The CW has released a 5 minute+ trailer for TVD. SciFi has it here.

Vampire Diaries Clips
I was and sorta still am iffy about the show. I've seen a couple of clips here and there. Some of them interest, others bore me to tears.

So, I'll tune in and see if it has any potential.

I think I'll give this a try at least the first episode just b/c it comes on before SPN. I've actually heard some good reviews, mostly about the actors which is always a plus in my book.

We'll see how it goes but right now TB is fulfilling any Vampire needs I might have.

PS - Anyone watch Being Human that's got a Vampire, Werewolf and Ghost..it just might be totally awesome.

I started watching it and gave up after three episodes. I was going to give up after one but I have a rule, three episodes before I make up my mind.

It's just so...whiny imho. I mean, the ghost whines and cries cause her boyfriend moved on. The vampire whines cause he is a vampire and doesn't want to follow the vampire head honchos. The werewolf whines because he gets furry. It's like a supernatural 90210 where pretty people cry about their pretty problems.

I've seen it. It was okay, pretty good even in some parts, but it fell short of awesome. It is possible the next season will be awesome though.

I watched the first episode of Being Human the other night. I didn't hate it. The vampire is a hottie-boom-body (and I'm shallow enough that that is important in my leading men, lol), and I liked the werewolf a lot. It had good special effects, even though the werewolf changing scene reminded me of American Werewolf in London a little too much. But whatever. The ghost was sweet, and heartbreaking...and I think something might happen between her and the werewolf. Or maybe I just hope it does.

But yeah. I'll keep watching until it sucks.

That's funny, I cought that werewolf changing scene and it did remind me of American Werewolf in London.

I only caught maybe 10 minutes of the pilot, I have the series set up on my DVR I'm going to watch the next two episodes and see what happens.

As for Vampire Diaries, I'll probably give this a shot as well, I just hope this doesn't turn out to be too teenish/HSish.

The more I see and hear about Vampire Diaries, the less interested I am in it. I'll still watch the premiere, but that has as much to do as it airing before Supernatural as anything else.

Anyone else watching??

I've enjoyed the first two eps but I haven't read the books, so I don't have much to compare it to.

I haven't yet, but it's on my schedule for tomorrow. They've been calling my name from my DVR for days...

I liked the first episode quite a bit, I've got the second episode on my DVR will watch this weekend.

So far I'm liking all of the characters including Stefan and Elena although not sure how long that will last.

Right now, I'd say the show was "meh," but with the potential to be pretty good. Or, at least, a good guilty pleasure. Nothing that's happened on the show so far has really hooked my interest, and I haven't fallen in love with any of the characters. And I'd probably forget the show existed if it didn't come on before Supernatural. But it's not so intolerable that I find it unwatchable.

Take Elena, for example. I find her likable but boring. So I'm not fascinated by her, but I don't want to smack her either. At least, not so far.

I'm liking the show, but all these longing looks between Elena and Stefan are starting to annoy me. Damon is interesting, but I love a good bastard.

I'm far more interested in her brother (whatever his name is). Also, I think that Elena's ex-boyfriend (again, the name escapes me) is going to be a vampire hunter-type. I'm willing to watch until it sucks, and maybe it won't suck? Who knows.

I did find two things interesting.

When Damon first showed up talking about how he basically just wanted to make Stefan's life miserable, possibly because of some woman they both had a thing for back in the 1800s, it didn't seem all that deep as far as bad guy motivations go. So I like the hint that Damon actually has this idea in his head that, if he can get Stefan killing again, the two of them will re-bond as brothers. Maybe he thinks hunting together will make them really close or something. Kinda twisted but, hey, he is a vampire. (And SPN has given me a thing for complicated brother relationships. )

I also like Elena's psycic friend, who is apparently in denial about her psycic-ness. So I'm finding the thing where she blurts out something ominous or mysterious, then tries to brush it off as nothing kind of amusing. Although it could get annoying if she's so busy brushing it off they we never get let in on what she saw/felt. (Like last episode.) With two vamps coming to town, I'm going to assume she won't be able to keep living in denial for long. And I want to know what she "saw" when she touched Stefan's hand.

I mentioned this over at TWOP that the Damon/Stefan relationship had the potential to be what Angel/Spike could have been in S5. A dynamic where its about one corrupting the other out of love, desire to be reunited or even a long standing big brother/little brother rivalry taken to the extreme. Instead, A/S went all school grade BS over Buffy's magic cookies and it took the importance of their realtionship off of Angel and Spike as interesting characters with a great backstory and made it all about Buffy, of course, MMV.

I like Bonnie quite a bit. Right now I have to say that Bonnie, Jeremy (Elena's baby bro), Damon and Catelyn are my favorite characters, I'm really interested in all of them.

I haven't watched the second episode yet but that's the impression I got from the hospital scene in the "pilot". When Vicky (?) woke up and told Matt that it was a vampire who attacked her, the look on his face wasn't shock or thinking his sister was nuts, it was recognition. I could be wrong but I\it would be interesting if it turns out that Matt's family knew about the vampires or had some sort of history with the Salvatore family.

Like Danny, I think this show has potential, it could end up being my guilty pleasure or my new cult favorite ala Supernatural.
