Content: C/A, some B/A (I’ll keep it to a minimum)
Summary: Everything goes AU after Angel and Cordelia leave the Library together. Takes place immediate as they leave.
Spoilers: Some Assembly Required (BTVS Season 2)
Disclaimer: The characters in the Angelverse were created by Joss Whedon & David Greenwalt. No infringement is intended, no profit is made.
Distribution: All you have to do is ask.
Notes: Answer to Jenilynn’s challenge (based on her dream) as below although I have changed a couple of things:

Took place during Some Assembly Required, Cordy asked Angel to take her home as it was in the script but when they leave the library she said something to the effect of "I just love getting a rise out of Buffy." She leaves Angel dumbfounded in the hall, curious he follows her home expecting to find the Chase mansion but encounters the Sunnydale Motel. (Cordy has lost everything as per season 3 with the exception of some clothes and her car.)
Moving on here were some scenes from the dream.
Angel confronts Cordy about her situation, Cordelia is flippant about it, (ie why should he care, he has Buffy....)
The two strike up a friendship, with late night rendevouz that are kept secret from the scoobies
A graveyard patrol where some more than friendship feelings are revealed
Then there was a Bronze scene were Cordy was dancing with some jock and Angel was there getting jealous, Willow walks up to him and was like 'Buffy's on patrol. seeing that he looked upset think it was about Buffy ' he was like 'yeah whatever,' he eyes were on Cordy. She goes back to the hotel where Angel is waiting for her. All pensive like 'how could you do that...Cordy was like you're still with Buffy." the heated argument lead to a kiss and them some more intimate scenes...then I woke up.

Feedback: Yes please

Part 1

“I just love getting a rise out of Buffy, did you see her face when we left together? You really should tell your girlfriend she does not look good in green”

“Huh?” Angel questioned.

“Just forget it Angel” Cordelia said, shaking her head. She started to walk off leaving the vampire dumbfounded in the hallway. After a few seconds Angel snapped out of his trance.

“Hey wait, I was meant to be taking you home” he called after her. She stopped and turned around to face him.

“Look, don’t worry about it, I’m fine. I mainly said that to piss off Buffy” Cordelia stated before continuing to walk down the hallway.

Angel jogged to catch up with her.

“Look, I guess it’s my fault you got into this tonight” Angel started before Cordelia cut him off.

”Oh you think? If you hadn’t been creeping around following me, I wouldn’t have had to hide in the dumpster in the first place. So yeah I guess it is kinda your fault, now that you mention it”

“Okay, it was my fault, I shouldn’t have been following you like that. I’m sorry! Now can you just let me take you home? I really don’t need another death on my conscious” Angel tried to reason with her.

“I should have known” She rolled her eyes “Yeah, whatever, you coming or not?”

They slipped into a silence, something Angel was very grateful for. Not another word was spoken until they reached her car.

Cordelia unlocked the car. Angel moved around to the passenger side and opened the door.

“I invite you into my car” Cordy said.

“Thank you, but you really don’t need to invite me into your car, unless you live in here or something?” Angel informed her.

“Of course I don’t! Why the hell would you think that?” She questioned.

“I didn’t think that, I was just making a point” Angel replied, fastening his seatbelt.

“I’ll have you know I live in a really big house, it’s the envy of half the neighbourhood” Cordelia stated, trying her best to be convincing, it seemed to work.

“I believe you, no need to get defensive” Angel replied, putting up his hands, indicating his wish to drop the subject.

“I wasn’t getting defensive” Cordy replied. “Pfft”

The pair slumped into a stony silence. ‘This ought to be a fun trip’ Angel thought as they continued on their journey.

A short while later, they pulled up outside Cordelia’s house.

“Well this is it, thanks for making sure I got home okay” Cordelia said, getting out of the car.

Angel got out as well. He gave the outside of the building a quick once over.

“Nice house” Angel said.

“Yeah, it is” Cordelia sighed. “See ya around” She started to make her way towards the front door.

“Yeah” Angel replied, still not moving. Something wasn’t quite right here. Cordelia seemed nervous and was desperate to get rid of him.

Cordelia stopped near the doorway. “I’m going in, I’m at the doorway. You can leave now”

“I’d thought I’d wait until you got inside, you know, just in case!” Angel stated.

‘Just leave already will ya!’ Cordy thought to herself. ‘God knows what will happen if the new owners of the house wake up’

“You really don’t have to do that” She said aloud. Taking a few more steps towards the door. She started to mess with the keys in her hand, to appear to be searching for the front door key.

“I don’t mind, honestly” Angel replied. Something definitely wasn’t right here. His curiosity was peaked.

“Well I do, just go will you” Cordy replied angrily. What happened to the Angel who couldn’t wait to get away from her? Where’d he go?

“Okay, I’m going, forgive me for wanting to make sure you get in safe” the vampire said.

“Whatever” was Cordy’s only reply.

“You know next time I don’t think I’ll bother” Angel snapped, turning to leave. God this girl was infuriating.

“Fine by me” Cordy snapped back. Refusing to back down now. She needed to keep her guard up, even if she was dying to go over there and tell the vampire everything.

With that, Angel started to walk down the driveway. He looked back over his shoulder and found himself on the receiving end of particularly nasty glare from Cordelia. “Why do I even bother?” he muttered to himself and he continued to walk away, not really caring now what the problem was with Cordelia Chase.

A couple of minutes later, Cordelia got back into her car “I thought he’d never leave” she said as she started up the ignition and reversed back out of the driveway. She sped off.

Angel appeared from behind a tree. ‘Now where’s she going? I knew she was up to something. Only one-way to find out’ he thought as he took off after her. He jumped on the back of a passing truck.

Angel was rather shocked to say the least when he saw Cordelia pull into the Sunnydale Motel parking lot. This place was a total dive, even he wouldn’t consider staying here.

Cordy got out of the car, opened the trunk, pulling out a bag with her school stuff in it. She closed the trunk and headed off towards one of the rooms. Angel followed her, keeping a safe distance between them until she reached one of the doors. He silently came up right behind her.

“Cordelia, what are you doing?” Angel questioned.

The young woman let out a yelp. She spun around, already knowing who it was behind her. Didn’t he just ever go away?

“For god’s sake Angel, that’s twice in one night, what are you trying to do, give me a heart attack?” she practically screamed in his face.

“Sorry” Angel replied. “What are you doing here?”

‘I lived here to you dumbass’ she wanted to say but went for a lie instead. “I felt a little creeped out at home so I thought I’d stay here tonight and how are you here? Please tell me you did not follow me?”

“I did follow you Cordelia. I was worried about you” Angel tried

“Pfft, you were worried about me? I doubt that very much Mister I’m too wrapped up in Buffy Summers to even notice anyone else. Do I look like Buffy to you? No, I have brown hair not bleached blonde. I’m taller and the last time I checked I wasn’t a vampire slayer but that doesn’t mean I don’t know how to kill vampires”. She paused for a second. “So why don’t you run along and go bother her. I’m sure she’d lap up the attention”.

“Whatever” Angel replied, shaking his head.

“Well I’m here now so you can leave again” Cordy announced, opening the room door, she stepped inside.

Angel tried to follow her in but was blocked by the invisible barrier ‘Interesting’ he thought to himself.

Cordelia put her bag down and turned around to face the vampire.

“See I’m all safe inside now, good night” She slammed the door in his face.

“Tell me this Cordelia, if you just decided to stay here tonight at the last minute, how come you had a key to this room already and I couldn’t follow you in cause I need an invite” Angel shouted through the door.

The door opened again. Cordelia stood there with her hands on her hips. “Excuse me?”

“I can’t get in” Angel said.

“That’s because I just slammed the door in your face” Cordy tried.

“Nope, before the door slamming, which was quite rude I might add” Angel continued. “I tired to get in but guess what?”

“I have no frigging idea!! What?” Cordelia replied.

“I couldn’t because somebody lives here!” Angel stated. “It’s a public motel, I should be able to get in there”.

“Well, its not me” Cordy lied. “Maybe the owner loves this place so much he thinks of every room as his home”

“I doubt that” Angel said, “Anyway there’s an easy way to test that theory”

“And what might that be?” Cordelia questioned. ‘Just go away and stop pretending you care’.

“Invite me in” Angel stated.

“Pftt, I’m not going to invite you in. That won’t work. I don’t live here” Cordelia tried one more time. Doubting it would work. When his guy got his teeth into something, he didn’t let go, well duh, he was a vampire.

“Okay that’s the third time you’ve pffted me this evening, its getting annoying, all you have to invite me in and if I still can’t get in, I’ll leave”

“Don’t do me any favours!” Cordelia muttered.

Angel just glared at her.

“Okay, okay, I invite you in” she conceded.

Angel stepped forward and entered the room. The barrier had vanished.

“Great, so now you know my little secret you can leave me the hell alone. I believe you’re familiar with the door!” Cordelia said, hoping she was finally getting rid of Buffy’s boyfriend.

“I don’t understand! You live here? Why do you live here?” Angel asked in disbelief.

“Because I just love living in a crap hole” Cordy replied, her voice dripping with sarcasm.

Angel raised a questioning eyebrow.

“Okay, the truth is I’m practically broke. I can barely afford the rent on this room” Cordy admitted. The sarcasm that was present in her voice only a moment ago had totally vanished. She felt relief at the fact, she couldn’t finally tell somebody. Even if it was Angel!

“I don’t understand, I thought your parents were loaded?” Angel asked. Totally confused by her admission.

“There are, or at least they were until the IRS started to investigate Daddy. Just because he made a tiny mistake on his tax return for the last .. ever. They took everything. The only good thing was Daddy got a tip off and managed to transfer some money into one of my accounts and he put the car in my name before him and mom left the country for god knows where”

“They just left you here alone?” Angel questioned.

“Yeah, they needed someone to deal with the IRS” Cordelia answered.

“Nice parents you have Cordelia” Angel stated.

“Well, at least I got the car, although I might have to sell that pretty soon, if I get some more money from somewhere and I love that car!” She said.

“Does anyone else know?” Angel asked.

“No and you can’t tell them” Cordelia replied.

“Okay I’ll keep quiet for now” Angel answered. God know what would happen if Xander got hold of this little piece of information. The way he’d spoken to her in the school library had pissed him off for some reason but then again everything that Xander did pissed him off. Why Buffy even bothered with him was beyond Angel.

“Well, seeing as you are here, you might as well make yourself useful” Cordelia stated.

“What do you want me to do?” Angel questioned.

“I need help with my history assignment” Cordy replied, she reached forward and picked up her bag.

“Oh, what’s it about?” the vampire enquired.

“18th century woman’s clothing” Cordelia replied, getting some of her stuff out of the bag. She handed a folder to Angel. “The assignments on the first page in there, can you have a look at it while I go take a shower and get changed. I really don’t want to stay in these clothes any longer. I know I said I was going to burn them but I really can’t afford to do that”.

“Sure, I’ll just be reading this. You’re in luck I’m an expert on 18th century dresses or more precisely how to remove them” Angel admitted. He removed his jacket and said down on a nearby chair.

“Okay, one, that was too much information and two, does Buffy know about this?” Cordy questioned, raising an eyebrow.

“No, she doesn’t and you can’t tell her either, its one of my dark secrets. I won’t tell them about you if you don’t tell them about me. Deal?” Angel offered.

“Deal” Cordy responded before she headed towards the bathroom to take a shower.

She returned about twenty minutes later. Feeling a lot better for the shower. She found Angel, were she had left him, but he was now looking at something really intently.

“What ya doing?” She asked.

“I’m just looking at some sketches I did for you, you know of some dresses.” He picked up the pieces of paper and passed them to her.

“Wow, you drew these? These are good” Cordy said, really impressed by what the vampire had drawn. The dresses were so pretty.

“Thanks” Angel replied. “They’re nothing special, but I thought you could get a better idea for the look of the clothing if you could see it”

“Thank you” Cordelia replied, flashing him a bright smile.

“Is it okay if I take these to class with me? I could say they were drawn by someone from the 18th century, which wouldn’t be a lie. Maybe I won’t get an F after all!” Cordy stated.

“Why did you think you’d get an F?” Angel enquired.

“Well you see, we have this really lame History teacher, who just loves making us do stupid stuff. So we were each giving an assignment about clothing over a different time period. I got 18th century woman’s clothing. I was meant to dress up in some too but I don’t have enough money to even hire a dress from the costume store”.

“So what were you going to do?” Angel asked.

“Lie of course, tell him that the costume store was all out of dresses and I didn’t have time to make my own” Cordelia replied.

“Well it’s getting late, I better get going” Angel said.

“Isn’t that just typical, the first time in the evening that I don’t want you to leave and you decide you gotta go” she blew out a breath.

“I thought you couldn’t wait to get rid of me?” Angel questioned.

“I couldn’t, that was before I asked you to help me with my assignment” Cordelia replied, not stated the fact she was actually enjoying his company, telling him things about her that nobody else knew, even if they were crappy, horrible things like how broke she was.

“Oh” Angel replied. Was that a hint of disappointment in his voice?

“Thanks for your help and don’t worry, you’re secret is safe with me” Cordy smiled at him as she finished her sentence.

“As is yours” Angel answered. He picked up his coat. “Goodnight Cordelia”

“Goodnight Angel” Cordy said as she shut the door behind him. He was finally gone, she’d been trying for ages to get rid of him. So how come she was kinda sad now he had left? Oh the sharing of the secrets. Of course!

Angel headed back to his apartment, still wondering how Cordelia’s parents could have just leave her like that.

Part 2

The following evening Sunnydale High Library

Buffy, Giles, Xander and Willow were all sat around the table researching about zombies. There was a totally silence in the room. A silence, that was soon to be broken.

Cordelia walked in, the library doors opening with a crash. Everybody turned around to see who had just entered.

“Oh it just Cordelia” Xander stated not bothering to hid his disappointment.

Cordelia rolled her eyes. “Who were you expecting?”

“Angel actually” Buffy replied. “He said he’d be here ten minutes ago. He isn’t usually late”

“Maybe he came to his senses and decided to ditch you losers!” Cordy stated. She hopped onto the counter, swinging her legs wildly.

“Did Daddy send you to finishing school to learn how to be such a bitch or does it just come naturally?” Buffy asked just as Angel entered the library just managing to pick up the tail end of the conversation.

Cordelia didn’t verbally respond, she just shot the slayer a death stare.

“Hey” Angel said to Cordelia.

“Hey” Cordelia replied, flashing him a quick smile.

“I have something for you, can I drop by after we’ve finished here?” Angel whispered.

“Sure” Cordy answered, wondering what Angel could possible have for her. Maybe it was some more sketches. One thing was for certain until he came by later on the suspense was going to kill her.

“You’re late” Buffy stated.

“Erm, yeah I had something I needed to do first. It took a little longer than I thought it would. I’m only ten minutes late.” Angel replied.

“What was that?” Buffy asked.

“Just something I had to take care of, nothing for you to worry about” Angel replied. “So anything new on the zombie thing?” He asked, clearly trying to change the subject.

“Not yet, we were just about to patrol and now you’re here, we can” Buffy said.

Angel turn around to face Cordelia. “You coming?”

Before Cordy could reply Xander starting laughing loudly in the background. “Cordelia going on patrol. That’s a good one”

“Well I wasn’t going to but seeing as me coming it such a big joke I think I might just have to tag along” Cordelia responded. Xander really knew how to piss her off quicker than anybody else she knew.

“Aren’t you going to the Bronze tonight Cordelia?” Willow asked.

‘Somebody else trying to get rid of Cordelia! What was up with that?’ Angel thought to himself.

“No, I’m giving the place a miss tonight” Cordelia replied.

“Great just what we need, Queen C on patrol” Buffy muttered as she walked up to Angel. “You ready to go?”

“Yeah” Angel replied.

Cordelia slid off the counter. “I’m ready”

“Wow, that’s the best news I’ve heard all day” Xander said sarcastically. “Are you sure you haven’t got anything better to do?”

Cordelia rolled her eyes. “Whatever”

“Willow and Giles are staying here, you could help with the research?” Buffy questioned, making one last ditch attempt to prevent Cordelia from coming with them.

Giles shot the slayer a ‘thanks a lot’ look, which Buffy ignored.

“Research is boring” Cordy replied.

“Fine, if you insist on coming, just stay out of trouble. I really don’t need to look out for another person” Buffy stated.

“I’m sure Angel will make sure I’m okay, won’t ya Angel?” Cordelia said.

“Erm, yeah” Angel responded. Receiving a stony glance from the slayer for his trouble.

“So are you going to tell me what you were doing, or is it a surprise?” Buffy pressed him for an answer.

“I had to pick up some blood, okay? No big deal” Angel stated.

“Oh okay” Buffy replied, satisfied with her boyfriend’s reason for being late. She hooked her arm around Angel’s.

Cordy was tempted to hook her arm around Angel’s another arm but thought better of it.

“I’ll drive us to the graveyard” Cordy announced.

“I guess her coming does have some advantages, cuts down on journey time!” Xander stated.

“One more snippy remark and you’re walking Xander” Cordy said as they all left the library.

“Who would have thought Cordy would want to patrol!” Willow comment.

“Very strange indeed” Giles said. “Now where were we up to?”

Willow turned her attention back to the computer screen

Sunnydale High Parking lot

“You going to ride in the front Angel?” Cordy asked.

“Sure” Angel replied.

Cordelia noticed the pouty face Buffy made and had to repress a smirk. ‘That’s right Buffy, your boyfriends in the front with me’

Xander and Buffy got in the back and Cordelia started up the car. She pulled off the car park heading for the graveyard.

A few minutes later they arrived.

“Cordy, you stay here with the car” the slayer said.

“No way” Cordelia protested. “I’m not staying here by myself. With my luck a vampire would sneak up on me while you guys are on the other side of the gravevard”

“And that’s a bad thing because?” Xander asked. He could think of a single reason himself.

“Shut up Xander, nobody cares what you think!” Cordy snapped back.

The foursome started to walk through along the path running throughout the graveyard.

“So are you looking for anything in particular or is it just a general stake out?” Cordy asked loudly.

“Keep your voice down Cordelia, I don’t think all the vampires quite heard us sneaking up on them” Buffy said sarcastically.

“Whatever” Cordelia rolled her eyes.

“I knew she should have stayed in the ………” Xander started before disappearing into an unseen hole in the ground. “Ow”

“Xander are you okay?” Buffy said, peering into the hole.

“I’m okay, I just can’t get back up” Xander said.

“I have a rope my car” Cordy said.

“Well don’t just stand there, go get it” Buffy replied.

“I’m not going back to the car by myself” Cordy stated. “Angel, will you come with me?”

“Okay, we’ll be back in a minute Buffy” Angel told his girlfriend, he and Cordelia started to walk off.

“I’m not going by myself, oh Angel will you come with me? Give me a break” Buffy muttered. Forgetting that with Angel’s vampire hearing, he could hear every word.

“So what time are you coming around tonight?” Cordy enquired.

“Straight after we’ve finished here” Angel replied.

“You going to give me a hint about my surprise?” Cordy asked.

“If I told you it wouldn’t be a surprise now would it?” Angel said, rolling his eyes.

“Not even a teeny weeny hint?” Cordelia whined.

“Nope” Angel replied as they reached the car. “Where’s your rope?”

“In the trunk” Cordy answered. She opened the trunk and pulled out the rope, handing it to Angel.

“So how come you have rope in your car anyway?” Angel asked.

“Daddy insisted on it” Cordelia replied. “Just in case”

“Oh” was Angel only reply. Maybe Mr Chase did have some parental concern after all.

“Well we better get back to Xander. Although, I’d really love to leave him down there personally” Cordy said.

“Me too” Angel agreed with just a hint of a smile on his handsome face.

Cordy flashed him her 100 watt smile.

They returned to Buffy’s position. Angel passed Buffy the rope.

“Thanks” Buffy replied. She threw the rope down to Xander, who began to pull himself up.

“Drop the rope” Cordy whispered to Angel.

Angel sniggered.

The rest of the patrol was uneventful. The group returned to Cordelia’s car.

She dropped Xander off first at his house. He said goodbye to Buffy, grunted at Angel and muttered something to Cordelia about being thankful for the ride.

“I’ll drop you off next Buffy” Cordelia said.

“Okay, Angel are you coming in for a while?” Buffy questioned.

“I can’t tonight” Angel replied. “I have some stuff to do”

“Such as?” Buffy asked.

“What is this, the third degree?” Angel said.

“No, just wondering. I’ll see ya tomorrow then” Buffy said as Cordy pulled up outside the slayer’s house.

Buffy got out of the car, as did Angel. “Sorry for snapping” he said, taking her hand in his.

“Its okay” Buffy replied, pulling Angel in for a quick kiss.

“Er hello, I haven’t got all night!” Cordy shouted from the car.

“I better go, I’ll see you tomorrow” Angel said.

“You can count on” Buffy replied.

Buffy walked off, heading towards the door. Once there, she turned around, waving to her boyfriend. Angel waved in return and got back into the car.

“Thank god I thought I was going to barf” Cordy said.

“Cordelia!” Angel said. Letting her know that he found her last comment unnecessary.

“Sorry” Cordy replied. “So do you want to go straight to my place?”

“Can we go down to the docks first? I gotta go pick up some blood!” Angel said

“I thought you picked up your blood earlier? Isn’t that what you told Buffy?” Cordelia asked, raising an eyebrow.

“Well I didn’t, I was picking up your surprise. I could hardly tell Buffy that could I?” Angel said. “And the surprise to at my place so we need to go there afterwards”

A smile spread across Cordelia face. “The docks it is then”. She sped off.

After a quick trip to the docks they pulled up outside Angel’s apartment a short while later.

“You wanna come in?” Angel enquired tentatively.

“Sure” Cordy replied. “Let’s go”

They got out of the car and headed towards the door.

Angel pulled out his key and inserted it into the lock. He opened the door and walked inside, waiting for Cordelia to follow but she didn’t.

He scrunched up his brow. “You not coming in?”

“I was just waiting for you to invite me in” Cordelia replied with a smile.

“Are you?” Angel asked.

“Yeah, I figured that you’re invited into my place so I thought you could invite me to your place” Cordy said.

“Okay, I invite you in” Angel said, still a little puzzled by the girl’s behaviour.

“Thank you” Cordy said, stepping inside. “Nice place you have here”

“Its just simple, nothing special really” Angel replied.

“Compared to my place, this place is heaven!” Cordy stated.

Angel frowned. “I guess it’s hard after what you’re used it”

“Yeah I now live in motel hell” Cordy said. “So where’s this surprise of mine?”

“I’ll just go get it, take a seat” Angel said, pointing to the couch. He disappeared for a moment and returned carrying dry cleaning dress bag.

“What’s in the bag?” Cordy enquired.

“Why don’t you open it and find out?” Angel replied.

“Okay” Cordelia eagerly started to undo the zip.

She opened the bag to reveal a stunning 18th Century dress. My main body of the dress was white silk. With a forest green back made out of velvet.

“Oh Angel, it’s beautiful. Where did you get it? The costume store?” Cordelia asked.

“No, actually its mine. It’s a genuine dress” Angel replied.

“Okay Angel is there something you want to tell me?” Cordy giggled.

“Well obviously I don’t wear it” Angel stated.

“I should hope not” Cordy replied.

“I never got a chance to give it to the person it was meant for so I kept it” Angel stated.

“Oh, actually that’s quite sad” Cordelia noted.

“Whatever, it’s going to have some use anyway now. Going to get you an A!” Angel replied.

“And with me wearing this dress I might even get an A plus” Cordy said. “I gotta try this on. Can I try it on?”

“Sure, you can change in the other room over there” Angel pointed to a door off the main room.”

“Thanks” Cordelia said, taking the bag and heading towards the door. She opened it and disappeared inside.

A few moments later she opened the door, sticking her head around it. “Angel, can you help me for a sec”

“Okay” Angel replied, getting up off the couch.

He entered the other room, finding Cordelia waiting for him.

“Can you do me up?” She enquired.

“Okay but I have to warn you, getting you out of the dress is more my line of expertise”

“Oh right, cause that’s your thing” She replied.

“Yeah my thing” Angel agreed, helping her to fasten the back of the dress.

She turned around. “So how do I look?”

Angel swallowed hard. “You look erm, erm …. Beautiful” he finally managed.

“Well duh!” Cordy replied.

“It fits you perfectly” Angel continued.

“Thanks but how about you do your thing and get this baby back off me now” Cordelia blushed. “Didn’t that come out wrong” She let out an embarrassed giggle.

“I knew what you meant, I ‘ll just undo the back for you” Angel said. She set about his task with a great speed. He was starting to feel slightly uncomfortable being this close to her all of a sudden.

“What time is it?” Cordy asked.

“Nearly 1 am” Angel replied.

“Oh I had no idea it was that late!” Cordelia stated.

“Trouble with late night patrol” Angel answered.

“I better get going” Cordy said. “I’ll just get changed”

“You could stay here tonight” Angel offered, for no sane reason he could think of.

“Oh I couldn’t possibly!” Cordy said. Not meaning a word of it. She would rather stay anyway than that crappy motel room.

“Sure you could. I’ll take the couch. You can have the bed. As you can see this bed isn’t made up. I’m not exactly big on having visitors!” Angel said.

“If you put it like that, how can I refuse? Can I just grab a quick shower then before I go to bed? The water at my place isn’t exactly the clearest”

“Yeah” Angel replied, he was starting to look a little nervous.

“Don’t worry I have my own shampoo, wouldn’t want to steal any of yours” She smiled at him.

“Well aren’t you just the little girl scout” Angel joked.

“Be prepared, that’s me” Cordy replied. “Have you got a shirt or something I can sleep in?”

“Yeah, I’ll go get you one” Angel said. “Just a sec”

He left the room, Cordelia wasn’t sure why Angel was being so nice to her, she was just glad he was.

He returned a few moments later carrying a black shirt and a robe. He handed the robe to her.

“I thought you could change into this until you have the shower” He said.

“Thanks” Cordelia replied, taking the robe from him.

“I’ll just be outside” Angel said.

“Okay thanks” Cordy replied.

Angel returned to the main room again.

Cordelia removed the dress and put it back in the bag. She wrapped Angel’s robe around her and opened the door.

“I won’t be long” She stated, as she headed towards the bathroom.

“Take your time” Angel replied as she went into the bathroom.

Twenty minutes later she came out wearing just his shirt. Oh boy did she have long legs, perfectly tanned, well shaped long legs.

“I feel a lot better now” She said walking up to him. “Thanks for letting me stay” She leaned in a gave him a quick kiss on the cheek “And thanks for the dress of course”

“You’re welcome” Angel replied, a little taken aback by the kiss. He certainly wasn’t expecting that.

“Good night Angel” She said.

“Good night Cordelia” Angel replied.

She climbed in between the sheets and was soon in a peaceful slumber. Angel noted how relaxed she looked.
