You're Welcome...3 yrs later
I know this is a date I'll always cherish. Back to 3 years ago when Angel was in what was to become it's final season, along came an episode that lifted all our spirits and that was the return of The 'real' Cordy to help out our hero one last time. She awoke in a 'bizzaro world' to raise the 5th season to new heights that went to Hell just 9 days later when on Friday February 13th, the WB announced Angel was to end. Thanks Cordy and especially Charisma, for your gift to us, your ardent fans...

Yes...Today was a day of happiness and joy for me. I was thrilled to see Cordelia again and have Angel and Cordelia's relationship come to a sort of close. I needed that closure.
This episode was in true typical 'Angel' fashion and was done with humor and sweetness. I loved it!

Yeah, "You´re Welcome" was a very sad but beautiful ep.
It was also the real end of AtS because we saw the wonderful friendship between Angel and Cordelia and the feeling of a family in the group for one last time. Thank you, Cordy and especially Charisma for doing this ep!

I can't hardly watch those ending scenes anymore. It's so hard, and I almost always end up fighting off the tears.
The whole thing is bittersweet, because we had Cordelia back, and the chemistry/closeness/love between her and Angel was out in full force....only it's the end of it. |

Don't get me started. It's bad enough that I cry everytime I watch YW, but I get all teary-eyed TALKING about it, too. *sighs*
samsom, you're right, everything was out in full force. All, in all, I think the C/A shippers got the better end of the deal with ship endings. The overall feel of the episode, you could see and feel the love. However, it would have been a lot better, if she just left, and not died.

We did get the better ending, I do believe that.
I don't think, though, that if Cordelia had lived, Angel would have let her go. Not after just getting her back. He was too in love with her and needed her too much. Maybe death really was the only thing that could make them leave each other permanently. |

I didn't even think about it, that way. Awwwwwww. That's true. Angel WOULDN'T have let her go. At least, not that easily and without a fight. But, I don't think Cordy would want to stay at Wolfram & Hart. But, if she stayed, Angel would have started his plan to destroy W & H, earlier. I hated that she died, but thinking about what you said, makes sense. That would have been the only thing to keep then apart.

I was always afraid, from the end of s2 onwards, that Cordelia would end up as Angel's dead girlfriend - someone's (like Nina or Buffy) rival who can't be touched, perfect in death, and completely without her own identity.
Does anyone else feel like this? Like they made her some kind of romantic martyr? While the others get to live and affect things and be imperfect (and loved for it) but she stays frozen in time like some saint to be prayed to and worshipped. Like a maddona compared to the whore of Angel's live girlfriends. |

I still get the same feel I did the first time I watched. I feel So Happy and Sad at the same time. Their last moment is just perfect. Cordy getting her guy back on track because she is the only one who can is the best part other than the kiss. lol
I love that he doesn't wanna get the phone and is obviously wanting to kiss her and more instead. Then when he realizes she is dead the way he says Thank You and looks like a lost puppy is So sad. The whole episode is Bittersweet and that my fave kind. |

your welcome was sad because Joss didn't have the sense enough to keep Cordy on the show. If he kept her it would have opened up a whole new season or two. and the catfights between nina and cordy or just drama drama drama for them. Hell, if the wb didn't want ANGEL maybe fox, abc, cbs, or even tnt would have taken the show. You're welcome only proved what we have been saying and hinting all along. That the way the gang was that is how it should always be. Thats why it was emotional. Joss made a mistake by letting it end and creating such crap such as the ANGEL:AFTER THE FALL comic book. that thing is making me boil over. I don't know what it is but it is not ATS.
