Pin Point Angel's Destuction
After watching my DVD's one last time before ebaying them I relised that Angel sole destruction can be pin pointed to a S2 epsiode the one he fired them the epiosde originally written by Shawn Ryan got rewritten by King Shit himself Joss Whedon because he didn't like the ending and thought the fans would of hated Angel's character the orginal ending that Ryan wrote was with Angel expolding on his gang and how he really felt about the situation about how they were in a losing war as well as "Cordy's pie dream of becoming an actress,Gunn wanting to go back to the ghetto and fight vampires in a simpler time, and Wesley being lucky to even have a job after the Faith debacle basically Angel telling them it was them going against the system of W&H but leave it to Joss to fuck that up.
Buffy on the other hand was done after S3 why they continued it is beyond me. Bottom line is I don't think Joss could of pulled of the anti hero fighting the system in a long storyline at all even if he tried look at FireFly and Serenity as examples. Me, I think Angel's destruction came when they went to Pylea and two years of Cordy's character growth went out the window, turning her back into a greedy airhead, Fred was introduced, turning Wesley into a creep who was interested in a crazy girl, and Angel came across as a goof. The show never recovered, IMHO.

I would have to say that the shows destruction came at the end of season 4. You lost Cordelia and the fang gang took control of their mortal enemies' law firm. No matter the situation, Angel would never take that job if they hadn't bastardised him. He did it for Connor they say. Yeah, well why didn't he save Fred? He let her die a painful death. Why didn't he sign a ontract then? Because he wouldn't do that. He always put the world before anyone else, that's why he is a champion.
I think the addition of Spike was wrong was wrong as well. I personally feel that Spike's story finished in Chosen. It was the perfect end. He went out in a blaze of glory and died a hero. They bring him back to be a snivelling little moaner who cares about nothing but disrupting Angel's life and chance at redemption. Also, Angel didn't care about Buffy for 4 years because he fell in love with Buffy. Suddenly in season 5 he is madly in love with her again and is like that stupid character he portrayed on Buffy. A grovelling creep who likes little blonde girls. I also didn't like how they just dismissed C/A in season 5. By doing this, they dismissed seasons 3 and 4. There should have been more C/A. I also agree with you that season 3 should have been the end of Buffy. There was one good season after 3 and that was 5. 4, 6 and 7 were poor and two of them showed the absolutely pathetic Spuffy relationship. So there you go, IMO, Angel was destroyed at the end of season 4.
