Actually going to contribute here because this was a wank that I am was *almost* a part of. I am just sad that I decided to go to bed before I commented. When I woke up, the shit had hit the fan and it was too late.

I only wish I could find the BuffyWank that happened last year where a writer equated concrit to rape. That one had me laughing FOR DAYS.

Is con-crit short for constructive criticism?

I can’t read the links as my company blocks live journal, kind of stupid since they allow my space, face book and journalfen.

Oh and I strongly disagree, with the first poster at fandom_wank. Even in the Ducks, B/S vs B/A vs C/A heydey the Buffyverse doesn't come close to the wackiness of HP_fandom.

Oh Lord, there's an entire SUBSET of wank that can be summed up as "[Noun]: It's Like Rape, In A Way." (If you're a self-aggrandizing Drama Deity with no life, it is.)

Okay, HB has some quality wack jobs like Msscribe. BUT, what about LOTR? That spilled over into some majorly wacky rage at Kate Bosworth for daring to date Legalos, didn't it?

That's the beauty of Msscribe wank -- it's the gift that keeps on giving. It's like a Cassie Edwards novel, in a way.

I dunno. If it were really like Cassie Edwards, wouldn't she be passing herself off as Daniel Radcliffe or Emma Watson instead of random sockpuppets? Although I suppose JK Rowling is actually closer to the HP equivalent of Longfellow.

Heh. I can't believe there were so many of you who never read Mr. Horsey wank before.

Hey, speaking of old old OLD wanks, one of the bestest of best was the original Tinhat Brigade. Remember when the Domlijah fangirls were sure the Dynamic Duo, aka The Love That Literally Dared Not Speak Its Name, were "speaking" to their fans through tabloid pics? "He wore brown! That means he knows we're here, and he LOVES US!!!!11!!!"

Now see, I've always thought the LOTR'ers were WAY worse than the HP'ers because of stuff like that. Speaking to them through PHOTOS? Although I do have to admit that that whole Snapes on an Astral Plane thing was whack.

But not nearly as whack as being married to your mare. That was down right disturbing.

Snapewank was hilarious, but 'Married to a Horse' wasn't entirely. It's animal abuse, and I didn't find a lot of humor in the situation. And the girlfriend wasn't that funny either. She obviously lacks self-confidence to be willing to come second to a horse. Made me really sad.
