WP you make good points. Permit me to add another:

Buffy-Faith as Wes/Gunn PALS. I know ED gets the "sexy" bit all the time because of the way she looks, yet I personally would have liked to have seen Buffy and Faith just get "silly" by egging each other on to more and more ridiculous schemes that land them into and out of trouble. Not "Bad girls" let's be sexy stuff, but more "wow let's embrace our inner idiot for a while." Butch and Sundance kinda stuff.

I always thought there was more to what they could have done there.

Guys, let's not get too wanky, uhkay? And leaving other boards' troubles where they started -- whether actual posts or other people's opinions -- is kinda the one big rule around here. It's one thing to vent a little, but another to constantly bring up bashing from unnamed Elsewheres and recycle it here.

I've said it before, I'll say it again: Chemistry is all in the eye of the beholder. There are people who think ConCord was all about the chemistry, even though if I were going to pick one absolutely chemistry-free pairing, to the point the participants were admitting the chemistry-freeness of the pairing, it'd be that one.

As for the rest, 'shipper wars are boring.

My own view...

Angel/Buffy: The whole cliche of the very young girl falling for the mysterious older guy worked the best it could, but it never moved beyond that and was just monotonous.

SMG would try hard (and you can see the trying, it didn't seem natural), but DB would just be so not there. It was like two different kinds of bricks being smashed together. No Chemistry

SMG had chemistry with Eliza Dushku and James Marsters.

Angel/Cordelia: Now with Cordelia's brutal honesty and, well, backbone against Angel's self-righteous, broody nature, there was alot of lightening.

Chemistry between DB's Angel and another character usually, to me, relies on the other because I rarely find DB to be of the scintillating variety (though I think he can boost off select people). No offense to SMG, but CC just has a kind of sophistication SMG lacks in acting which I think even outshines her apparent uneasiness(?) about kissing on tv (been playing catch-up with past episodes, too). Whatever DB as Angel lacked, she provided. Chemistry

DB had chemistry with JB.

ASH and EC: Chemistry
AA and Alyson Hannigan: Chemistry
AA and JM: Chemistry
EC and JM: Chemistry
MT and JM: Chemistry
MT and NB: Chemistry
KS and JM: Chemistry
NB and JM: Chemistry
DB and JM: Chemistry
crypt door and JM: Chemistry

Eve: No offense to Sarah Thompson, I honestly don't know if it was just because she was a poor choice for the role or what cause I only saw her briefly on BP, but she just didn't spark and I couldn't take her seriously. Though I guess it didn't help to be brought in after Stephanie Romonav, either.

Eve/Lindsey: Ohio/Nebraska? Would have better chemistry than they.

No chemistry (Eve/anybody)

Yeah, I think I read an interview with her talking about kissing Groo, and she said she was more comfortable with DB. I'm paraphrasing but it was something to that effect.

I wonder if she picked up her onscreen kissing style from her days on "All My Children". It certainly sounds like soap opera style kissing. At least on all the soaps I've seen anyway, and I've seen them all at one time or another over the years.

Other than the two women both being blonde (which we all know isn't natural for SMG) and the two men having dark, spikey hair I don't see a resemblance at all.

I always thought that NB had a natural, easy-going chemistry with damn near anybody that was placed within arm's reach. CC, AH, SMG, ED, EC JL in vampface make-up...even what's-her-name from Beneath You, before she ran screaming away from all the "freaks." Ashantii, on the other hand...well, at least she has a day job. It's always amused me that, after The Freshman first aired, more than a few people commented on how MB had better chemistry with AH-D, and SMG with NB (enough that a few diehard B/A'ers I knew said, "now I could see B/X happening"), than they did with each other. And I think NB played some of the best "first kiss/encounters" scenes in the whole 'verse, that mix of nervousness, interest, and anticipation, with his scenes with AH-D in Homecoming, ED in The Zeppo, and EC in THLoD.

I must agree with the AD/AA "forced" votes. I think that was a case of Joss thinking, "Well, if I like her, everybody will!"

CC and DB? Yup. SR and AD? Double yup.

Yes! I love Mason and Daisy. At first, I didn't care, but by the end of Season 1, I was all about their interaction. And I've really warmed up to Daisy. I was not into her at first since she replaced -- my favorite reaper -- Betty. She then got some depth, and I love her Cordelia-esque observations. The one on Romeo & Juliet was classic. And while we're on the Ho!Yay! topic, neither Wes nor Gunn had better chemistry with anyone on the show than they did with each other.
Yes.

I know that I've just never heard a C/Aer use the term "Cangel"...

And you'll never hear this one use it. The combining of names has always struck me as silly, but sometimes it works. (Spuffy is fine with me. Although, why didn't they ever call it Bike?) Plus, all the initials (C/A, S/B, T/W, G/J, A/D) can get confusing. Then, when you get consider all the characters with the same first initials (Fred and Faith, Willow and Wesley, Darla, Dru, and Doyle, etc.) you're really in the alphabet soup.

But C/A will always be C/A to me. Cangel just sounds...not right.

It just doesn't have the same ring to it as Spuffy or Spawn or Florne. Some name combos work, some don't. I don't particularly care for Bangel either or SMeggy's. I think that's why most C/A shippers just refer to themselves as C/A shippers. It's not *wrong8 in any way to use Cangel, just unpopular.

Personaly when I see it, i always think of the word "Cackle" so it has no positive affiliations in my brain. Now, take Florne for instance. It rhyms with porn, and my brain immediatly goes to it's happy place.

What Filly said.

Besides (and this is just me) but the term is too close to Bangel and I don't want to be associated with anything B/A related (except Jennem, cause she's all cute and snuggly).
