Dragon*Con 2006
I know it's a little over two months until D*C, but will Mike and I have the pleasure of seeing any of you marvellous people there this year?

Which also means time to start pondering what you want brought over this year.

As Emma just typed....me! I'll be going.
Sitting in the scant amount of Doctor Who panels and looking all glossy eyed. Oooohhh pretty. On a related note, raiding the breakfast bar with my fellow Tegan fen. (Though I'm *still* put out about '04. Lilly not yet a DW fen, thus unaware that Peter Davison was in attendence. GAH!) Squeezing into my dress for the YA track's Ball. Singing along at the BHPS. And talking back at panels. And of course, seeing my women! Forwarned, I will have cameras this year. And yes...there may be cardboard cut out abuse involved.

Chances of my going are slim and none (Labor Day is just a really, really bad time to ask for a long weekend off around here), but I have borne in mind Trill's request for a black S-Tee for those who want to wear one and should have at least one design available at Cafe Press by the end of the week.
I'm thinking it should say, "Yep. Still Dead." But I'm open to suggestions....

Maybe it should say "Strangers at a Convention."

Good idea, psychofilly, I'd wear that shirt!
I'll be at DC - last year was my first con, tons of fun. Hope to see some of you there! Since I'm only recently a Whedon fan are there any events/panels I shouldn't miss? The Buffy track is supposed to be really good, but are there any secret parties/events/nudist colonies? |

I still think we need to set up a Stranger*Con...my vote is Dallas or Houston (cause I've never been there) but Texas rocks

Traci informed me that it's now in the Hilton, which is a pain as I'm getting a bunch of stuff signed for a friend. Reg. was there last year, and I disliked it even then. LOL
It'd be a nice idea to try to do a Stranger Con again though since the Vegas thing didn't happen. Of course with all my holiday through 2007 used up, I probably won't be able to go. WOE.

My suggestion: Galveston. We could rent one or two of the beachfront cottages or condos and have a blast, at relatively little cost to everyone.

The Texas Beach Party music festival is held during April, and the island throws "the world's second-largest Mardi Gras" in February (which is also a good time to just miss the spring breakers). Galveston is also the former home and headquarters of Jean Lafitte, and you can visit the place where the Maison Rouge stood before he burned it to the ground. There's only the foundation left, but it's still there, on Avenue A near the wharf. The "Pirates" fans would have a field day.

Oh, sounds interesing, and Emma loves the Mardi Gras!
Of course, still don't think I'll be able to go (5 weeks holiday is just not enough!) but you know if something is planned I'll try my hardest to get there somehow, I always love visiting somewhere new.

Airfare's pretty cheap too, (from NJ anyway) only $250 not bad at all.
