New Movie?

There's someone in alt.tv.angel quoting a weekly magazine report saying Charisma is in Montreal for principal photography on a movie by Incendo Productions entitled "Flirting with Danger." I have heard nothing else about it.

Oh, the magazine is called The Suburban. I assume it's local to Montreal?

ETA: Sounds like it's the Lifetime TV movie CC referred to at that convention.

ETA II: And if it's based on this book, it sounds interesting.

The Suburban is definitely a local newspaper, not a magazine - at least it was when I was living in Montreal. It covered the West Island suburban areas of Kirkland, Pointe Claire, Beaconsfield, Pierrefonds and Dollard des Ormeaux, to name a few. If it's the same news media that I remember.

I'll see if I can track down an original copy through my parents!

Okay. It just said weekly, so I assumed magazine.

Here you go. Scroll down for the paragraph. I'll also post it here:

Movie News: Montreal has finally nabbed a big-time movie shoot. Night At The Museum, originally titled Sunrise, is a $100 million U.S. production which will take up most of the space at Mel’s Cité du Cinéma. When I visited Mel’s last March, work had already begun on set designs. Pre-production commences in October. Filming will begin in New York in January and then move to Montreal through May … Incendo Productions has begun principal photography in Montreal on its latest thriller called Flirting With Danger. This $3 million production’s stars include Charisma Carpenter (Angel, Buffy the Vampire Slayer) and James Thomas (Blind Injustice, Missing). It will air on The Movie Network and Lifetime in the United States.

Here's some info on James Thomas. I still have no idea who he's is, but he's cute!

excellent news

if this is from the book that SamIAm pointed out, i like the character CC would most likely play, and the book got some nice reviews

one of the reviews
Quote:
I was attracted to this story because of the unusual protagonist - Samantha Jellicoe, a cat burglar. Sam is hired - through her agent, of course - to retrieve an item from the mansion of Richard Addison. Sam's done her research concerning security, and Addison is out of town. Except that Sam gets caught, and ends up saving Addison's life in an explosion that was supposed to take care of a theft - and Sam - at the same time. Sam goes on the lam, until she decides that the only way to clear her name of a theft she didn't do and find her enemy is to join forces with Addison. Falling in love wasn't part of the plan. A very humorous tale of romantic suspense, with an excellent mystery intertwined. I enjoyed the humor and the mystery.
CC could kill in this part

ETA: i took this over to C-C.com, and linked to this thread

Thanks Starlet (and thanks as well to SamIAm for the original tip!).

The best part of this for me is that it will also run on TMN, because we don't get the same Lifetime channel in Canada and I would not otherwise be able to see it when it does air!

A-ha -- so this is the Lifetime movie CC told some fans about at the London convention! Fantabulous!

It's interesting to note that Lifetime is making a conscious effort to get hipper and more "youth-oriented," if you will, in its movie projects (e.g. "Confessions of an American Bride" with Shannon Elizabeth last season). If they're doing a movie with CC, it's because they think she'll bring in new viewers.

Well as long as we see CC in a bikini or something sexy, I'm all for it...

But anything with Charisma in it is always a good thing...

It looks as if Sam might get his black-catsuit fantasy after all these years.

Another bright note is that Lifetime now releases most (if not all) of their made-for-tv movies on DVD pretty quick. There's a whole section devoted just to them in most places.

Very good point.

So Charisma's going the way of Sheryl Lee and Heather Locklear. Not that it's a bad thing.

And don't forget my own favorite Lifetime regular, Cheryl Ladd. She and I share a birthday. You could certainly do worse than to emulate Cheryl Ladd.

Still holding out for CC as Catwoman, but I'll take what I can get.
