Sadly, there are two things I can't get past in order to even want to read the books or watch the movies. 1) sparkly vampires...just no. 2) Edward vs. Jacob...ok there's no choice there, not even a debate...Jacob all the way, dude is hawt All that being said, I love the trailer for Eclipse, it looks great, very action packed. However, my little cousin was telling me that they were doing reshoots to tone down the action part of it and prop up the romance part of it b/c the twi-hards were up in arms over the lack of Bella/Edward stuff. Not sure if that's true. Still don't plan on seeing this in the movies but if it's a ton of action I might watch it on TV.

Well if I'm being honest, Breaking Dawn came close to ruining the series for me. I really and truly hated it just as much as I really and truly loved Twilight. (New Moon was good and Eclipse was okay-ish.) I agree that Jacob is a very fine-looking example of beefcake, but I have to admit to a preference for Edward. I think it's because of the books--book!Edward beats book!Jacob any day of the week, no matter how beeeeee-utiful Taylor Lautner may be.

I read the first book (okay, listened to the audiobook for those who want to be technical), and it wasn't my cup of tea. I love my creatures, sure. I am even in the process of writing my own werewolf novel. (I angst on it in my LJ. Exciting.) So the series isn't my thing so much, however... I freely admit that I am shallow and have seen the movies just for the beautiful cast. All of them.
In fact, I'm probably going to see The Last Airbender with a friend, and I'm going primarily because the lead character's best friend is played by the luscious Jackson Rathbone, who plays Jasper. So yes. Aika = shallow. The thing that does bother me is that some people, especially unthinking and parroting media, seem to think vampires and werewolves are a new craze in the wake of Twilight popularity. Um... no. It's been popular for a while, and as a fan of things, I haven't honestly seen a sudden increase in media.

We also have Suika flash her Draculas throughout the evening for kicks. She makes a good vampire. |
