I never actually watched Birds of Prey - was she that bad?

I love Ashley, so I'm happy for her. She's gorgeous. I wasn't ever a big BoP fan, but her prettiness alone is enough to make me watch.

I watched BoP, and I thought Ashley was just fine on it (the show had it's shortcomings, but I didn't really think her acting was bad, given the material). I'm less sure about whether she can be funny, though.

I hadn't previously seen that Drea De Matteo was going to be on the show -
I think that's great casting. I'd expect her to overshadow whoever they get to be Joey's love interest.

Oh my gawd.

She made Jessica Alba look like a master thespian, she was that flat and one-note. Alba could smirk and look puppy dog sad. Scott couldn't even get up to saucy.

The lines were bad yes, but Dinah Meyer actually managed to say them and pull of a character for a change. And this is the woman who was worse than Dolph Lundren in Neurcromancer.

Scott was bad, seriously bad. Her smirk was plastic, no real change of expression, and just wore the outfit instead of using it to create texture, convey some of the darkness, contrast, etc.

But that was pretty much the problem w/ the show. Nice set, stole a lot from Burton's Batman movie, but no substance to it, no chemistry between the characters and incredibly cheesy effects.

I still shudder at her horrific delivery of her signature line. "I am the weapon." Sounded like she was reading a cake recipe, there was no sass, inflection, anything.

Come on KarKar, say it directly....

I agree with you 110 %. Maybe, we can pray for a hide comedy timing.... I always saw her doing drama... or trying to do it
