Well, can I step in here and say this, for the record?

I am Lisa. My involvement with Simon has been limited to my saying "Dude, I don't like the way you run your things, and we aren't associated with you."

For some more info: My full name is Lisa Rowe. Yeah, I was the one who presented Joss with the charity check.

Please don't slag off on Nirvana. She means well, and her defense of me is sweet, although perhaps a wee bit misguided.

I am fully available to anyone here who'd like to question whether SavING Angel had anything to do with SaveAngel. Nope, we did not. Initially, we were contacted by Simon. He registered his domain right after we did ours, clearly in an effort to ride coattails. We, from the start, had questions about how he was handling his funds - he was paying himself first, and THEN putting leftovers into donations. We asked for details on his financials, and he failed to provide him, at which point we said "Ok then, thanks very much, buh-bye!"

We at SavINGAngel have, from the get-go, posted our financials. We contributed our own bandwidth, graphics abilities, time, etc, as part of our personal donations. Simon paid himself for that stuff.

I am sorry that HIS misdoings are throwing a taint on the efforts of all of those in fandom, but his misdoings are NOT ours. When I spoke to Joss's office, and said "what more can we do?" and they said "don't spend any more money, do letters and postcards", that's what we did. We took what we had leftover and donated to charity. (Yes, we DID let people who wanted to contribute MORE to charity in the name of the campaign do so - with full disclosure).

Perhaps we should have whistle-blown on Simon earlier, but he was, at that time, attempting to tar everyone with his own brush. So we figured that the wiser course of action was to ignore him, and make sure that we maintained full disclosure of OUR efforts. Hindsite is 20/20, but, also, we didn't want to slip into libelous territory.
