Images in sig...
OK- I have a banner I want to put in my sig...
I tried uploading to geocities and converting to a .txt file which didn't work. so I figured maybe it was the .txt and so uploaded as a .gif at angelfire. But despite it being a .gif and shortening the name of the banner it still didn't work... so yeah- can anyone help me out? Thanks Becky |

GeoCities is fussy about outside linking of images stored on their servers, so that might be the problem there.
Another may be that the image is too large. The forum is set to display the following maximum image sizes in .sigs: Weight -- 15KB Width -- 525 pixels Height -- 250 pixels The following are the allowed extensions: .jpg .gif .bmp .jpeg .png Your file may need manipulation to fit these specs. Let me know if you need help doing that.

If you have Illustrator, PhotoShop, or Fireworks, it's easy to Web-optimize your graphics with the Save For Web function (called Optimize in FW). Debabelizer also does compression. I've never used Paint Shop Pro, but I reckon they have a similar wizard utility.
If you have none of these things, find a site where you can download CompuServe's GIFConverter or something like it. There are free- and shareware apps that will do the job as well.
