The final night of The WB
Well we are just about an hour away from the final night of The WB network which brought us Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel. Tonight on the WB they air airing the pilots to their greatest shows including Felicity, Angel, Buffy and Dawson's Creek. The WB along with some familiar marking campaigns including the return of Michigan J Frog.
I have to admit I am sad to see the network go as I can easily say it was the network of my generation. Thoughts from this crew?

I can't say that it's the network of my generation; I'm not even sure my generation has a network. But I did watch an awful lot of WB programming in the beginning, including BtVS, AtS, Roswell, and, of course, Dawson's Creek. I still have some awfully fond memories of watching DC, and if a lot of my better memories of BtVS and AtS have been tainted by what happened there at the end, those shows did bring me to this board. For that alone, I'm very very grateful.

I'm surprised at how much WB "TV" I've watched over the years. I think there was a point where 90% of my TV Viewing was WB Shows. Odd to see it go but I just can't be bothered to watch BTVS or ATS right now

I'll give the WB this...
In the network closing montage honoring all the shows on the WB (right before the end credits of Dawson's Creek), Charisma got her own solo headshot (season 1 Angel promo shot with the long hair. Damn she was hot!) with name title and everything. Not all the WB stars got one so it was a nice honor and recognition of her being a LEAD on one of the WB's hits. DB and SMG of course got theirs as well as the four leads for Dawson's Creek, but the 7th Heaven crew got a cast shot. Hell, I was happy to see Steve Harvey and Cedric the Entertainer and The Mowrey twins. The WB didn't forget their roots, LOL.
I admit. I teared up. When you're alive and aware to see a tv network start up and bring you shows that you love and then go kaput, you realize how much time has passed |

So, because I was out, I recorded the last night. I am very sad to see it go as well. I certainly did put in a fair share of hours on the WB over the past decade or so. And I really like the fact that they did a tribute the last night to those that they felt "made" the network, like Angel and Buffy. A nice ending. |

It was so weird to see "City Of" on "primetime" WB again. It did feel different than watching it as a rerun on TNT at 7:00 am. I sorta smiled through the whole thing except when I was sniffling about Glenn Quinn. And when Cordy was on I just said, "Oh, yeah, she was the star."
I kind of chuckled when BtVS was on because the production looked kind of hokie looking back on it now. (Not that the vamp makeup on "City Of" wasn't howl worthy.) And when Buffy said "I really don't like him," (re Angel) I shouted at the TV "Trust your first instincts, baby." And DB was such a baby and had no clue about his character at that point. LMAO! |

I would've liked to have watched. But our local WB network went off air about two weeks ago and replaced with that damn MyNetwork thing. I wasn't watching Buffy and Angel back then. Would've enjoyed seeing the pilots on their original networks and on primetime.
