Not to be overly delusional, but I really do think there's some reason to suspect that more comedies will be picked up, because the one that's mentioned in the Variety article is not the "One by One" spinoff that was widely expected to be chosen, and I can't imagine that UPN would forego that pick-up given how much stock they put in their Monday night line-up. So I'm hoping that we don't have the full story yet.
As far as I can tell, UPN is planning on moving Enterprise to Fridays, and they don't have regular programming on Fridays right now (don't they usually show movies?), and so it makes sense to me that at least one other hour long drama, or possibly two comedies, will be paired up on Friday nights with Enterprise. Thursdays are reserved for Smackdown. Wednesday night has 2 hour long slots open, one of which could be used by two comedies. Monday night's comedy block will probably stay intact, with this new comedy or the "One by One" spinoff taking over the empty half hour slot. And Tuesday has one hour set aside for America's Top Model, and the other two reserved for comedies, I imagine. Either way, I think they need more shows than are represented by the information in this article, unless I'm wrong in any of the above, because even two new hour dramas aren't going to cover the ground if they're planning on programming on Friday nights.

"Back, and to the left."
"Back, and to the left." "Back, and to the left..." ISTM I read somewhere that UPN was looking to add another night of comedies to compliment their Monday night line-up, so maybe you're right about UPN needing more than two, 'cause yeah, that spin-off was supposedly a lock.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed until tomorrow. Maybe we'll get good news after all. And it seems possible that Kevin Hill and Veronica Mars got their official greenlights early because of who's involved in producing them: Mel Gibson and Joel Silver, respectively.

Ugh, i can't believe UPN didn't just snatch it up right away. It's so much better than most of the crap thats on TV now.
Though I am being optimistic - They have time to pick it up, and I read this the other day: UPN: * Returning shows: America's Next Top Model and WWE Smackdown! * New fall 2004 series already picked up: None. * Pilots with good buzz: Kevin Hill, a drama starring Taye Diggs (and produced by Mel Gibson) as a playboy attorney who suddenly has to raise his brother's infant daughter; Play Nice, a sitcom starring Charisma Carpenter (Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel); and The Bad Girl's Guide, a comedy starring Jenny McCarthy and based on The Bad Girl's Guide books by Cameron Tuttle. * Other pilots in contention: Beck & Call, a drama starring Vanessa Williams and set in the New York fashion world; Veronica Mars, about a teen who works with her P.I. father; and the Tru Calling-ish Silver Lake, a drama starring Kerr Smith (Dawson's Creek) as a record-store owner who has psychic abilities that allow him to communicate with the dead. *Daf

Time to start a countdown to June 1, when c-c.com will be back up. Chrissy has to have something to say. I hope.

Is Chrissy CC's best friend? Cause I've heard that Chrissy could be either her mom or Charisma herself! |

Chrissy definitely is not Charisma herself. The rest is open to speculation.
