Hate to get serious, but I have to agree that a lot of people don't make the distinction between Cordy and Jasmine-Possessed-Cordy. I know because I found it hard to make the distinction myself.

I think the reason for this is because too much time passed between "Cordy" doing the things she did, and it being revealed that it wasn't really her. So, for weeks, the audience was thinking, "Oh, man. I can't believe Cordy slept with Connor!" and, in some cases, hating her for it. And that way of thinking was so ingrained that, by the time it was revealed that it wasn't actually Cordy, it was too late.

I think the fact that it's still an issue proved that. Just a week or two ago, at another message board, someone was saying they hated Cordy for all the icky/bad things she did in season four. Someone else pointed out, "Well, yeah, but that was Jasmine." And the original poster was like, "Oh, yeah. I always forget about that."

I think that, because of the time that passed before the revelation, some people honestly have a hard time remembering that it was Jasmine doing that stuff. To them, it was Cordy.

I agree. If I had been a "casual" fan, someone who didn't frequent or didn't even know about a place like ST for discussing the show, I would have had no way to know that Cordy wasn't Cordy anymore. I wouldn't have had access to the sides, or been privy to our forum discussions in order to know what her storyline was going to end up being.

I can remember a girl at work complaining about Cordy, saying how she had become such a total bitch and wondering how could she do that to Angel, and all I could do was bite my tounge because I don't believe in spoiling people. When I finally couldn't stand it anymore, all I could do was tell her not to believe everything she thinks she's been seeing. When they finally dropped the "bombshell" she was relieved, but said that it was hard to look at Cordelia the same way any more. Multiply that by maybe a million, million and a half and yea, they pretty much distroyed Cordelia.
