And I think "The Pretender" as well.
I liked the show with Weiss but I don't think I'll watch this new JW'show and I don't like the cast really much, sorry.

Word from on high (that being Whedon at Whedonesque) is Fox wasn't thrilled with the pilot, so he's shooting a new pilot for them. It would appear the Minear Effect is in full-force.

Actually, it sounds as if Fox may shut this one down before airing a single episode. Which would be a new Whedonverse record, of a sort.

Twelve would actually be a new high for a post-Angel Minear. Penny is probably right about what will happen.

You can certainly sense that FOX has a lot more enthusiasm for "Fringe", which they are promoting a lot. I haven't seen anything about "Dollhouse", really.

I think the premise is too strange for people to really understand. I watched the trailer and was kind of confused by it; I can't imagine what the whole pilot was like.

OTOH, in the article I read, Joss said he was the one who wanted it retooled and that Fox gets the show and is really supporting it. I think he may actually have better success with Dr. Horrible.

Fringe looks really good, and I'm not just saying that b/c Joshua Jackson is in it

Having viewed the first ep of Fringe, I can say I loved the hell out of it. I'm just afraid of Abrams and the potential for being totally confused after a few episodes.

I'm sure JW is claiming he wanted the retool himself. He couldn't keep his God cred if someone else said his stuff was crap.

No, no, no. It isn't "Crap"-- it is just too "complicated" for the little people

Well, I think he's trying to make nice this time, after blaming FOX for doing the same thing with "Firefly". And to be fair, having seen FF's original pilot, and the one they eventually aired first, he was right that time.

Dollhouse production is on hiatus for a few weeks. Could there still be problems with the show to be worked out? Hmmm.

TVWeek's take on the shutdown issue is more involved than Zap2iIt's.

A quote:

Quote:
A person familiar with the thinking of some Fox executives told TelevisionWeek that there have been concerns raised inside the network about the fundamental underpinnings of the show.

Specifically, because the heroine of the show, played by Eliza Dushku, has no free will or ability to do much beyond what she's told to do, viewers might find it hard to root for her. In addition, some executives have expressed concerns that early episodes of the series have been confusing and hard to follow.
Another:

Quote:
A Fox network spokesman dismissed as "untrue" the notion that Fox Entertainment chiefs Peter Liguori and Kevin Reilly are concerned over the future of the show.
So there it is.

I might have to concur with PC's statement above:

I haven't really followed the development of Dollhouse. Who are the other producers/writers attached. Because if it's just Whedon behind the wheel, I don't think I can be convinced to watch just because it's ED in the lead. Does he have his old buddy Minear with him?
