Psychosis (née Vivid) General Discussion
Red Sparrow flies with 'Vivid'
Psychological horror stars Charisma Carpenter By ARCHIE THOMAS LONDON — Fledgling U.K. production company Red Sparrow has announced its first project, “Vivid,” a $1.2 million budgeted psychological horror set in the English countryside. The pic will star Brit thesp Ricci Harnett (“Rise of the Footsoldier”) and San Diego Chargers’ cheerleader-turned-actress Charisma Carpenter, who starred in TV series “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” and “Angels.” Justin Hawkins, former outrageous frontman of The Darkness who is perhaps known best for his revealing jumpsuits, will also star in the Reg Traviss (“Joy Division”) film, which is produced by Red Sparrow principal Patrick Fischer and fully financed via private equity. The pic about a New York novelist (Carpenter) who relocates to rural England, only to be rejected by the mistrustful locals and plagued by horrific visions of a massacre at her country manor, will film in London and Somerset. http://www.variety.com/article/VR111...goryid=13&cs=1 |

I would love to see her dump the sci-fi/horror movies and do some comedy, get her own sitcom. But then again, I'm just happy she's getting some work and we might get to see her again. Beggars can't be choosers.

I like a good gothic horror movie every now and again, so maybe this'll be interesting.
But you're right, Liv, she needs to dump Sci-Fi/horror and head towards comedy. That's where she shines. |

Ugh, this is second attempt to make a reply go through.
Agreed, chica. However, during these times I guess money is money. I'm sure CC's just glad she's working. Plus, she gets to film overseas! I hope she kicks ass through pilot season and gets lucky. Like samsmom said, comedy is where she shines. I'll defintely check this movie out.

At least there's no mention of a coma or an inappropriate sexual relationship, so one step up.

In a perfect world CC would have her own sitcom, preferably with Mark Sheppard. At this point, I'll take what I can get and I'll take a horror movie more than a crappy Lifetime movie any day So, yay for Charisma getting more work!

Wouldn't you think Charisma's cheerleading days are long enough ago that she wouldn't be described as a "San Diego Chargers cheerleader-turned-actress"?

"only to be rejected by the mistrustful locals"
As a "Brit" I view this with some trepidation! |

This sounds very similar to a Lifetime movie but it was set in Ireland (I think). The "author" had dreams about a murder, though, and not a massacre. But I guess it doesn't count if you're ripping off a Lifetime movie (which probably ripped off a Sci-Fi or USA movie in the first place).
And we can be grateful she's an American in Britain and doesn't have to try an accent. As I recall, she's not really very good at that. ;P |

Maybe they could do a movie together where they have horrible fake accents. |

All these articles say the budget is 1,200,000 dollars.
IMDB lists it as 1,500,000 POUNDS (estimated). A much better figure. CC is not listed YET. All the present info was entered Jan 6th. I'm wondering if this is a theatrical or TV movie, and if TV, is it being made for British TV and how long it'll be before we see it?

Found an article on the movie at Arrowinthehead.com. Here it is below. Actually, I think it's the same Variety article on the movie. But if you wanna see a couple pics of Charisma looking absolutely smoking...
http://www.joblo.com/arrow/index.php?id=15260 Sounds to me like the sort of movie that might get released theatrically in Europe, particularly England, but be direct to DVD in the US. |
