Private Messages Glitch: April 28 UPDATED

While running standard database maintenance procedures this morning, I accidentally emptied the Private Messages table instead of the Search Index. (Yes, I agree, it was probably Freudian. [g]) I'm working on restoring PMs from backup right now. Sit tight, and thanks for your understanding.

Tech support will be replacing the private message files from yesterday's backup shortly. I've turned off PMs for the moment so that new PMs won't be overwritten. If you've received any PMs today that you want to save, please do so soon! Thanks.

Kayo, folks -- the private messages as of Friday have been restored, and privileges have been turned back on. Sorry for the loss of weekend messages; please re-send anything that was essential.

And now that I've gone to those lengths, I still need y'all to delete more than half of everything that's in the private message table. Help a sister out? Puh-leeeeeeze? Maybe then I won't have to go in and trim the damn database twice a day.... [g]

Psssst.... Penny, when you restored from back-up, you also restored a whole whack of messages that I had deleted per your request. You may want to let people know that even if they had cleaned up their PMs over the weekend, they need to do it again. It'll make them feel like extra special good boys and girls!

Same thing happened to me. I was so confused as to why they were all back there again.

Maybe it was random. I had 7 messages before and now I only have 3. At least there *were* only 3 this morning. Maybe I should go check in case they are baaaaa-aack.
