I'm tweaking as much as I can, as I have a moment or two, to get it as close to the 2+ version as possible.

Okay, I need a show of hands. Who wants to keep the new vB horizontal menu, and who's gonna have a bird if it stays? I'm getting a sense that some people love it, and some people are literally gonna cry if they have to look at it one day more, and before I start trying to delete Javascript from master templates, I need some kind of consensus.

Before anyone asks, I already mentioned further up in the thread that I will try to restore the old, smaller post graphics. vB has changed all the names, so it's not as simple as it sounds, but I should have time later tonight to go through, match them up, and reload the old GIFs.

And before anyone else asks, yes, the banner menus will be back. It's gonna take some doing, but they'll be back.

I can't figure out how to change my avatar to another custom one. Am I missing something obvious?

(Familiarization is quite a lengthy process with me)

Edit Avatar is now its own link. Just click on the User CP link and look for it in the left navbar. As always, the Custom Avatar box is on the bottom of the page.

I prefer the vertical because I can see more posts at once and don't have to scroll so much. Is the text going to remain so large? Or is there a way to customize my view so the font is smaller?

If its a lot of work to change it, maybe we should live with it for a while and see if we can adjust?

The old one seemed to waste less space, I feel like I scroll more now, and the text of the message feels buried between the avatars and signatures.

But I'm still newish, and can adapt easily. If only life were like a message board (uh, wait, I take that back).

I'm working on tweaking the post text. I've changed the size from the place where it ought to change, but it doesn't seem to have any effect. Still trying, though.

Speaking of scrolling, I hope everyone has figured out that those little blue arrows on the right edges of certain pages collapse the categories that appear under them. You practically don't have to scroll through anything you don't want to, whether it's the Spoiler forum, the full post formatting menus, or the posting rules. Just thought I'd point that out.

I do not have such a box. There is a little section that shows my current avatar, then one that says "pre defined standard avatars", and then it just has two buttons "save changes" and "reset fields"

Sam, I'm loading the Edit Avatar page in my test account, and Custom is working for me. Can you refresh the page and see if it does for you?

Um yeah, not for it, and it acts all wonky on my work comp. Plus, makes it much harder to sneak a read when I'm meant to be working.
