new CC rumor

this is only a rumor--unsubstanciated in any way

at the IMDB massage boards for CC, a poster states that at the COUNTINGDOWN.COM message boards, they state that CC will be playing the Adrianne Barbeau part in the remake of 'The Fog'

is anyone here a member of countingdown.com, who can get into the message boards and find out more on this

i have to say, this is grain of salt time, but who knows

The Fog? Never heard of it..will have to investigate, funny how AB is so recogonizable when she reallly never hit it big.

Thanks for the rumor, guess we'll wait to see if Shalazar or Chrissie can confirm/deny.

ETA: It's a John Carpenter movie from the 80's how on Earth did I miss it? Sounds interesting, even if CC is not in the remake (if there is a remake) I'll have to take a look at the original.

The message at countingdown.com doesn't site a source.

I read at a European web site for upcoming movies that Charisma Carpenter and Jessica Biel are in talks to play Stevie Wayne and Elizabeth Solley, the parts originally played by Adrienne Barbeau and Jamie Lee Curtis. Now if only John and Debra could get Adrienne to return and play Kathy Williams, the part originally played by the late Janet Leigh. Now that would be cool.
I wasn't aware they were making a remake but I'm a fan of the original and it is worth watching. According to the site, this version will be directed by Rupert Wainwright.

Interesting.

Morrigan, I suggest watching the original Fog. It's a great movie. One of my favorite horror movies. Well, I love horror, but The Fog is scary. I think you will enjoy it.

If CC is doing the remake, that would be great

Woot! That would be cool. I loved The Fog. Really creepy but by today's standards, it would be considered very tame. I wonder if they would try to make it gory to amp up the scare factor.

I agree DS. I'm hoping it will be a lot scarier.

I dunno -- the pendulum seems to be swinging back toward films that are more creepy than gory. Starting with What Lies Beneath and The Blair Witch Project through The Sixth Sense and up to Ringu/The Ring and Ju-On/The Grudge, there's a pretty consistent trend toward movies that skimp on the SFX but more than make up for it by being spooky and disturbing on a psychological level.

And I'm hoping this rumor turns out to be true. CC would be great in a film like this, especially if it's true to the original.

Oh I don't want it to be gory, I was merely speculating that they might try to make it more gory to satisfy perceived audience expectations. Either way, I think it would be a great role for her.

Love this movie. Came out not long after Halloween and was generally considered the less of the two movies, although personally I've always really loved it. The first scene of the old man telling his creepy story really sets the tone of the movie. Saw it again not that long ago and its still very creepy. Not so much of the gory, but I think the creepiness is somehow way more threatening than any gore. Personally I hate remakes of films I love, 'cos they are rarely better, but they do it anyway.

Of course this is still firmly in the camp of "grain of salt" rumour, but I hope it's true for CC even so - I'd like to know what her next project is going to be, and even if it is another horror remake, at least it means she's still working.

I hope I can actually get up the nerve to go see it - whether gory or suspenseful, I'm a bit of a baby when it comes to the horror genre and haven't voluntarily seen one in years. In fact, I walked out of the last one I tried to see about 10 years ago, and I had to watch the "Sixth Sense" in pieces, with some parts on mute, until I knew what all the potentially scary stuff was ahead of time and then I was good to watch the whole thing in one go.

I just hoping that if this will come out on theaters, Charisma will get top billing...

The Canadian singer? And Jessica Biel in another horror remake? Hm. I didn't like the new version of TCM that much, even though I never saw the original. But if true, good for CC.

Rupert Wainwright directed Stigmata, which was a pretty good movie; interesting story and slightly creepy.

What's TCM? I heard JBeil was not very impressive in Blade:Trinity, then again I heard the whole movie was pretty stupid.
