New ABC Comedy Pilot - why not add CC?

HR is reporting a new David Kelly ABC pilot featuring Selma Blair. The show is about three (count them, three) sisters. Why not CC as as one of the others? Except for including Selma Blair (sorry, Selma), it sounds interesting.

[Selma] Blair's ABC romantic comedy, tentatively titled "DeMarco Affairs," revolves around three sisters who inherit their family's full-service wedding planning business. Blair will play the middle sister, who is a pillar of strength on the outside but vulnerable on the inside. The show's creator/executive producer Jason Katims and executive producer David E. Kelley are said to have had their eye on Blair for some time.

Unfortunately,DEK has iffy luck with shows. His last two tries, Snoops and Girl Club, didn't even last 1/2 a season. I am hoping she ends up on the new Darren Star sitcom.

On the other hand he got "Ally", "Boston Public", and "The Practice" on the air. Going 3 for 5 is pretty good in my book.

I actually like DEK, I liked "Ally" in it's early years it was quirky and different. I probably would have continued to watch but the show turned into "Everyone Loves Ally" and I couldn't stand the character. I prefered Biscuit, Fish, Nell and Elaine, the quirkiness remained but it wasn't enough to counter the Ally!Sue aspect.

It sounds like a good premise for a sit-com, there aren't enough urban professional oriented sit-coms around now, everything seems to be family entertainment. KoQ is funny but I need something I can relate to.

David E. Kelley is good. He just needs to remember that fact and stop making flops.

I actually like the sound of this idea. I think CC could fit really well into this type of thing. My fingers are crossed!

I like his shows, mostly, but I am stymied by the fascination with Selma Blair. There must be something there that I'm just not seeing. If anyone knows, could they please tell me what it is?

I am equally mystified. I think it all goes back to the SMG/SB kiss in "Cruel Intentions".

I would watch this even without CC in it cause I adore Selma Blair, I just find her really funny, she has great comic timing and her facial experssions crack me up, she was hilarious in "The Sweetest Thing". I think CC could play the older sister maybe. I would tune in.

Or the younger sister. SB is 32, and CC is 33 going to be 34 in July (I think). Looking at both of them (from what I've seen of SB) CC could actually play younger then her.

I haven't seen those aspects of SB in the few things I've seen her in, but I'd watch with CC in it and who knows, I might actually come to enjoy Selma Blair more.
