First, manners. You're welcomes to everyone; glad to be of service.

Now on with the show.

This is the part where Cordy supposedly has the vision and "wakes up", starting after all the whooshing and flying around.

We get closer to a figure lying in the bed...

(Omitted scene here.)

TIGHT CLOSE UP on the eyes of CORDELIA CHASE as they snap
open and she lurches, drawing a deep intake of breath.

BLACK OUT.

END OF TEASER

__________________________________________________ _______________

This is when Angel and Wes enter her room.

INT. HOSPITAL ROOM - DAY

ON THE SWINGING DOOR to the room as it's pushed open. Angel
and Wesley enter and look at

THEIR POV - A BED, its curtain partition pulled back. We see
the form of a young woman -- IV tubes running out of her arm,
visible above the covers -- but the bunched up curtain
obscures her face. A respirator hisses loudly, its hoses
running up toward the patient's nose and mouth.

We may notice another bed, unmade and unoccupied to the
right, as Angel and Wesley cross in.

On ANGEL and WESLEY as Angel reaches out to pull back the
curtain.
__________________________________________________ _______________

As aired, the body in the bed did have respirator tubes running up to her nose and mouth, but the machine wasn't on. Was the "patient" already dead or was it just too noisy to film with the machine on? Even though ER manages?

Either way, the bit in the teaser showed Cordy with none of that equipment attached. So if the body in the bed was, as Fury claimed it was, Cordelia, then who was that in the teaser? And if that was Cordelia in the teaser, who's this person attached to all the hoses and IV's? And what was the point of suggesting there was another empty, unmade bed in the room?

See, no clear answers about 'Cordy, alive or dead?' here either, just more of ME's unwillingness to commit.

But again, I don't think this scene was intended to do anything other than reassure the True Fans that Cordy meant so little to Angel that he'd never, in nearly a year, set foot in her room until just that minute. It did that, I'm sure.

I could think of lots of ways they could have written her off without killing her that would've been believeable and in character. But oh well, I know that it was a personal matter for Joss.

It's funny, in a sad kind of way, years ago people would speculate that C/A would end up together (though technically they never did) but that eventually Cordy would be killed off so that Angel could reunite with Buffy. I didn't believe them. They were so right.

Aw, don't be. You were right. I think that when I first started out 'shipping in this universe, I was very naive to what really went on. If I had known it was gonna be like this, I would never have bothered. They sure sucked all the fun out of it, that's for sure.

Wordy McWord on that. I had no idea being a C/Aer would ruin the show for me. I became so caught up in the behind the scenes drama (i.e. the fractured fandom) that I lost sight of the show I loved.

Which I guess wasn't all that traumatic, considering my discovery of fellow C/Aer's pretty much took place at the same time as the show began to suck.

Thanks for the inside scoop, SIA.

Thanks for posting this, Terry.

You know, I've come a long way to be able to say that, while this was interesting, I just really didn't care all that much. Didn't care what could've/should've been said, didn't care what didn't make it into the show--I just really don't care anymore. Which is.....pretty nice.

And speaking of 'shipping C/A, I can't say I regret it because it lead me to all you fine people. But I will say that (a) I hope I never get as sucked into a show as I did either BtVS or AtS and (b) I will never ever ever ever be dumb enough to follow a Whedonverse show again. Because even those True Fans who are claiming they're all basking and such have been kicked to the curb more than a few times over the years. In fact, I can't think of any fans who can claim they've enjoyed every minute of these shows.

Except, of course, for Joss's own sycophants. And fielding. Wait--was that redundant?

What she said. *insert trademark thingie here*

And, honestly, in my Gunnland of Denial, Cordy and Angel are together and Gunn loses his shirt daily. And ya know what? I'm perfectly fine with that.

How do we become citizens of Gunnland again? Do you have an open immigration policy?

Whoo. That's kinda steep. I'm glad I got in on the pre-season special discount. But even at full price it's worth it, kids. The rides are excellent!

As the ep aired, the body in the bed was already dead because it was completely covered with a sheet except the feet and they wouldn´t do that with a patient who´s still alive.

So I think that Charisma knew that Cordy will die because she had to play the scene where she closes the curtains. Unless it wasn´t supposed to be Cordelias body at first.

CC didn´t say anything if she knew about Cordys death or not as she signed the script. Well, it doesn´t matter anymore, I´m happy that she´s done with all this crap. She deserves much better!
