Pen name at ST: Tonya

Also known as: um... Tonya, and the poster formerly known as "crzygrrl"

When did you start writing C/A fanfic and what drew you to write about the relationship?: I started writing C/A about mid-season one, right after "Hero". At the time, I loved the friendship vibes between the two-- how these two characters who barely interacted in Sunnydale could suddenly be the best of friends.

Are there any other fandoms/pairings for which you write?: My very first fanfics were Roswell related, but once I got turned on to C/A fiction, that was it. Now, I find myself delving into a little Angel/Lilah writing. Seriously, don't ask! :o)

Which style do you enjoy writing the most?: I love writing humor, but it's kind of hard for me. For some odd reason, I'm better at angst and drama. Does that mean I'm a depressing person? I also love writing POVs, and not surprisingly, most of those POVs are angsty.

Which C/A story of your own is your personal favourite and why?: Jeez... that's a toughie. I would have to say "Mistakes" because it was the first time I dealt with the idea of Cordelia taking a human life. I just liked that one. But I also love "A Life Less Ordinary", which was just some pre-Connor speculation of mine.

Do you have any writing tips or tricks you would like to share?: I try to write my stories like they could be actual episodes. It helps when I'm drawing a blank or I'm not liking the way my dialogue is going. I just try to think, "Would the character really say/do that on the show?" I feel like such a dork admitting this, but I read my stories aloud when I proofread. It sounds silly, but it helps. If I can't read the story smoothly aloud, then something has to change until I can. And it helps to pick up on grammatical errors-- even though I still miss them at times.
