I'll admit I've had a bit of a giggle following this thread. And it always makes me happy to see ophelia posting again.

But for reals, you guys, my cousin's news anchor got the Dayton, OH, DirecTV guide, and it swears that this really is CC's official site!

OMG Angela, you just got me laughing so hard. I think I had blocked a bunch of that stuff, but it has SO come flooding back. You gotta love the cousin that works for an affiliate who accidentally got a videotape from somewhere.

And it wasn't a foiler, but remember that poor girl who accidentally broke the news about Cordelia having "Conner's" baby when she posted pictures on her little website of her set tour? Poor girl has no idea what she was bringing down on herself.

Ah-- internet fandom. It's impossible to explain to anyone who hasn't personally witnessed it (and/or participated in it).

Now I'm missing the wildfeed thread.

Hah! I remember all the writers suddenly and simultaneously bailing out of their weekly fluffing The Bronze's posting board, except when Mere Smith crept in with that one plaintive post begging -- literally, BEGGING people not to read spoilers. It was all like, "Please don't quit watching! We haven't been renewed yet!! Oh em GEEEEEeeeeee!!!!!"

LOL Penny. I just remember the girl taking down all of the pictures and saying something on her site like "Please. I'm scared. Leave me alone."

I'd also forgotten how much the writers went and preened on The Bronze. Are ANY of those websites still around? Did ST outlast everyone?

Wait.. so a girl who had a tour of the Angel set posted pics of it but accidently broke the news about Cordelia and Conner having a baby? I don't remember that. Did you guys ever talk about that on this website? Cause I was around here then. What (if you remember) were the pictures of exactly? Charisma pregnant or something? I'm just curious.

And the wildfeed's. Wow that brings back lots of memories for me. And I still have the link to that website that posted them. It's still there.LOL. LINK

Yeah, Jaime. It was just some poor girl who knew someone who knew someone that got her a set tour. It just happened to be around the time that rumors had started about Charisma being pregnant, but no one knew if it was true. So this girl gets a set tour, gets pictures with a lot of the cast people and just excitedly posts about it on her site. And then she confirmed that Charisma told her she was pregnant....and then (someone with a better memory correct me if I'm wrong) but I think the actor who played Conner's real-life mother said something to the girl about Cordy also being pregnant and it being Connor's.

We DEFINITELY talked about it on the board-- it would have probably all been in the spoiler thread, so if you avoided that you wouldn't have seen it.

I have no idea what website it was. The girl wasn't in the "fandom"-- that's why she had NO idea what she was stepping in to. She took the pictures and comments down after just a few days.

Oh my god, I totally forgot that was you. Yeah that was some funny shit, I just loved the fall out from those fake chats.

Angela - You just had to go there. what was that posters name? Razzel? Dazzel?

Oh yeah, the poor girl who broke the story about CC and Cordy being pregnant. WE were all so jaded at that point from foilers that we thought it was totally bogus.

Penny - Dude! How funny was the Mere Smith begging viewers to stay tuned. Please don't read spoilers, please, we know it sucks but give us another chance....good stuff.

Oh, I would totally understand that she wouldn't necessarily use CC.com as her official website.

It's just, I'd expect her/her team to tell Shalazar in order to bring some traffic to the new website.

Yeah, I totally agree on that point. Hell I'm pretty sure at this point that CC's camp is very familar with both C-C.com and ST. You'd think if the myspace page and Website were legit the mod's would get in contact with Penny and Shalazar to drum up some business.

I'm almost 100% positive it was a LiveJournal entry - it wasn't even a website, just a fan's report about being on set.

I haven't posted in this topic because I hate being a downer, but I've never believed that this website had any legitimacy for two reasons: (1) CC has always been intensely private, and so the personal letter that alluded to her marital split, etc. was way out of character; and (2) for someone who has at times been reluctant (if I recall correctly) to charge for signing autographs at conventions, the whole signed merchandise and store set-up on the site seemed bizarre. There was just no smack of reality for me.

I can understand that some people want to take a 'wait-and-see' attitude, but I think it's important to be a bit skeptical, because I hate to think of anyone handing over money to this site for merchandise when it may be fraudulent. I'm sure CC has bigger issues occupying her time right now (divorce proceedings, the writers' strike, etc.), and I just don't see this as being the time she would suddenly expand her online presence. I could be wrong, but I'm very doubtful.

I've been around and lurking, just not much to say and very busy at work. Plus, I have unfortunately discovered the world of free online poker tournaments, and have wasted several hours since early in December bemoaning the cruel poker gods .

And how the heck are you?

The wildfeed!! *wave of nostalgia washes over Jay* - anyhow, I checked out the link a few weeks back and agree (and sincerely hope) the site is fake.

Time will tell. Also enjoying the memories of fandom, days gone by One key fake moment - anyone remember The Bronze supporting a seriously ill child - some of the writers even got involved (I think it was Fury) and wrote a note of support. It was eventually revealed as a hoax. Presuming The Bronze is gone? How about Ducks and the B/A crew? I enjoyed B/A but those guys just denied every hint of C/A for way past the point of reason...

I stay as far away from online poker sites as possible, I'd go totally broke if I didn't. Other than that, I'm good, busy with work and school.

Jaywalker - I don't recall the fake kid but I didn't go to the Bronze all that much. The Ducks were a wacky bunch; talk about a group that self-destructed. Thankfully we picked up the best of the bunch.

Hey Platy!! I think you're right about the live-journal thing....I was using "website" only in the most general of terms..... lol (I'm so technical)

And yeah-- whoever asked above....I think it was "Razzle" or maybe "Razzie"? I don't know.
