Any other Angel/Cordy friendships on TV?
I've been watching Ugly Betty on DVD. I haven't ever seen the show live on the air, and I'm about 6 episodes shy of finishing the first season. As I was watching the show and the wonderful freindship between Betty and Daniel, I thought "That's Cordy and Angel!"
First, the friendship is there and solid. She's his reality check, and he knows she's got his back even when others don't. To me, that strength of friendship is one of the best things I ever saw about Cordy and Angel. [As a total aside, maybe Charisma could get a guest babe spot on the show. After all, she worked with Eric in Voodooo Moon. In the babe department, she's ranks with Salma Hayek or Lucy Liu. And for comic timing, it would be fun to see her trade scenes with Rebecca Romijn.] Anyhow... I love the friendship of Betty and Daniel, and most of us on this board will agree that Angel and Cordy had a unique and strong friendship. Are there any other TV examples where such a thing is written so true and so well?

One that leaps to mind is Danny Fenton and Samantha Manson on Danny Phantom. ...yeah, it's a Nicktoon, but still. In fact, there are a number of events and character moments throughout the show's three seasons that line up eerily well with parts of AtS. (Now if only AtS had had as satisfying a series finale as "Phantom Planet" was...but that's a whole 'nother conversation and beyond the scope of this thread.)

You're right. Charisma should definitely be invited for a guest spot on Ugly Betty.
As for the friendship part, I have to vote for Chloe and Clark on Smallville. Chloe knew Clark's secret and kept it, sometimes risking her own life to do it. They would've made a great couple, 'cept, of course, neither they or Clana could work because of future Clois. But their friendship is still strong and very trustful.

Ray and Neela from ER. Neela was attracted to him when she first saw him, they were co-workers who tolerated each other who eventually made each other better doctors and people. After, they become roommates and a friendship develops which turns into love but circumstances just comes in the way of them getting together.I just hope unlike C/A we get a happy ending.

not sure if anyone else is into Greek, but i think Cappie and Rebecca could end up with the Cordy/Angel vibe before all is said and done (anyway i hope so cause imo they had great chemistry (better than Cappie/Casey)

I think one that has the potential to develop is Ned and Olive on "Pushing Daisies". And, of course, I personally adore Olive.
Beyond that, I think the closest I've seen on television to Angel/Cordy in terms of friendship (developing into more) was the Dr. and Rose on the first season of the new "Doctor Who".

Charlie Crews and Dani Reese, from Life, are getting there.

Tojo, would you think of them like that even if David wasn't Booth? I haven't seen that show, so I wouldn't know how the characters interact.

Yes I would.
I don't automatically see Angel when I see Boreanaz, but the interplay of the characters reminds me of the love/frustration relationship C/A had early in the series Maybe I should rewrite my post to read: I think of C/A whenever I THINK OF Bones and Booth

Jackie and Hyde (That 70's Show) used to remind me a lot of C/A. Of course they got abused too in the relationship gig.

Jackie and Hyde in particular reminded me of C/A. Their relationship was rather unexpected. I remember when I first saw them together I was pleasently surprised at how well they worked with each other and immediately fell in love with them.
