The Official DIVISION "Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep" Discussion

And finally, here it is! Post your thoughts about CC on The Division here.

Enjoy!

ETA: Okay, I really liked the detail of waking Emma's vital signs going haywire even as the only change in her expression or body is the flicker of her eyelids. Appropriately eerie (not to mention realistic).

Woo-hoo! "Guest Starring Charisma Carpenter" up first!

ETAA: And Roxann Dawson directed. Hm!

...Dudes, am I the only one watching this live?

CC is making me tear up in the conversations about Emma's son. Seriously. And may I mention that after those gorgeous, radiant PB photos, her appearance so stripped of any trappings, glamorous or otherwise, is a fairly stunning contrast. There's an emotional nakedness to this wounded woman that Charisma has done quite a job of capturing.

Nope, I'm with ya Penny.

This is RIVETING.

The twists just keep coming. I thought that cop was too much of a plant, and then they throw this zinger. Good stuff.

And Charisma is heartbreaking. So good. I'll have more comments at the end.

Sorry, gals, I always wait until something's more than half over. That way I can TiVO through commercials.

But I'll be caught up shortly.

I am watching it live also.

I was impressed with how CC actually looked like a person in the hospital. No make-up, etc.

CC had me choking up over her son and during the re-living of the crime, especially when she was talking about how happy Evan and her were. CC's been great, but I wish she had more screentime.

I missed the first part b/c I was watching HP on ABC. I came in just as Emma was talking to the cop about her son being afraid of her and trying to be a mom by letting him go.

Her pain is so understated, it's very well acted, IMO. Normally you get over the top dramatic stuff but her scenes are quite moving in what she doesn't put in. You know what I mean?

She looks like crap, so drab and sickly, just like someone who woke up from an 8 year coma would. The scene where they took her to the park and she remembered everything was very intense and dramatic.

Very good jo so far! And the show's pretty good too

I am watching this live... Charisma is so good in drama I feel like jumping in the screen and whacking the guy who did this... also, I like the flashback with her curly hair compared to the straight and later tied hair... gives an illusion that the times have progressed... and you're right Penny... she definitely was figurative stripped naked to her natural beauty... so far so good...

And just for the record, I am watching the series, and the network for the very first time... does that make me a woman???

Well, I'll bet Bonnie Bedelia never tries to arrest a cop in a restaurant again.

So can't say I'm impressed with the show, but CC did well. Bravo, and let's all hope for good news for the fall.

BTW, I also tuned in for a Nancy McKeon fix. Did I miss her, or was she not in this episode?

wow that reunion scene was good, short but good. I wondered if there was going to be the "happy reunion". The part where her sister walked in, the way CC reacted has got to me. Then when she moved aside and Cody was there all teary I started tearing up and I never do that. CC did a wonderful job with that little bit and the little whispered "baby" at the end. Oh so sad and so sweet.

Very good job, I look forward to seeing CC in some more drama's; in between eps of "Play Nice", of course.

I didn't see Nacy anywhere... so I don't know the whole story... anyway, who here cried when Emma and Cody hugged and cried at their reunion... I can definitely tell Charisma will be a great mother...

I think I am gonna cry.. I can't stop crying... Charisma made me do it... and I am glad...

Nancy McKeon wasn't in this episode, unfortunately. I would have preferred a B-plot with her instead of the Touched By An Angel actress, because her acting was painfully overdone. It did present a nice contrast with Charisma's restrained performance though.

I am hoping that CC does some more dramas next season, in addition to her sitcom. I'd love to see her gueststar on Law & Order or CSI next season.

Charisma was truly amazing. They really didn't at all try and make her pretty, I'm sure they had to actually try and make her look that washed out. But CC did an awesome job. My fav scenes were when she went pack to the parking lot and relived what happened and the reunion scene with her sister and son. That was very touching. Also, she didn't have the biggest role, but it didn't matter because the episode was all about her. I was just as interested to get all the side facts as I was to see CC on the show. I actually like the show. I think the lead actress does a wonderful job, but I couldn't believe the end way with her going about arresting that killer dude. I mean, I knew he would either kill himself or her. But oh well. I liked it though.

Well...this was heavy stuff, wasn't it?

Sadly, when the cop said that Emma had a bullet lodged in her right temple, my first thought was "Aww, just like the Bride..."

And we're moving on.

I was really shocked to see Charisma sans any make-up whatsoever, it was startling. But it was really realistic, so that was good. Emma's breakdown at the scene of the crime shook me, and the reunion in the end almost got me crying.

She did a fantastic job.

ETA: I love me some Bonnie Bedelia.

Wow, CC just literally blew me away in this guest spot. It's amazing to me how much she can make you feel for a character who is just guest starring and is a one-episode-wonder. She got me in Miss Match and she's gotten me again in The Division(which btw was not that bad of a show, I might catch up with repeats).

After seeing how stunning CC was in Playboy, it was almost shocking to see how bad they could make her look in this episode. While she was totally stripped, she was still beautiful I thought. The character herself was very sympathetic and honestly, I'd be interested to see where it went.

I loved all the scenes dealing with how Emma was trying to be a good mother, you could tell that CC was pulling on her own experiences as a mother. That final scene with CC was great, the sadness and happiness in her face when she first saw Cody and how she whispered "baby" to him was wonderful.

I agree that I'd love to see her in more drama before Play Nice is picked up.

Oh, yeah. I smirk haughtily at those who say CC can't do dramatic. Pffft!
