What a terrible loss. My thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends.

What a long, good life he lived. He'll be remembered so well by so many - especially the charities that will continue to benefit from the Newman's Own profits. Rest in peace, Mr. Newman.

"Yeah, well, sometimes nothin' can be a real cool hand."
One of the truly great ones, personally as well as professionally.

As a self-stated "anti-hero" Paul Newman raised over $200 million for charity through 'Newman's Own' to fund his 'Hole in the Wall' camps; married for almost fifty years in Hollywood; felt it was one of his greatest accomplishments to be named to Richard Nixon's enemies list. Even at age 83 it's a surprising loss.

All life has meaning but it's rare, imo, to find a life this well lived. I hope he rests well, and I hope his family is comforted by the quality and longevity of his life, even if his absence is acute.
