So a 37 year old woman has 15 and 16 year old friends? Doesn't that seem odd to everyone else? Kristen Bell verification aside, something is fishy here.
I guess it is because I am coming from soap fansites. Michael Easton is just about the least tech savvy person out there. I don't think he even knows how to turn on a TV. Originally, he lended his support to an unofficial Michael Easton site until that site went kaput. Then he hired a team and his site is really slick. He does FAQs every month and it is nice. Same with Kelly Monaco. Another not so tech savvy person who hired a team to do her official website. It was (until Ed, her webmaster, got cancer) this really awesome flash, java explosion. She did a live chat and it was awesome. She did contests all the time and a good friend of mine won a phone call in her Christmas contest. (And her fan club is $30 A YEAR) Ingo Rademacher, again, another soap celeb has a kick ass website where he posts to his fans, with correctly spellchecked and grammar checked posts. He posts personal pictures that he has taken on vacation, not pictures or videos that anyone has access to on the web. I could keep going. But these are SOAP actors, who are way less famous and probably have way less cash (or the ability to call in favors) than Charisma. They all have official domains and teams that run their sites. There are people on the Kelly Monaco board that have met her website team and they are professional people in their 30s-40s. I realize that Kristen Bell says that the site is legit but there is so much mounting evidence here that it is more than likely a fraud. The hosting is free, the domain registry was free. If you were going to make a website, why not make it a GOOD website, you know? If soap actors who aren't tech savvy have the brains to make a good site, you can't tell me someone like Charisma doesn't.

I sent an E-mail to Gladys Gonzalez (listed as her manager, along with Carrabino) at Carrabino management, asking her about this.
We'll just have to wait and see if she answers.

It just seems odd to me.
For Charisma to have previously had such a good relationship with CC.com, even going as far as calling it 'her website' in one interview, and then to just randomly commission this one out of the blue without even telling Shalazar about its existence... |

Let me ask this question to everybody here, because it seems that I am the only one defending this site unless I know for it to be a fraud :
Are you willing let this website to develop for a few weeks before you start slamming it to the ground? I am willing to give it the benefit of the doubt, becuase I think this is new territory for Charisma to have an official website, then to see a lot of fake official websites that leads to porn sites. And so what if a couple of young people are running the MySpace profiles and this website. I'll bet that they are family friends of Charisma that are doing this as a favor. God knows how many times my friends offers help to my computer problems. Again, let it develop on its own. But I have no problem getting independent verifications through management and other legit sources.

I don't consider people being skeptical and expressing their logical reasons for being skeptical as "slamming." If the site turns out to be real, we'll all be very happy about it. It's not as if anyone is going out on the web and telling everyone they meet NOT to believe this site or calling out the Feds to halt its existence. I think you're just as skeptical, but you're leaning toward the "it's more real than not" side of the argument. We're all in a wait-and-see mode and until it's proven one way or the other, we're all free to express our doubts or, in your case, certainty.

For me, CC going with another site, instead of C-C.com/Shalzar as her "official site" isn't that hinky. It could be something where she needs/wants more control, could also be a matter of keeping close to home, trusting friends and family to have her best interests. Hell, it could also be as simple as giving a hard up friend/family member a pay check.
However, the lack of confirmation, the fact that you have teenagers running the site (although, teenagers are probably just as talented as "professional web designers") the missed "chat" with no warning ahead of time and the fact that there's too much ananimity to the internet gives me doubts. To be honest the whole Foiler Family/Godfather/my toaster gives me inside messages has just made me totally skeptical when it comes to these kind of things. Addtionally - and no offense Freakface - but are CC/K Bell really all that close? I know they did VM together but CC is actually close with RT's wife. I never saw indication that CC/KBell were friends outside of work. So, confirmation from the people who run KBell's myspace/website doesn't really make it a done deal for me. I'd very much like for this to be real, I'd love for CC to be in development for some sort of show for 2008. However, I'm going to remain skeptical until I get confirmation a trustworthy source. Hopefully Tojo will get an answer to his/her (I can't believe I don't know which ) email.

Can we at least put a pause on this question until Saturday? Again, it feels like I am the only one defending this. I have an optimistic approach to everything in life, so I am going to give the site the benefit of the doubt. But I am monitoring this carefully.
And I ask again: Are you willing let this website to develop for a few weeks before you start slamming it to the ground? I can understand a healthy skepticism all around. But let's wait and see. (I feel like a broken record here.) Let the site prove itself at its own time. I don't want Charisma see a lot of doubting Thomases if she does have this video chat. In the meantime, let's go out for a drink and put this question aside for a few days. Everyone agrees?

How many weeks does it need though? The link was posted December 9, 2007. I think over a month is more than enough time for some serious doubts to start being raised.
I am actually going to contact her publicist as well as her agent. I guess what I am feeling is that I have seen better websites done by actors with less fame than Charisma that were done a hell of a lot better. Site is sloppy and it is on a free domain. If it was on geocities and coded the same, I think a lot more people would be questioning. I am just leaning on the side of "I don't think its valid". If it is legit, then I am going to be really sad because honestly, I think we can all agree, for a fansite, it is fairly poor quality and her fanclub prices are pretty outrageous (at least from the fanclubs I have joined). So I am really hoping in my heart that it is a fraud and she has some really awesome flashy website to shop around instead of this mess.

--- His.
On the quality of the site, Shalazar in a post on his site says the site is not even capable of doing some of the stuff they are claiming. (post 9, page 1) As far as her choice of site???. I would have liked to see her go with Shalazar instead of a new site. I'm sure he would have gone out of his way to give her anything she wanted to become her OFFICIAL official site.

OK, call me crazy (or just nostalgic) but are any of the other posters from back in the day getting a giggle from this? This is such a flashback to the days of foilers/spoilers and is it true/is it not true.
Frankly at this point it's worth it from an amusement standpoint.

I was remembering the same wank, Morrigan, which gives me the heebie jeebies about this chat thing.
I had a small part in the debunking that fake "chat" thing on the WB board and it was that event that eventually drove me to this board. The WB poster would post links to her friend's website and only "special" people would know about these chats. It was the friend (supposedly) that held these fake chats. She claims she had no idea they were fake and was just as shocked as everyone else and yet she blamed me for causing trouble because it blemished her rep. So, yeah, I'm very skeptical when celebrity chats are held on *unofficial* sites. |
