So there is a Wonder Woman tv show in development, wonder who should be casted as ww

"Wonder Woman is headed to the small screen as word breaks via Deadline that the Amazon Princess is being eyed for a television series from writer/producer David E. Kelley".

http://www.deadline.com/2010/10/wond...avid-e-kelley/

Come on people, lets send emails and make phone calls to get her that part. Her management and David E. Kelley needs to know how perfect she is for the role.

Dunno if anyone cares about this anymore; it certainly sounds like David E Kelley envisions a Wonder Woman at odds with the comic book version. That has angered the comic's fans, so it's probably gonna be DOA. But if anyone cares, Kelley's cast Adrianne Palicki in the title role. That would be consistent with a different take on Diana Prince/Wonder Woman.

But I loved her as Tyra Collette, so I may give it a shot.

Thanks to SamIAm for the link, here is a script review of Wonder Woman. Sounds...ummm...weird. However, the description of Veronica Cale would be perfect for CC. Right down to her jealousy of WW.

I don't have much of a problem with it. I never really thought the bathing suit costume was all that realistic for someone who was going to be actually *fighting*. It was only there to tittilate the boys, so, IMO, this is a nice modern version that takes the hero aspect a little more seriously. I still have problems with the boobage falling out during a struggle, but I get that they can't take the *sex* completely out of it. I'm hoping the shiny aspect will look more like leather on the show, but if it doesn't...eh....that's okay, too.

It actually looks a little like the new comic's costume they revealed last year (minus the jacket), accept the pants were black.

I agree on the bathing suit being ridiculous and just there to titillate the boys but frankly every female comic character is drawn that way.

I realize comic book females are all boobs, ass and unrealistic sexy costumes, but that's something that has always bugged me about them. But, to be fair, most males don't get a break in that aspect either except for the ones all covered up and in trench coats.

I think it's fine to cover her up more for TV. But I kinda like the comic book version (at least the one that's not the full-length pic). The pants look more like *pants* and less like skin-tight leggings. I'm not sure about the shoes (or lack of them). I think retaining the boots is a good choice, but I would like to have seen a more modern, kick-ass boot look.

Oh, I totally agree with you. It used to really bother me but I guess I just accepted it at some point. I liked that they changed the suit on TV from bathing suit to long pants. I guess they couldn't change too much because they'd alienate a large portion of their built in fanbase (boys/men looking for some T&A).

Then again, DEK isn't exactly writing Wondy as a feminist icon, unless you consider Ally McBeal a feminist icon (I don't).

If I recall correctly, WW really was meant to be some sort of wank material for men. Wasn't her creator a guy into bondage and D/s, who liked to be tied up by women.

I recall a lot of the early WW panels, Wonder Woman more or less adminstering spankings to men and women. It was way kinky, even for comics.

As for DEK's take on WW...I don't see it as any better than Joss' 'vision'. I would have liked to see a straight treatment of her. Diana Prince by day, WW by...other times. Kicking ass and not having a great sense of humor (this was the WW I remember). Not some weepy mess who is a mess about her private life and can barely run her company. It's way too Ally McBeal to me. And I wasn't nuts about that show either.

It's probably the makeup as much as anything, but even with the extreme boobage, they've managed to make Adrianne Palicki as sexless as a blow-up doll in that picture. Not an easy feat, and yet, there you are.
