Some of the Krewe parties and balls are open to the public, some not. Most of the balls are private, but you can pay to get in even to those -- up to $150, so be careful what you wish for -- if a Krewe member invites you. You usually have to buy tickets to Krewe events separately. The price range varies; for example, Krewe Babalu may charge $100 for its Mardi Gras Ball tickets, yet you can go to its den party (pre-parade bash) for $10. Z Krewe's many Zestival parties all vary in price, too, but then again some of them last all day.... Most of this stuff takes place over one of the two Mardi Gras weekends, but the Mystic Krewe of Aquarius does one more huge parade on Fat Tuesday night. Krewe Babalu also throws an adults-only closing party. Meanwhile, at the west end of the seawall, the San Luis Resort usually throws a costume contest. I don't know their rules or fees for entering, but I can find out.

Oh sounds fun. The mardi gras pass sounds do able. The $100+ for krewe parties is doubtful, unless of course they're really hot.
Thanks for the information.

Okay, just to bink this a little, how many gentlemen Strangers are considering a trip to Galveston? Any males of the guy persuasion? 'Cause that's one of our many unofficial mottos, y'know. "Stranger Things: We've Got Dudes."
And what kind of accommodations would you prefer under the circumstances?

There's what one would prefer, and what one would be offered, and then there's what they'll get. In any case, I can't go. Work, ya know.

Seems like I may have to bow out now. Money's got tight so I don't think I'll be able to make it any longer.

Yes, I still would like to go. Do we have a set weekend? Southwest has gotten pickier on frequent flyer tickets.
