Oh fudge, I wish I got that channel. She sounded fabulous. Too bad I missed it. Would anybody be a sweetheart and maybe bring a copy to the Dragoncon in Atlanta? We could have a CC movie night.
You know, I got to wonder if having a family affected her performance since the issue might have fallen so close to home?

Well, in that case, why not bring along the SJD tape and MAYBE the MM ones? Now that would be awesome for us guys who haven't seen them. We could have a CC theme night going on.

i thought CC did an amazing job! she looked stunning even without being all made up. i remember watching some soap opera where one of the girls had cancer or something and she had all this makeup on and i just wanted to throw my tv out the window and scream. it was the most unrealistic thing i had ever seen followed by really crappy acting...
Charisma's acting was amazing. so great. the part where she spoke of her memories but all of the people in them were dead got me. i didnt particularly like the show itself (maybe b/c i hadnt seen it before) it was a little too depressing for me on my sunday evening. i throurougly enjoyed the parts with CC tho. did anyone else keep waiting for amy jo johnson to bust out as the pink ranger and kick some ass?

I say this only because there are these *massive* bottles of Breezers they're selling dirt cheap down the local supermarket, and I'm just looking for an excuse to buy a few bottles. lol ETA: And hey, if the other two MM episodes haven't aired over there yet, I can always bring my copies over. Most videos over here play NTSC, so I assume it's the same over there and yours play PAL, providing they're fairly new.

Wonderful job on the Division!
What a FINE piece of acting! See, if only she'd have gotten
such a chance on Angel and Buffy too. What a waste of her time in waiting so long for a role to be written that didn't make her come off as a shallow person or a ditzy brunette. Possible emmy for a guest star in a dramatic series...that would be kind of a 'take that Joss Whedon', wouldn't it? |

This is how good she was: I watched the show. I got engrossed in all the subplots. I knew the investigating det's were dirty right off. I knew they'd burn. Bonnie Bedelia. What a presence. She's got Yaphet Kottos gravitas. She's the real deal. I'd forgotten how much I LOVE her. Yea! Bonnie. Near Oscar miss for that Formula 1 racing movie you did back in the day! My poor beer-spattered memory, I can't remember the name of that flick. For you 'Brits' (apologies. I know how most of you loathe that term, hence the ''s.) Bonnie is like Jane Tennyson, minus the cigarettes and about 10 years. Totally forgot that CC was on it.
I thought to myself, why don't I watch this show? Oh yeah, 'The Sopranos.' Oh, and look! There's Charisma, doing something crucial. Oh and look! There's Charisma, splitting screen time with Bonnie. Oh and look! There's Charisma, challenging herself - AGAIN. Oh and, yeah. I am watching this show (instead of the Sopranos) because of Charisma. Her performace meshed into the episode, just like it was supposed to. Pitch Perfect. She was not a distraction. She was the actress they chose to do this important guest star role. After this airs, ask the producers if they would like to work with CC again. Any takers on what the response would be???? What a great addition to her CV. She totally informed her performance. "I lose the man I love. I lose my child, something I'd prayed for.'' Charisma went to that place of loss and built a performance. That wasn't 'TV' acting, that was Real Acting. For one thing, the director didn't want 'big' from her. She underplayed her moments so wonderfully - drained, washed out. But here was what got me: They didn't need 'cute' or 'knockout.' They needed 'dramatic.' CC's role could've been played by the actress who plays Adrianna's plain-jane FBI runner on 'The Sopranos.' Beauty, at this point, had NOTHING to do with Emma. Her life, as she knew it, was all long past. So Charisma gave us a woman who'd been cursed because she survived. I just thought: There goes her comedy career. |

I hope she finds a balance between the two. I also had another thought that may be wholesale inaccurate, but she strikes me as one of the few BtVS alums that easily slips into the adult world of acting. AHD, SMG, NB, MT, and ED all still feel like the roles they play are still adolescent in nature. This is less true for the AtS actors, maybe my reaction is more symptomatic of the show styles than the actors. I don't know. ETA: Oh, and Bonnie Bedelia rocks my world! |

So, Her PB ish comes out last week - a non-sexy dramatic role comes out the same week. Again - casting directors get her tape: Cordy, Serena, Emma. You can bet they get the PB shots, too. The more I see, the more I think the 'Next Mary Tyler Moore' isn't so far-fetched, a beautiful, talented comedienne who isn't afraid of serious work; shit, it's already happening. That's why she's getting work more than other Buffy alums. She the 'Next. . .' Quote:

I think it another factor in Charisma's not being type cast as younger is because of the perception of Cordelia on ATS. The ATS cast has always had a greater sense of maturity, you felt like you were watching adults dealing with problems instead of teenagers (which was the overwhelming feeling on ATS, even until the end) so the media perceived her as an actress with experience playing more mature parts and thus she gets cast in them...also, you know, it's Charisma.

DB and CC are both 34 Nicky is 33 Emma C is 31 AlyH and Seth G are 30 SMG is 27 To be honest I think it's a stretch for any of them to try and play under late 20's none of them look like teens or early 20's.
