It looks as if someone calling hi/rself "Stephen Minogue" -- the same one from the CC board? or just someone who's coopted the name? -- has added hi/r name to the voting list and hacked the interface so it will count each vote s/he casts for hi/rself as 50 or so. S/he's worked hi/r way up to #26 so far.

tojoson, why wait?
[soapbox]I must be too old and lack the requisite sense of humor to appreciate this prank, as I find it neither funny nor clever. I find it especially sad that it may have been perpetrated by a CC fan. I would have been a great deal prouder to have CC at #10 honestly earned, than #4 by nefarious means. I was having fun on the trip up, and yuck yuck, someone happily stole the momentum out of our sails. That said it did serve a purpose, reminding me just how inane online polls truly are and more importantly, how easily electronic votes can be fixed (beware the Diebold vote.)[/soapbox] And so for what its worth, the stem-change from my last update: Change from yesterday: 3. Namie Amuro, 73,742 4. Charisma Carpenter, 68,605 +49,168 5. Britney Spears, 65,817 6. Catherine Bell, 50,683 ... 10. Rika Ishikawa, 24,008 +2,241 13. Justine Henin-Hardennes, 18,579 +37 15. Yulia Olegovna, 17,572 +44 Days left to stem in 2004: 16 Goal? ETA: I'm not so cranky, I can't appreciate the thing of beauty that is CC's name sitting on top of Britney's. |

i don't think that Stephan was the one to instigate this, he just took advantage of it, like a lot of people did.
it was brought out over on C-C,com that Emma Watson came up almost 2000 votes, and MT came up a bunch too anyway, it's of no consequence, i just checked and they have reset the scores to where they were before this happened CC is now back in 10th place at 19,800, so lets continue stemmimg and try for 21,000 lets go people, fun's over

Change from a few days ago:
9. Rika Ishikawa, 24,059 +2,292 10. Charisma Carpenter, 19,834 +397 11. Justine Henin-Hardennes, 18,585 +43 12. Sarah Brightman, 17,671 Stems to 21,000: 1166 Days left to stem in 2004: 16 Average daily stems needed: 72-73 Averaging CC's votes over the last three days, she has a daily average of 132 votes per day. We're doing great! I'm not sure if Sarah Brightman got a big bump in all the hubbub, but she may just be a threat. So keep stemming! |

based on her daily's (mid-30s) from the last times you reported on her (around the beginning of October) Sarah has about 3,000 more votes than she should have.
she bears watching

Change from yesterday:
9. Rika Ishikawa, 24,096 +37 10. Charisma Carpenter, 19,907 +73 11. Justine Henin-Hardennes, 18,603 +18 12. Sarah Brightman, 17,705 +34 Stems to 21,000: 1093 Days left to stem in 2004: 15 Average daily stems needed: 72-73 We're on track, but a little cushion would be nice, so keep up the stemming. Whatever bump Sarah may have had, it looks like it slowed down, at least for today, as did Rika's stems. |

gee; isn't it funny, since they fixed the site, Rika is only getting about 1/4
of the number of votes she was getting before.

Sarah Brightman, 17,728 +23 Well, lookie there, CC has almost the same number of stems as Rika herself. Bravo, let's keep this pace up! Less than a thousand to our goal. Oh, don't worry about Sarah, dears. That was my doing. They didn't exactly put everyone back in their proper numbered slots post-vote craze. Just the top 10, it appears.
ETA: Nevermind. You're probably referring to Brightman, huh?
