Blonde highlights, like in Season 3 but with Season 5 hair. It has her general body shape.

Hey, I'm just dreaming of a Cordelia return. Can you blame me for doing such?

I'd point out only that these are the Whedonverse comics we're talking about. in that venue, Willow has Cordelia's general body shape.

Soda. Out. My. Nose.

And I completely agree. I still say that it's Nina. Even werewolves wear their bras on the outside--they got all those extra nipples to cover!

Been over at IDW over the past few days keeping updated with developments seeing as no one is selling ATF where I can get it. I'm a little bothered though.

Perhaps Cordy will come back. That is what most people at IDW believe anyway, given that picture for First Night which has a woman who looks like Cordy in the background. Now, if she was coming back, hooray. However, someone else has just returned as well in Issue 4. His name is Groosalugg. See what bothers me?

Oh, and yes, Angel is human for those who said he wasn't. He thought he was still a vampire and jumped off a roof early on to tackle demons but ended up breaking both legs and his spine. Wolfram and Hart healed him up right nice though.

I just finished the latest issue of the series. It's true, Groo does show up. As ironic as it is, Groo is the one character in the Angelverse I would expect to talk about Cordelia. That makes sense, right? Yet, not ONE word about her. At all.

Now, I realize that this little corner of the fandom is admittedly Cordy-centric, but the rest of the verse at large doesn't loathe her, right? Why are they completely doing a disservice to this character? She has three years of Buffy and 4 years of Angel main cast continuity and hasn't even been mentioned...that strikes me as being extremely odd.

I pretty much assume at this point she's going to show up in later issues in some form or another. With all the misdirection about her, I'm guessing as a final gotcha panel at the end of an issue. I've been reading comics now for 23 years, and that's all I can come up with. I feel pretty comfortable saying that...this book is written and presented like a comic book, not an episode of the series. The comic book elements are strong here

The only other explanation I can come up with is that she's tapped to appear over in the Buffy season 8 comics, which flies in the face of reason and would be way strange, though it would go a long way toward explaining why IDW won't even mention her.

Angel comics are pretty notorious for having terrible art, and this one is pretty bad as well. I'm not looking forward to seeing my favorite actress depicted by this guy. Gunn stole a picture of the gang with Angel holding baby Connor in this ish, and Cordy can be seen standing next to him. Apparently, his idea of CC is a girl with a big smile who is otherwise unrecognizable. Here's hoping his art isn't relative, cuz if he draws Fred/Illyria that curvy, Cordy would end up looking like a porn star.

Or maybe I'm completely out of touch with everyone involved, the rest of the Whedonverse hates Cordy, and no one wants to see her at all. In fact, I'm surprised Whedon hasn't gone back and retconned her straight out of existence.

When I brought up the fact that Cordelia wasn't mentioned at ALL in any of the issues but yet, we have gotten Angel thinking about Fred's death *And a later cover has a grave for Fred *, I was told that we were only four issues in and basically, to calm down. I said that it was very out of character for Angel in the very least to be thinking all about Fred and none about Cordy.

I don't think the fandom has anything to do with it. I think it is still S5 rearing its ugly head. We get no mentions of Cordy or even show the slightest bit of the gang worried about her being comatose. She shows up for one episode and then it is business as usual, as if she didn't exist.

I am really not expecting a lot here. There are only 8 issues left and if she hasn't even been thought of, by anyone, in the first third of it, I don't see it happening.

The only ones who wouldn't want Cordy back are B/A fans and that's what I've seen so far. (Apart from one B/A fan who wants Cordy back because she never loved Angel, but was manipulated into it by Jasmine and Skip, and will pose no threat to B/A in the long run because before manipulation, she loved Groo.)

I actually did a poll over there and of the 17 that voted, 8 wanted her back, 7 thought her story had finished and she was no longer a vital part of the story (unlike Nina and Groo who are so vital.) and 2 had no opinion either way. The fact is, people love Cordelia and always have. She was, and Joss knows it, a fan favourite. That is why I believe he brought Spike to Ats, to try and fill her place. While his presence does satiate many fans so they have no thought of Cordelia, there are those of us who miss her terribly.

The fact is though, I would rather have Cordy stay away knowing she loved Angel with every fibre of her being than have her come back, basically ignore 5 YEARS of C/A love and get with Groo. If c/g is the plan, keep her out of it.

I still love her immensely though.

So are these limited series? You say there's only 8 issues left does that mean Angel the Comic Book series is over? Or does this follow Marvel's line of thought where they break down the books into "series" for easy conversion into Trade Books?

I'd be surprised if Cordy is mentioned at all, let alone shows up. ME pretty much attempted to write the character out of existence and had some serious Spin Doctors working on telling the audience just how little Cordy and CC meant to Angel (show and character) that they'd look like total idiots if the comics tried to write her in. But that's just this bitter Cordy fans opinion.

PS - I don't care how much I like a show, a comic or even a character if the art work is consistantly crappy I can't read it.

Sorry, got the poll results wrong. 22 voted for the question "Do you want to see Cordelia bac?" Results were:

Yes - 10 (50%)
No - 8 (40%)
Not fussed - 2 (10%)

The other two were for a joke option so I'm not really taking them into account. The poll results are out of twenty then.

Whedon has said there will only be 12 issues of Angel.

However...

The man needs money. If Dollhouse doesn't take off like he thinks it will, I know there will be another Angel series. Hell, even if it does take off, I think there will be another Angel series. The Angel comics are selling really well and since there are only 12 issues, there hasn't been the drop off like there was with the Buffy comics (which are up to like 70something issues now, I think)

RANT AHEAD! **And Lorne is the "lord" of Silverlake, which, if I am remembering right, was where Cordy lived? Is that wrong? If it is right, then Jaysus H. Christo on a pogo stick, why is there no mention of that AT ALL? He is in her neighborhood. And Groo flies in a PEGASUS?! to walk off with Angel. I swear, they better be having some offscreen conversation about Cordelia, that is all I am saying. The pegasus thing is still throwing me. It is almost as bad as the fairies and Gollum in the Buffy comics. I thought this was suppose to be grounded in some sort of "real" world**

Dragons and pegasi and manticores and characters flying like superman are the norm in the comic books now. It makes you wonder, if the special effects budgets of the two shows had supported it, would we have had all that crap in Buffy and Angel?

It's kind of reminding me a little of George Lucas making Eps 1-3. They're packed full of awesome critters and great effects, with a backdrop of awful scripts and horrific acting. I'm suddenly thankful for the money constraints of doing a weekly TV show.

What's next Joss? Releasing new editions that digitally add in Dawn from the beginning? Remove Cordy completely? Make Willow gay the entire time? Oh I know, just digitally replace Buffy AND Angel with Spike the whole way through.

This series, for those who asked, is at the moment 12 issues, but depending on sales could increase. I think it already has actually to 15 or something.

However, this is only the first Angel series in comic form. Joss has many more planned apparently but, like the shows, Angel comics are the ginger haired stepchild of the verse so are considered, and treated, like they are less important. Point in fact, series length. Btvs gets a 70+ issue Season 8. Angel gets 12-15 issues that is actually not even considered Season 6. It's what would have happened, but it isn't Season 6. A precursor if you will to the real Season 6 coming in the future.

Joss, look into this barrel.

For anyone who's interested, Cordelia has officially made an appearance in the series. She doesn't speak or move but she's there.

Gunn goes to W+H when Angel isn't there and blows the place up, but before he leaves he takes one of Angel's pictures of the family. The picture is shown in one of the panels. I find the arrangement in the photo hilarious and very reflective of what Joss wants. I'll describe how it looks:

They are in the Hyperion. From left ot right it goes Angel, Gunn over his shoulder, Wesley holding baby Connor, Fred over his shoulder and Cordelia. I just find it funny that Joss has separated C/A and has put Wesley as the focal point of the picture. Basically taking C/A out of equation and making Wesley main man. He is the main man really. Indispensable to the story they say. Second only to Angel in importance. I love Wesley, but they have made him into this God recently and the comics are reflecting it. We have it in canon that Wesley didn't really hold the baby. Angel has to force him to do it.
