Yea, I saw that in the paper this morning. I pretty much agreed too. The one I didn't agree with though was "Seinfeld". I liked their finale.

Bus is the only being on Earth who is everything Angel needs and deserves. They totally belong together. Preferably in a twisted heap of smoking rubble and ash. (Lik OMG.)

Now c'mon, Penny. What did the bus ever do to deserve that kind of ending? Personally I'd prefer to see the bus driving away....at a very high rate of speed.

Holy crap, yes. I honestly don't remember a thing about the finale except my near vomit over the enormous WTF that was C/7.

(4) ST: The Next Generation - "All Good Things" was a really wonderful way to wrap up the series. It's a shame that the movies that followed kind of cheapened a really good ending.
"All Good Things..." was pretty great. And I disagree about the movies. I really like Generations and First Contact. The others are crap, of course.

(1) ST: Deep Space 9 - It's odd, because it is hands-down my favorite of the Treks, and I enjoyed almost every season immensely, but I did not particularly care for the finale. For one thing, I never wanted Odo/Kira to get together, so the whole scene with him rejoining the Link was lost on me. I didn't like the fact that Sisko left Cassidy and Jake to be with the Prophets. I didn't care for Bashir/Dax. The Bashir/O'Brien good-bye left me a bit emotional, though.
I too have mixed feelings about DS9's ending, but for different reasons than you. I couldn't quite put them into words right now, but I definitely understand the 'meh' feeling it seemed to give to some people.

Oh, and Angela. Dawson's Creek? Best. Finale. EVAR.

Ah, the (fond?) memories of Angel/Bus.

As far as a stand alone episode, I liked Not Fade Away. As a finale though, I didn't like it. I would have rather seen an actual ending.

Even though I absoutely hated Dawson's Creek, (mostly because of big old Oompa Loompa Head) I did like Pacey and Joey, so I tuned in for the final episode. It was good, wasn't it?

I found it very satisfying because every last on of those f**kers died. No one will convince me they could have survived by slipping into the sewers or any other way, so for me they got what they deserved. Angel lost my affection when he slit Cordy's wrist, just left her behind and told them all to forget her. Not to mention all of them forgetting about her all during S5. So, yeah, they can all die miserably in a dung pile for all I care. I still wish it had been a bus.
Word. I've detested Angel ever since he went to Sunnydale in S4 and tried to get back with Buffy with nary a thought of his 'beloved' Cordelia, languishing in a coma, and I've detested everyone else since Home when the all sold out to W&H. Do good my a$$, they wanted the money, power, status and shiny new toys.

As for NFA, gee, first Angel murders Drogyn, a warrior of good, and incidentally, leaves the well without a guardian. Cthulhu alone knows what horrors will emerge from the depths (hey, sounds like a apocolypse to me!). Then he allows Fred's killer to join the team because he trusts her for no apparent reason that I can see. Then he betrays Lindsey, thus turning Lorne into a cold-blooded killer, while letting Harmony go with a job recommendation after betraying him.

As Angel's piece de resistance he not only throws away everyone's life away in what he himself admitted was a pointless suicide mission, he unleashes a demon army on LA.

Way to go, you a$$h*l*!

I think many people had grown to detest Ooompa Loompa Head (aka the Fivehead) by show's end, although in retrospect he really wasn't all that bad except for his totally horrific behavior during seasons 3 and 4. Unfortunately he was SO totally horrific during seasons 3 and 4 that it really taints the character for the run of the series for many.

And yes, I will confess the Pacey/Joey ending was absolutely the icing on the finale cake for me, but there was a lot more to it than that. You could sort of feel the affection for the audience that the PTBs held coloring the entire finale. They managed to create a believable, loose-end tying ending that paid homage to the beginning (and indeed, the entire series) without once giving us what we needed as opposed to what we wanted. The show started with Jen getting out of that taxi and shaking things up for the entire Creek, and it ended with her death causing them all to reevaluate their lives and, yes, shaking things up. I loved Dawson turning and seeing 15-year-old Jen getting out of that taxi once more. I loved that Dawson and Joey had their childhood friendship left intact while Pacey and Joey moved on into a committed adult relationship. I loved that scene in Pacey's (PACEY'S) restaurant where they're all sitting around reminiscing. Like I said in an earlier post, after six years as a viewer (two as an appointment-tv-turn-the-phone-off viewer, much like another show I refuse to name), the DC just really resounded emotionally for me. Which is why I still watch it from time to time. I can't think of another show finale ever that had that sort of effect on me.

And now I'll stop talking because last time I checked, this wasn't the "show your love for the DC finale!" thread.

Yeppers. Both sets. Haven't found time to watch so much as a single set, but I have faith I will one of these days. I think I saw on Amazon where there's a third set coming out soon, but I might be off on that.
