Tim Russert, gone at 58

This afternoon I was very shocked to learn of his unexpected passing. As a political junkie I appreciated Tim Russert's bipartisan approach to politics and his intense quest to get our elected (and up-for-election) officials to answer the tough questions. I was so looking forward to his analysis of this years election and will miss his little whiteboard on return night. His "I am of the people" approach to every undertaking was refreshing as it brought many he interviewed back down to the common level.

I always hoped that those not as excited or involved in politics could tune into him and learn what they needed to in order to make informed decisions.

It is such a great loss to journalism.

I saw that last night right before I went to bed. Terrible, just terrible. He obviously loved his job, and of course, politics.

He will be sorely missed this election year.
