I dig Roma Downey in this. She should join the cast. Although I spend a good majority of the time trying to figure out whether or not she's trying to suppress her accent. Sometimes it seems like she is, and others not so much so.

That moment in the parking lot when she wailed "Oh, he's dead!" was piercing. It was as if she not only was reliving her husband getting his head blown off in front of her, but the finality of it had hit home at the same time. Just stunning.

i was impressed.

very understated and realistic, i knew she would do very well in straight drama. i'm so happy they didn't glam her up. very minimal make-up and still she looked damn good, and acted better.

i'm glad that they had her in a wheelchair throughout the whole show, and not up and walking around. (8 years in a coma wouild make your muscles very, very weak)

Nancy McKeon is off for maternity leave, (i think in real life) that's why they brought Roma Downey in for 3 episodes.

i recorded this on the same tape with miss match 2, and while i was rewinding, i couldn't resist stoping to get one of my favorite lines

This is just going to have to be a quick FB for me tonight, need to get to bed.....

I thought Charisma was wonderful!!! She had me in tears.... She really made me feel for Emma.... The poor woman was so happy and in only a few min had everything taken away from her...... The ending with her sister and son at the hospital was WOW.......

Another really memorable moment was soon after Emma woke up, when Amy Jo Johnson's character came to visit her as police liaison. They didn't cheat on what an eight-year coma patient would be capable of doing -- she'd been rolled onto her side (as they'd doubtless been doing for years as a precaution against bedsores) and couldn't move to face anyone, she plainly was having trouble focusing her eyes (blindness and/or near-blindness are a test for any actor, and CC pulled it off with flying colors), even her voice sounded rusty and out-of-use, and her face looked so stricken and vulnerable.

"I have all these memories, and everyone in them is dead." Honestly, I thought Emma herself might die before the end of the episode, not by her would-be killer's hand but because the stress of being plunged back into a life she no longer recognized was too much for her. Her little portion of happiness at the end felt well earned as a result.

she did a fantastic job!! not many actresses will do any scenes w/o make-up but she did it and still managed to look beautiful! i just wish she had been in more.

I also completely forgot! Grrr. And I was home just doing home stuff. Is there possibly a re-air date? I know some cable shows do that.

All I can add to everyone else's comments is to say that Charisma never fails to impress me. I knew how wonderful she was in comedic roles, but now I know how fantastic she can be in dramatic roles, as well.

She took on a difficult role at best, playing someone who has lost everything and everyone, to some extent. Charisma came in and completely owned that part, she played it perfectly, from the ecstatic young wife celebrating her anniversary to the broken woman facing the reality that, for all intents and purposes, her life is over as she knew it. She really shined in her portrayal of the two women she played (the before the shooting and the after the shooting Emma).

I agree with SamIAm in that I don't think there is anyone out there who can say that CC can't do drama. She had me all teary-eyed in that final scene with Emma's sister and son. Very few actresses, or actors, out there get any tears out of me because I'm not invested in the situation enough to care on that level, but Charisma drew me in and broke my heart. I hope to see her expanding her talents even more in the future.

Saw it. Taped it. Loved it.

And, like I said before, this shows puts guest stars through their paces, usually giving them some pretty emotional stuff to play. And I loved CC's acting choice. The fact that she was so subdued telegraphed her pain more completely than if she'd been over the top. In her first scene with AJJ, when she was talking about how she had all these memories, and everyone in them was dead, it just killed me.

Anyway, I'm so proud of CC right now. In just an hour, I completely believed she was a woman who'd lost 8 years, her husband, her entire life, and might even have to lose her son.

Editted to add that, after watching the show, it's kinda weird to see these avatars with her all glammed up. That tells you how into the ep I was.

Charisma was fantastic, I loved how understated it all was on her part -- this quiet fragility but also a lot of strength in Emma. The end with the sister and her son coming made me all weepy.

to those who missed it, i'm sorry, but you may have a long wait.

lately they have been running 3 new episodes and 1 rerun per month. tonights episode was episode 14 for this season, that leaves 8 to go, so about 2 1/2 months till end of season, and the rerun for this month is only episode 3. so barring a change of their policy, i wouldn't expect to see this show rerun till sometime next fall.
keep your eyes on tv tome. the 'division' editor usually lists when reruns are broadcast, sometimes 2-3 weeks ahead of time. division link

there is a petition to get lifetime to rerun this show during the week, the link is
here

We all knew Charisma could act, but after this show, I was simply floored.
Her telling what happened at the hospital and in the parking lot was so heartbreaking...I felt the need to clutch at my heart for nearly the entire eppy.
the performance was so moving and sad..I still feel moved by it.

Her performance was absolutely beautiful. Being on the show without make-up really says something about attitude and magnitude of being such a wonderful actress.

this has to one of my favorite performances by her. Dramatic, comedy...she can do it all... Take that ass-hat.

Simply amazing.

Unfortunately, I only got to see a very little bit of the show. Just a part of the scene with CC and Amy Jo Johnson. However, in that little scene, CC was tremendous. Poor Emma looked like hell. Nice and realistic. On a personal note though, there was one thought running through my head the entire time- Someone get that poor woman some lip balm! Poor Emma's lips were so terribly cracked it looked painful. But that's probably just my little thing because I NEVER go anywhere without lip balm. Ever. Topic? Right, nice work by CC. See, Whedon? That's called good dramatic writing. The crap you and your henchmen gave her is not.

Gah! She had me in tears. She was so good. I was amazed by her performance. I wanted to see more. I felt cheated by the Roma Downey story stealing from Charisma's time.

I took Tojoson's advice and watched last week, so I was already wrapped up in Roma's story, but tonight it didn't matter. I'll probably watch next week now for closure.

I was so compelled by Charisma, she did great! I'd love to see her bite off more dramatic roles. She rocks! She's beautiful even sans makeup, fragile and in pain. Wow.

Who can we write to to let them know how fabulous she was?

I was really impressed.
