TV Trivia Scavenger Hunt
With Gold Rush going on over at AOL, I thought it might be fun to play a trivia game where you didn't have to give up a bunch of demographic information to play. There's a pretty deep bench of TV mavens here, so why don't we have a trivia hunt?
In keeping with ST custom, there are very few rules: 1. You can use any TV series, miniseries, or movie as long as it began life as a TV series, miniseries, or movie. (Theatrical films that have played on TV, somewhere, don't count.) 2. Googling is allowed! 3. If you can answer without Googling, great -- but if you find the answer on a Web site, please leave us a link. 4. When you answer a question correctly, leave another question in its place. Try not to make it so obscure that it won't turn up on a Web search (e.g., convention small talk from a network executive or what have you). Here's a Q to get started: Doomsville and Aloha, Mars were among the working titles of this former Fox series. Under what name was it finally broadcast? Go for it!

Next question When the FOX network premiered in 1986, it had only one show on its roster. What was that show? Last edited by ontheedge; 10-10-2006 at 12:09 AM. |

The Late Show with Joan Rivers
Next Question: There were five spin-offs to All in the Family. Name them. (Bonus: Name the spin-offs of the spin-offs).

Maude (Good Times)
The Jeffersons (Checking In*) Archie Bunker's Place Gloria 704 Hauser Street* *Needed web help for these answers only, found here. Couldn't find any records of additional spinoffs. On Gilligan's Island, everyone is familiar with "Ginger Grant" and "Thurston Howell III". List the full names of the other five shipwreck survivors.

• Jonas Grumby, the Skipper • Professor Roy Hinkley • Eunice Wentworth "Lovey" Howell • Mary Ann Summers • Willy Gilligan (disputed, but the name Willy was mentioned in conceptual material) I hope this is correct! New question: Most MST3K fans know that before he got blasted into space, Joel Robinson (Joel Hodgson) worked at Gizmonic Institute ("just another face in a red jumpsuit"). What was the Institute's full name?

The Racheal.....played by Jennifer Anniston
Question: What western show starring Lee Horsley had two titles. The first one found politically uncorrect and was changed? Name both titles.

The answer ya quitters is "Guns of Paradise" to later be changed to just "Paradise". Let's try this one: Little House on the Prairie had two sets of real life siblings.....can you name EITHER of them? lol Both would be nice

I found this but I couldn't find or figure out why "Guns of Paradise" was politically incorrect (or any reason for changing the title other than it was retooled for that season so they changed the title). So I didn't think that was the answer.

But then again, I don't see anyone changing the name of the Guns of Navarone to just "Navaraone". Then again, those were literal guns, while I think Lee Horsley's guns were metaphorical.

What's politically incorrect about guns? Literally guns?!? I must have been under a rock to miss the debate about how having the word "guns" in a title corrupted or insulted people. |

New question: Elizabeth Montgomery became a TV icon as Samantha Stevens in "Bewitched" -- yet she was not the first choice for the role. Which actress turned down the part before Montgomery got it?
