That was my take on it as well, I also found my heart lightened by --->the fact that they don't seem to be pairing Ford up with Blanchet. I know many disagree but as hot as Indy is, it just looks ridiculous to see him romantically with someone almost 3 decades younger than him<---

Does this really need to be in spoilers? Not sure but better safe than sorry -->I think it goes back to something I saw on ET or Access Hollywood, they talked about casting for Indy and referred to Cate as his love interest.

I also went back and realized that Platy's post about Shia LeBeouf being Indy's son was only a rumor, when it was confirmed that he was in the movie, I just assumed he was in fact playing Indy's son...which is not the case.

In any event I had somehow created (in my head) a scenario where Marion was only in the movie as a cameo to introduce Indy's son..at which point it was Shia and Indy off to fight non-nazi's...enter Cate as the new leading lady.<---

BTW - I like your version better, that's what I want to happen.

I see what you're saying. I'd never heard any of that though; I confess, I haven't been paying much attention. That kind of thing is part the the reason why spoilers are EVIL MANIFEST! though.

You never know, I thought for sure, The Last Crusade was the last Indy film, it seemed to wrap everything up nicely.

Personally, --->I thought from the first I heard of her casting that Blanchett would play the antagonist, and the notion that she was the love interest was a huge and ultimately incorrect assumption made by a few lazy entertainment reporters. It's gratifying that I seem to be right about that. Although I'm avoiding spoilers like the plague!<---
