could definitely be a possibility."
"Gunn, why don't you, Lorne, and Spike hit the streets, and check your sources for anything you can dig up," Angel instructs.
"Angel!" Fred screams as they turn around to see Cordelia lying on the ground. Angel rushes over and picks her back up.
"Cordy, can you hear me? Cordy?" Angel begs. Cordelia eventually comes around.
"I guess that fight took a little more out of me than I thought," Cordelia reasons.
Angel tells the Gang, "While, you guys are out there searching, the rest of us are going to take Cordelia back to the hotel. Wes, Fred can you give me a hand?"

Back at the hotel, Cordelia tries to inform the group that she's fine, "I'll be okay. I've just got a little light headed, but now that I've gotten some food in me, I'm good to go."
"Cordy, please just go upstairs and get some rest," Angel advises. "You don't have to put up a brave front with me. I'm concerned about you and I want to be sure your okay. Now please go get some sleep, and then I'm taking you to the doctor first thing in the morning."
"But, you've got so much to do tomorrow, I'd just feel really guilty," Cordelia tells him.
"Your health is more important to me than any case we're working on," Angel informs her.
"Anything we have the rest of us can pick up the slack until you return," Wesley says.
"But, I'd feel guilty. Um, maybe Fred can take me?" Cordelia asks.
"I guess that would be alright with me, if its okay with you Fred," Angel says while looking a little confused.
"Sure," Fred answers.

The next morning Cordelia is in the bathroom vomiting. Angel knocks on the door. "Go on about your business I'm fine," Cordelia assures him.
Angel asks, "I'm not leaving until you open the door. And since I own that door, I've got no problem kicking it down if I have to." Cordelia opens the door.
"Satisfied?" She asks.
"No, not until I know you're okay," Angel tells her. "I got to know, though, why Fred?"
"You said it yourself a few years ago. She's very soothing," Cordelia reminds him.
Angel smiles kisses her on the cheek, and says, "I'll buy that." He starts to walk towards the door, but turns back and states, "I hope things go okay, and if your up for it, I'll soothe your ass off later."
"Deal," She replies.

Angel goes downstairs to meet with Wesley, Gunn, Spike, and Lorne. Connor, in for his weekend visit and greets Angel in typical smart alecky college student fashion, "So do you have my chores lined up, Pa?"
"Maybe later, right now I want you in on this," Angel instructs his son.
Connor asks, "Where are Cordelia and Fred?"
Lorne explains, "Cordy wasn't feeling very well, so Freddiekins was nice enough to take her to the doctor's office."
"And you didn't go?" Connor asks Angel.
"I wanted to go, but Cordy said Fred was more soothing," Angel adds.
"Well I wouldn't get you knickers in a twist," Spike chimes in. "Of course you know, while they're out they are going to be comparing notes on the two of you. It's what wives do you know."
Gunn asks the obvious question, "And how would you know?"
"I do my homework," Spike boasts. "This detective stuff isn't that hard."
"Would this homework involve, say watching TV and reading magazines?" Angel asks.
"Maybe," Spike responds. "Hey, you have your sources, and I've got mine."
Lorne poses a question, "Uh, guys can we get back to the matter at hand?"
Gunn says, "Well I struck out. Nobody had nothing on why the vamps have been out in full force lately."
"Lorne, Spike what about you?" Wesley asks.
Lorne tells them, "I checked around a few karokee bars, and listened to some people that would make William Hung sound pleasant. Unfortunately I got nothing."
"I checked with the kids at the shelter, and one of them claimed to hear a couple of them talking about some great evil heading our direction," Spike informed the group. "However, they saw him, so he had to take off."
"We'll start there," Angel orders. "Wes, check your prophecy books to see if we might get any leads there."
"I'm on it," Wesley replies.

Meanwhile at the hospital, Fred and Cordelia are waiting at the doctor's office for the results of some tests that have been run on her. "Well, doc what's the story?" Cordelia questions with anticipation.
"I think we've pinned down the cause of why you haven't been feeling well," the doctor answers. "It's morning sickness."
"That's impossible," Fred says. "For her to have morning sickness, she'd have to be pregnant first." Fred then realizes what the doctor means, "Oh."
"I'm pregnant?" Cordelia says with a shock. "When?...How?...Okay, when?"
"I'd say you are about two and half months along," The doctor replies.
"Is it human?" Fred asks.
"Of course, it's human, what else would it be?" the doctor says. "Some demon with horns and a tail? Hahaha." He then notices they aren't laughing. "Cordelia you have a healthy baby in there, but you need to make sure to take better care of yourself," the doctors instructs. "My nurse will give you some information packets on your way out, and congratulations."
"Thank you," Cordelia replies. The doctor leaves Cordelia and Fred alone.
"You're gonna be a mom!" Fred shouts, and hugs Cordelia.
Cordelia responds, "And it's not some evil monster. It's a nice normal kid."
They start jumping up and down and getting excited. Fred then kills the mood by saying, "Wait until Angel hears the news."
"Oh my God!" Cordelia exclaims.
"Cordy, what's wrong?" Fred asks.
"How do I tell him I'm pregnant?" Cordelia explains. "We had talked about having kids someday, but not right now. And then there's Connor, how is he going to react to all this? I don't want this to trigger some old feelings and he go off the deep end again. Fred what am I going to do?" Cordelia cries on Fred's shoulder.
"Everything will be fine," Fred tries to assure her. "You know why?' Cordelia shakes her head no. "Because he loves you. Out of all the girls he could have picked, he chose you to spend the rest of his life with. As far as Connor goes, he's not that same person anymore. He's a good kid, and I think he'll handle it."
Cordelia asks, "Is two and half months too early for the hormones to start quicking in?"

As the two get ready to leave, Cordelia notices a familiar face. Cordelia and Fred see the woman from a distance and think no it can't be her. To be on the safe side they decide to follow. They follow the woman into a dark corner of the building, and turn her around to reveal they were right. It's Harmony Kendall. "Hi, girls! Long time no see." Harmony greets them.
"Not long enough," Cordelia replies. "I killed you at the Tournament. How'd you get back?"
"Oh, I've got friends in high places," Harmony explains. "Anyway, just thought I'd give you the heads up. There's a greater power coming, and soon the creatures of the night are going to take over this town."
"Does this ultimate evil have a name?" Fred asks.
"The First," Harmony says. "Buffy couldn't kill it even when Angel and Spike were vampires. Now that they're normal, this town is easy pickings. It's coming and there's not a damn thing you can do about it. Now if you'll excuse me." Harmony punches Cordelia in the face, and pushes her into Fred. Fred placed herself in between Cordelia and the ground in order to protect the soon to be newest member of the Fang Gang. Harmony rounds the corner, makes sure she's not followed, and transforms into one of the nurses at the hospital.

Cordelia and Fred arrive back at the hotel. They find Wesley alone going through his books. "Is Angel here?" Cordelia asks.
"No, he and the others are out on patrol?" Wesley explains. "How did your doctor's visit go?"
"I'm pregnant," Cordelia informs him.
"Is it human?" Wesley asks.
Fred chimes in, "Of course."
"That's wonderful," Wesley responds. "We could use some good news around here."
"We've also got some bad news," Fred tells him. "We had a visit from Harmony, while we were at the clinic. We know what's coming. It's a being known as the First."
"Harmony said it knew Angel and Spike," Cordelia informs him. "Something about they helped Buffy defeat it, but they weren't able to kill it."

Angel, Spike, Gunn, Connor, and Lorne return to the hotel. Each relays stories of having to stake more and more vampires walking the streets. Wesley tells them there is some good news, and bad news. Fred tells them about their encounter with Harmony/the First.
"Ah, bloody hell!" Spike exclaims.
Connor asks, "What is the First?"
"It's a long story junior, a really long story," Spike responds.
"Judging by the vibes, you and Angel are giving off, I take it this is really bad," Gunn states.
Lorne then butts in, "So what's the good news?"
Fred steps forward, "Angel, Cordelia has something to tell you." Cordelia temporarily starts a little hum, and Lorne picks up the information.
Lorne instructs the rest, "What do you say we give these two crazy kids some privacy?"
"No, I want stay and watch," Spike answers. Gunn and Connor usher him outside. Lorne, Wesley, and Fred follow.

"Cordy, is there something you want to tell me?" Angel asks.
"Yeah, but I don't know where to begin," Cordelia says. "I see all the bad going on in this world, and I wonder about that discussion we were having the other night in bed about maybe having kids someday. But what why would anyone want to bring a child into this world?"
"I had a similar discussion with Darla regarding Connor," Angel informs her. "I think children have the potential to make the world a better place. I think you and I have a lot of love to give, and when the time is right, we will be hearing the pitter patter of little feet around here, and I think we will make great parents." He sees that there's something on her mind, "What brought this on anyway?" He could tell she was afraid to tell him, "Come on, Cordy, you know you can tell me anything."
"Angel, I'm pregnant," Cordelia blurts out.
Angel is stunned, and says the first thing to come to his mind, 'Is it human?"
"Why does everyone keep asking me that?" Cordelia replies.
"I'm sorry, that was completely insensitive," Angel apologizes. "It is human though, right?"
"Yes," Cordelia answers. Angel then picks her up and twirls Cordelia around, and kisses her repreatedly. "So you're not mad?"
"Mad?" Angel states shock that she could even think that. "I'm on top of the world right now. I'm glad we took care of Angelus, because right now, I'm having a moment of perfect bliss."
"I was worried, because we wanted to wait a little while, but then this just sort of happened," Cordelia explained. "I didn't want you to be disappointed."
"Disappointed?" Angel ponders. "Cordy, you know I'm not exactly a religious person. Because, of my time as a vampire, I never had much use for churches or preachers, but everyday when I get up, I thank God for sending you into my life. I love you, Cordy, and I am in this marriage with you every step of the way."
"What did I ever do to deserve you?" Cordy replies.
"If I remember correctly, you walked into my office one day, and just started taking over," Angel reminds her.
"Oh yeah," Cordelia remembers. She then turns to Angel, "Well I'm ready to take you up on your earlier offer."
"What offer is that?" Angel asks.
"Mama, would like her ass soothed off," Cordelia says. "If you're up to it."
"Oh, I'm up for it," Angel asks. "But shouldn't we tell the rest of the guys? I mean we just can't leave them hanging all night."
"Pffft," Cordelia responds. "Like Fred and Lorne could keep a secret."
They then head upstairs.

Episode 3:  How Do I Live

Special Guest Stars: Julie Benz, Juliet Landau, Elisabeth Rohm, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Sarah Thompson, Jenny Mollen, Tom Lenk, and Julia Lee

Angel searches through a dark abandoned building. He's looking for someone who had asked to meet him there. He was told that it was regarding the arrival of the First, but the message was very cryptic. "Hello?" Angel asks. "Is anyone here?" He continues the search, and finally finds a light switch. He flicks it on and sees Darla standing right beside him. He jumps back, and then realizes its her. "Darla, couldn't the Powers That Be have picked a nicer place for us to meet?"
"Actually, this time the Powers didn't send me, I came on my own," Darla replies. She moves forward like she's trying to seduce him.
"Whoa," Angel tells her. "I'm married now, so that kind of stuff isn't happening."
"You don't honestly think that little Cordelia is going to be enough to satisfy that sexual appetite of yours is it Liam?" Darla asks. "Nice normal girls have never really been your thing." Angel watches as Darla suddenly morphs into Druscilla.
Druscilla says, "You always liked your women wild and exciting. All you have to do is come over here and I can bring all that back to you."
Angel shakes his no, "I'm not doing that. I have a wife at home that loves me, a son in college, and a baby on the way. I'm not doing anything to jeopardize that." Druscilla walks into the darkness, and then stepping out from the light is Kate Lockley.
Kate warns him, "You might as well give up Angel. You can't beat the First. The First is all powerful. Why not join us and be on the winning side?"
Angel is getting more freaked out and tries to find an exit. He then runs into Eve. Eve tells him, "Join us and we can give you any fantasy you want."
"No this isn't happening," Angel says as he shoves Eve out of the way. Eve then morphs into Nina.
Nina then gets up, and stairs at him. "You know you miss having the power Angel. Why don't you let us give you that power back? You become Angelus again, and we can run this town."
"No, we'll stop you. My friends and I will find a way!" Angel exclaims.
Nina then transforms into Buffy. Buffy informs him, "Then you better be prepared to suffer the consequences." She then punches Angel, and sends him flying into a wall. Buffy then dives through a window, and runs out into the street. Angel follows after her. She stops to yell, "Catch me if you can!" Angel runs out into the street, and tackles her. Buffy uses a foot to push him off, and then runs away. As Angel gets back up, he hears the sound of screeching tires, and is struck by a bus.

Back at the Hyperion Hotel, Wesley and Gunn are having a game of billiards on the new pool table they just bought for themselves. Cordelia and Fred are listening to Lorne's new C.D. that he just finished recording. Over the loud music, Cordelia somehow manages to hear the phone ring. She runs over to pick up, "Angel Investigations....Hold on second, guys, can you turn that down?" Fred obliges the request. Cordelia continues, "Okay, go ahead....Yes, this his wife." The gang then notices the look of fear spreading across her face, and the tears rolling down her cheeks. "How did this happen?.....I'm on my way." Cordelia grabs her purse and starts heading for the door.
"Cordelia, what's wrong?" Wesley asks.
"It's Angel, there's been an accident," Cordelia tells them. "He's in the hospital."
"Oh, my God. What happened?" Fred asks.
"Tell us about it on the way. Let's roll," Gunn says.

Cordelia, Wesley, Gunn, Fred, and Lorne wait in the emergency room. Spike comes walking in. "I came just as soon as I heard," Spike tells them. "What the bloody hell happened?"
"Angel was out into the middle of the street when he was hit by a bus," Wesley informs him. "If he were still a vampire, he would have made it easily, but with him being a human that makes things more difficult."
"Tell me about it," Spike responds. "So what was he doin' out in the middle of the streets anyway."
"We haven't figured that part out yet," Lorne answers. "I guess someone should head down to the police headquarters and see what they can dig up."
"Spike and I will go," Gunn offers. He then turns to Cordelia, "If that's okay."
Cordelia looks up at Gunn, "Yeah. Find out who is responsible."
Gunn puts his arm around Cordelia and assures her, "We will." He and Spike leave.
"Is the family for Mr. Angel here?" asks one of the doctors.
Cordelia answers, "Yes. I'm his wife." She then asks, "How is he?" However, she fears what the response might be.
The doctor explains, "We were able to repair most of his internal injuries, but he lost a lot of blood. He's stable now, but he is going to need a transfusion. It make take a while for us to find a match at the blood bank, and even then its no guarantee. Our best bet would be a relative. Does he have any blood relatives nearby?"
Wesley informs the doctor, "He has a son attending college at Stanford."
The doctors responds, "Then you need to get him on his way here now. He may be our only hope."
Fred tells Cordelia, "I'll call Connor, and tell him to get here as quickly as he can."
"Thank you," Cordelia answers.
Lorne asks, "Hey doc, would it be alright if the little lady here can get in to see the hubby?"
"Yes, I suppose that would be alright," the doctor replies. "I'll take you to him."

Cordelia opens the door, and sees Angel bruised, battered, and lying motionless on a hospital bed. She takes him by the hand and says, "It's me honey, I'm here." She tries to use her demon healing powers, but for some reason they are not working. Cordelia tries to fight back the tears, but it hurts, because she's never seen him like this. "I don't know why this happened, but you've got to fight this....There are people out there that are depending on us....Our friends need you....Connor needs you....Our baby needs you....I need you....Please don't die on me....Not now!"

Connor is in his dorm room at Stanford talking to Mike and Jeff. Mike says, "Man, we are sorry for get you into so much trouble with your dad."
Connor tells them, "That's okay, the grounding is over, and now I'm ready for action."
The phone rings, and Jeff answers. "Ah, Connor its for you. Some chick named Fred?"
Connor answers the phone, "Hello." After listening for a minute, he adds, "Fred, slow down, I can hardly understand a word you're saying." Fred tells Connor what happened. "I'm on my way."
Connor searches frantically for his car keys. Mike asks, "Dude, what's wrong?"
"My dad's in the hospital," Connor informs them. "He needs a blood donor, and I'm the only one that can do it. Where are my damn keys?"
"Here, they are," Jeff flips them to Connor. Connor then forgets himself and jumps out the third story window to the street below. Needless to say, the guys are surprised that he isn't hurt at all. Connor hops in his car, and speeds off toward Los Angeles.

Meanwhile at the police station, one of the detectives is showing Gunn and Spike some security tape footage. A security camera from a nearby bank caught the entire incident involving Angel and Buffy fighting out into the street on tape. Both Spike and Gunn cringe at the point in the tape where the bus makes impact with Angel. As they walk out of the police station, Gunn advises, "I think you better put in a call to your old girlfriend, and find out why the hell she's in L.A."
Spike calls Buffy's apartment number in Rome, but Andrew answers the phone, "Summers residence."
"Andrew, it's Spike," Spike informs him. "What is Buffy doing here in Los Angeles?"
"Um, what are you talking about? She's here in Rome, and she's in the shower," Andrew answers.
"Look you little bugger, Angel's in the hospital because we saw her on tape luring him out into the street to get hit by a bus."
"I'm sorry Spikey, but I don't think that's possible," Andrew responds. Buffy comes walking out of the bathroom wearing a robe, and has her hair wrapped up in a towel. "Andrew, who are you talking to?"
"It's Spike," Andrew answers. "For some reason, he thinks you're in L.A." Buffy takes the phone.
"Spike?" Buffy asks. Spike tells her about Angel being injured, and seeing the videotape of him fighting her into the street. "That's impossible, I haven't been to L.A. in years. Is Angel going to be okay?"
"It looks pretty bad," Spike says.
"Let me get dressed, and I'll get on the first available plane," Buffy offers.
"I don't think that's a good idea," Spike advises. "Cordelia is pretty shaken up about this, and your presence might make things worse."
"There must be something I can do," Buffy wants to know.
"Yeah, I think I know what's causing this," Spike says. "Give ol' Giles a ring, and get us anything you guys have on the First."
"I'm on it," Buffy hangs up the phone. With the mention of those last two words from Spike, a chill went down her spine.
Andrew asks, "Buffy, what's wrong?"

Connor is driving as quickly as he can to Los Angeles when he spots what looks to be his mother, Darla, on the side of the road. He stops on a dime, and gets out. "Mom, what are you doing here?" Connor asks.
Darla responds, "I came to warn you my boy not to interfere. The First has big plans, and if you play your cards right you could get in on that."
"No way," Connor replies. "I'm will not betray my father. I've had enough of people trying to turn me against him. You are obviously not my mother, because she told me herself that she knows the good inside me. We shared a soul, (sniffs her) and you obviously don't have one. Now if you'll excuse me." Connor starts to leave, but then notices some demons waiting for him by his car. Connor prepares to fight. He catches one with a roundhouse kick, then punches another, lands a spinning heel kick to another, and snaps another's neck. However, there are more demons where that came from and soon Connor is overwhelmed. He later wakes up on the side of the road, and notices his car is gone also. "Damn!" Connor exclaims.

Cordelia exits Angel's room and rejoins the rest of the group. "Have we heard anything from Connor?" she asks.
"Fred called, and he said he was on his way," Wesley explains. "But, he should have been here by now."
"Something must have happened to him," Fred ponders.
"Gunn, why don't you and Spike tell Cordelia what you found out at the cop shop," Lorne offers.
"We saw a videotape of the incident," Gunn says. "There was an abandoned building, and suddenly Buffy comes crashing through the window. She and Angel fought into the street, she knocked him down, and then just left him there, and that's when the bus hit him."
"Buffy's behind this," Cordelia ponders. 'Where is she at? Because, it looks like be and Little Miss Slayer need to have throw down!"
"It wasn't Buffy," Spike informs her. "I called her apartment in Rome and she's there. I talked to her myself. Now there's no way she could have gotten from Los Angeles to Rome in just six hours. It wasn't Buffy, it was the First."
Wesley asks, "What do you mean?"
"We encountered the First back in Sunnydale," Spike informs them. "It tried to open the Hellmouth. We stopped it, but we weren't apparently able to kill it. It has the ability to change its appearance to look like anyone."
Lorne asks, "But what about the warning from Harmony last week about the First coming?"
"It's not coming," Spike says. "It's already here."

Connor has been running as fast as his vampire speed will allow him. Eventually he wears down, and is about to collapse from exhaustion on the side of the road. A van drives by and sees him on the side of the road. Thinking its more trouble for him, Connor gets in his fighting stance. He is surprised to see a more friendly face this time. It's Anne. "Connor, what are you doing out this far?" she asks.
"I got carjacked by some demons," Connor informs her. "Look, I need a ride to the hospital can you give me a lift."
"Sure, are you hurt?" Anne questions.
"Nothing, I can't handle," Connor replies. "My dad was hit by a bus. He needs a blood tranfusion, I just hope were not too late." Anne tells the driver to head for the hospital.
"So what's all this stuff," Connor asks.
"We went to pick up some donations for the shelter," Anne informs him. "I guess its lucky we stopped by."

One by one, the members of the Fang Gang are allowed to step in and see Angel. Lorne is up first. "Angelcakes, I don't know if you can here me, but you've got a lot of folks pulling for you out there. You've taught me more about myself than I cared to know. For the longest part of my life, I didn't know what it was like to be part of something special, to be part of a family. But that all changed, because of you. You took a freak from another dimension with green skin and horns, and gave him what he's been looking for all his life....a place to fit in. We've still got a lot of living to do bro, so please don't give up the fighting the good fight."

Fred is the next to step in. "Angel? It's me Fred. I hate to see you like this. You've saved a lot of lives in your time, especially mine. If it weren't for you being that handsome man riding in to save me from that Pylean Hell, I would have never found my way home. I would have also never met Wesley, the love of my life. You are one of my closest friends, Angel, and I don't know how I or any of us for that matter would do without you. I don't know what this First thingy is, or why it wants to hurt you, but I do know that for us to have any chance to beat it we're gonna need you. So please, come back to us."

Gunn is makes his way in as Fred leaves. "I don't know what to say. You'd think with that brain upgrade I got from Wolfram and Hart a couple of years ago that I'd know the right words, but I don't. We've been to hell and back together literally. When I was out there living on the streets, I didn't know much else accept that I had to survive because I had people to take care of. You showed me that there is more to life than just fighting for survival. Angel, man, you've got too much to live for. You're life is finally coming together after all these years. You've got to hang on to it."

Outside the waiting room, Cordelia gets her a drink from the fountain. She looks up towards the Powers That Be. She thinks out loud, "How could you do this to me? After all I did for you guys, you're going to take the man I love away from me now? Is this to get back at us for what happened at the tournament? If you won't help him now, then I guess I'm just going to have to go over your heads." She then heads down the hall.

Wesley walks into Angel's room and sits down beside him. "We've been through a lot together haven't we old boy? We've both done things that we regret. If this is the end, then there is something you must know. We've been putting the conversation off long enough, because it makes both of us feel unpleasant. When I took Connor that night, it was because I wanted to protect you. You had suffered so much, and I didn't want you to have to be faced with the prospect of killing your own son. I don't know if this makes any difference, but I was never going to turn him over to Holtz. I was going to take him and raise him myself. I'm sorry that things went down the way they did. It hurts me to see you like this. It hurts all of us. You've come so far to just give up now. So it's time to do what you taught me to do. Stand and fight. I'm not the sniveling little wimp I used to be. I reached down to find things in myself that I never knew where there. You bring out the best in me. You bring out the best in all of us."

Spike is the last to pay Angel a visit. "Look at you, in that bed layin' around takin' it easy, while the rest of us have been out there worried sick about you. I ought to put my boot in your ass right now. Look at you. You've been on this Earth for 252 years battling monsters, demons, an evil law firm, and beings that claimed to be as powerful as the Almighty himself. And now you're gonna let some puny bus take you out? I don't think so. I was your apprentice, I've known you longer than anyone else. You've got a wife that loves you, not to mention a son in college, and a baby on the way. Those are things I would kill to have in my life. That's why you need to hang around. If for nothing else, than to rub my nose in it. It can't end now mate....Not like this."

Cordelia enters the hospital's chapel. She takes a seat in the first row. "God, it's me Cordelia. I know its been a long while since we last spoke, but I could really use some divine intervention here. The love of my life is in there hanging by a thread. We've fought so hard to be together that I don't know what I'd do without him. I come to you, because I don't know where else to turn. If you would be so kind as to guide Connor here, and help Angel out I would be very greatful."
Fred bursts into the chapel, "Cordy! Cordy! He's here. Connor made it."
Cordelia looks up to God, "Wow, you're better than Federal Express." She starts to leave and then comes back once more, "Oh, and thank you."

Connor wakes up in the recovery room, and looks around. "Did it work?"
Connor sits up and sees Angel in another bed to his left.
Gunn answers, "We don't know yet. Angel still hasn't woke up."
Wesley informs Connor, "The doctors weren't sure how long it would take. It's a matter of how quickly his body adapts to your blood being in it."
Anne walks up to Cordelia, "Can I get you anything?"
Cordelia answers, "No, thanks I'm fine. I'm just so glad you found Connor and were able to get him here. Now if Angel would just wake up."
"Ca...Ca...Cordy.." Angel mutters. Cordelia runs over and takes his hand, and holds it up to her face.
"I'm right here," Cordelia says. Angel looks around, but is still a little dazed and confused. Cordelia adds, "Welcome back."
"How long have I been out?" Angel asks.
Fred answers, "Almost 24 hours."
Lorne informs him, "We thought we almost lost ya big guy."
Spike asks, "What's the last thing you remember?"
Angel sits up trying to remember, "I was in some sort of building. Darla was there, and Druscilla, and Kate, and Eve, and Nina, and Buffy."
"Sort of like your own version of the dating game," Gunn chimes in.
"It was the First," Spike tells Angel. "It has arrived."
Connor says, "Tell me about it. I stopped because I thought I saw my mother on the side of the road. It turned out to be trap, and I ended up getting carjacked."
"Oh, about that crumbcake junior," Lorne breaking the news, "The cops found your car while you two were down for the count, and it was completely totalled."
"Don't worry, I'll buy you another one," Angel says.
"Cool," Connor responds.
"Did I say that?" Angel ponders. "I guess the anesthetic hasn't totally worn off yet."
"None of that matters right now. All that matters is that you're alive and well," Cordelia states. She then kisses him, and holds him in her arms. Cordelia then whispers in Angel's ear, "I thought I'd lost you."

The staff at Angel Investigations is preparing for a homecoming. After a week of rest and rehabilitation Angel is coming home. Fred and Wesley are standing on the tops of two ladders hanging a big "Welcome Home Angel" banner, as Lorne and Gunn supervise. "How's that?" Fred asks.
"Almost, got it sweetie," Lorne answers. "Uh, Wesley bring your end up a little more...There that's it. Perfectamundo."
"I sure hope Angel appreciates all the trouble we're going through," Gunn says.
"He's been through a big ordeal Charles, and we need to be supportive," Fred instructs. The guys hear a door slam. Cordelia and Connor enter with Angel.
Cordelia shouts, "We're home!"
The members of the Fang Gang all yell, "Surprise!" Fred loses her balance and falls off the ladder. The onlookers are shocked as Angel streaks across the room and is able to catch her before hitting the ground.
"How did he...." Gunn looks on in amazement.
"Funny thing, about blood transfusions," Angel announces. "It allowed me to get my powers back."
"How is that possible?" Lorne questions.
"We were kinda hoping Wesley and Fred would help us figure that part out," Connor tells him.

They run a variety of tests on Angel and sure enough the vampire strength, speed, agility, and heightened senses of hearing and smell were all there. Fred and Wesley took a small sample of blood and analyzed it under a microscope. "When Connor's vampiric/demony blood entered your system, it augmented your human DNA," Fred explains. "Angel this is a scientific breakthrough."
"So in other words he's just like Connor," Cordelia reasons. "He's got all of the vampire strengths and none of the weaknesses. This is awesome. Looks you're back in the game."
"How long do the effects last?" Angel asks.
Wesley informs him, "There's no real way of knowing since this has never happened before. It could last a few days, a few weeks, a year, or maybe permanent."
"I guess I just better enjoy it while it lasts then," Angel smiles.
"Enjoy what?" Spike asks as he enters the hotel.
"Angel's got his powers back," Gunn informs him. Spike heads for the weapons cabinet. Gunn stops him, "Nah, it ain't like that. Connor's blood was somehow able to give him back his vampire skills, without any of the weaknesses."
"Interesting experiment," Spike states. "Can I try it sometime?"
Cordelia retorts, "Sure, go out and get hit by a bus, and then we'll talk."

Meanwhile, across town there is a meeting going on in a very fancy eating establishment. In walks a man dressed in an entirely black suit from his fedora down to his boots. He walks to the table and meets a distinguished Los Angeles attorney, Holland Manners. "Thank you, for meeting me on such short notice. You are Jonathan Van Helsing, right?"
"Yes," Jonathan responds. "I understand you have some information for me Mr..."
"Manners, Holland Manners," Holland responds. "Yes. I've been a lawyer in this town for a long time. The firm I worked for used to represent clients of a supernatural nature. That's were you come in. We need your help."
"If you represent the creatures of the night, what makes you think I would help you?" Jonathan asks.
"We have a common enemy," Holland explain. "You see two of the four vampires that killed some of your ancestors are now living here in Los Angeles."
"Which two?" the young Van Helsing asks.
"Today they are called Angel and Spike," Holland states. "But back then, they were known as Angelus and William the Bloody."
"Tell me where to find them," Jonathan states.

(Flashback: 150 years ago)
Jonathan's great-great grandfather Ludwig Van Helsing and some of his followers were pursuing the fearsome foursome of Angelus, Darla, William the Bloody, and Druscilla through Eastern Europe. "Be very careful," Ludwig states. "These four are very, very dangerous." They search through a wooded area, and come across Darla and Druscilla.
Darla just smiles, "Well my, my, my. Druscilla, darling, I think we have company."
"All that pretty fire," Druscilla states. "It's a shame that it'll all be for nought." It's a trap. Angelus and William leap out at Van Helsing and his followers. The ladies also join in. The humans were no match and easily defeated. They then became like a seven course dinner for the vampire quartet.
"Van Helsing, eh?" Angelus boasts. "So much for the legend."
"I expected really more of a challenge," William adds while licking the blood from his lips.
"That was an absolutely wonderful meal," Druscilla states.
"We've had dinner, my love, now how about a little dessert?" Darla asks rather seductively.
Angelus and William each take their female counterparts and defile them in front of the corpses.

Back in modern times, Cordelia and Angel are walking through the garden outside staring up at the stars. "You know, I was just realizing something," Angel tells her.
Cordelia ponders, "What would that be?"
Angel responds, "How absolutely radiant you look in the moonlight. You've kind of got that whole motherly glow thing going on."
"I just hope I don't get as big as last time," Cordelia says.
"Well there's a difference," Angel states. "We know this time you're having an actual baby, and not a six foot tall black woman from another dimension bent on taking over the world by convincing everyone to be overly nice to one another."
"You know if I hadn't been involved with that personally and you would've told me that story, I'd swear you were talking about one of those awful "B" movies," Cordelia replies.
"Ahem," Lorne faking a cough to interrupt them. "Sorry to butt in guys, but there's someone in the lobby that's requested to see you, Angelcakes."
"Were you expecting any visitors this time of night?" Cordelia asks.
"Not that I'm aware of," Angel answers.

Angel and Cordelia walk into the lobby and see Jonathan Van Helsing standing there. Angel recognizes him because he looks are very similar to that of his great great grandfather. Jonathan steps forward, "Angelus, we meet at last." He then raises a crossbow to fire.
"Whoa, there sport," Cordelia advises and steps in front of him. "Angelus is dead. His name is Angel. He's not a vampire anymore, he's a human being."
"Cordy, get out of the way," Angel orders.
"No, I'm not letting him shoot you," Cordelia retorts.
"Remember I'm the one that had the blood transfusion," Angel reminds her. "I've got the better shot of surviving if an arrow is shot in this direction."
"Good point," Cordelia agrees. As she steps behind her husband.
"Not a vampire anymore?" Jonathan questions pulling a rifle from its holster. "That's not possible. A vampire can't just go back to being human."
"Well this one did," Wesley admonishes him. "He has a soul and a heartbeat, and he can breathe."
Fred continues, "We would love to explain all this, but it'd take a really long time, so could if you could just put the gun down."
"Yeah, man we can talk this out," Gunn says.
"There's nothing to discuss," Jonathan responds. "150 years ago, Angelus, Darla, William the Bloody, and Druscilla mercilessly slaughtered my ancestors. Our vow of vengeance has been passed down against all vampires from generation to generation."
"Then by all means, shoot us," Spike says as he enters with Connor. "Those of thus that are left can then file murder charges against you."
"We'll have to do a little test to see who's telling the truth," Jonathan informs them. He then moves his lips.
Angel responds, "Hey pal, that's my wife you're talking about there!"
"And the vampire is revealed," Jonathan smirks.
"What's he talking about?" Angel asks.
Lorne answers, "Ah, crumbcake, he just whispered that. None of the rest us heard a thing except for you."
"And me," Connor admits.
"Are you gonna let this guy talk about me like that?" Cordelia states. "I'm your wife, now get over there, flex your man-boobs at him, and defend my honor. I think the hormones are starting to kick in."
"That means there's only one thing left to do." Connor kicks the gun from Van Helsing's hand and Spike punches him. Angel gets Cordelia to safety behind the basement door and then goes after the vampire hunter.
Van Helsing picks his gun up and fires it at Connor and Spike and then at Wesley and Fred, and then at Gunn and Lorne. They manage to duck out of the way and run for cover. He sees Angel approaching and pulls out his crossbow. Jonathan fires an arrow at Angel, but Angel catches it right before it hits his chest. They fight, and Jonathan holds his own at first, but Angel gets the advantage and flings him into the wall. "Go ahead, and kill me, but more will be coming to take my place, " Jonathan states.
"I'm not gonna kill you," Angel said. "And we're not gonna do this. Now I'm sorry for what happened to your family, but I (looks at Spike) we were different back then."
"We've have a lot in common lad," Spike states. "We fight demons, monsters, and other creatures of the night."
Gunn gets up and says, "The only difference is we make some distinctions. We don't just kill because they are different than us. That ain't right."
Lorne advises, "I came from a dimension were all they did was fight. I entered through a portal to Los Angeles, and found happiness and great friends. You've still got time to change your ways, because if you continue on this path of hate, you're just going to wind up self destructing."
Wesley adds, "There are good creatures and bad creatures out there. You need to make a distinction. Just because someone or something is different from you doesn't mean you should kill it."
"These are good men," Fred pleads while pointing to Angel, Spike, and Connor.
Cordelia states while re-entering, "And if they weren't do you honestly think you'd still be breathing right now?"
Jonathan picks up his things and leaves as the sun rises. As things seem to go back to normal, he slips back in and grabs Spike. He drags Spike into the sunlight, but notices he's not burning up.
"Some people just never learn," Angel says as he punches Jonathan out. He then asks, "Honey, would you mind opening the front gate? I'd like to set this out for the garbage men."
"With pleasure," Cordelia opens the gate, and Angel tosses Jonathan outside.

Across the street, Holland has been sitting in a small diner, watching the proceedings. "Pity," he states. "I was hoping for a little more. So much for the family legacy. I guess all of the worthwhile Van Helsings are already dead."
Holland gets up from the table, leaves a tip, and then heads outside. As he turns the corner, Holland morphs into a female jogger.

Meanwhile, in their room, Wesley and Fred are in bed going over the overnight events in their minds. The phone rings, and Fred answers. "Wesley, it's for you."
Wesley answers, "Hello?...Father?...What do you want?"
