New vBulletin update! 01-09-2009

Hey, teen gang - during today's spot of enforced downtime, we upgraded to vBulletin 3.7.3. Go us.

One note so far: You may notice that only your unread private messages show up in your default PM screen. BEFORE you panic (<--- important), click List Messages in the Private Messages section of the left navbar. You should get a complete list of all your read messages.

I'll sort through and see how the upgrade affected other stuff. If you spot any problems, let me know.

Penny, this is pretty minor, but I've noticed that I can't click on the emoticons anymore.

I'll take a look - it may have to do with our host having to reload an old version of PHP while they work their way through the problems with the new version that wouldn't let anyone log in on Friday. Thanks for the heads up!

Another minor thing but I can't get any of the style elements to work (bold, italic, underline, font size, justification, etc).

The icons are there for it but when I click on them, nothing happens. Not a huge problem, just an inconvience if you can't remember the BB code.

I'm with Livvie. I can’t get the quotes button to work. I have to type them in every single time. And of course forget how to every single time! Go figure!

Also at times when I come to this site I have gotten a lot for error messages such as ‘server is full try again later.’ Don’t know if that’s been fixed or not.

Just wanted to let you know.

Edited to say: I can click on the smiles all I want…but they don’t work either.

I do think most of this is due to the reversion to an older version of PHP at the server end. I'm installing the latest vBulletin update tonight, though, and that may help.

The "server is busy" message is a function of the fact that we're on a shared server and have to jockey for bandwidth with other sites. Little, if anything, I can do about that. Sorry.

I just can’t remember all the codes. And when I remember some I always forget the little side slash! LOL

I had a feeling about the "server is busy" message. I was just worried because I had checked in over a week ago and no matter what time of day I kept getting that message. I thought the board had up and closed on me. I am happy to see that’s not the case.

Nnnnnnope!

It doesn't seem to be a back-end issue with the board software, so I suspect it's a bug introduced when the ISP reverted to the old PHP. I'll keep you posted.
