Julie Benz in new movie on Lifetime.

Monday, Aug.28, Julie Benz will be in a new movie on Lifetime called Circle of Friends. Here is the description.

Maggie returns to her hometown to dedicate a scholarship in her late husband's name. While there, she reconnects with old friends and comes to believe that her husband's death is tied to the mysterious deaths of several old classmates. Starring Julie Benz.

You know, we should start making bets about when/if certain ME stars will be in movies on Lifetime or Lifetime Movie Network. Although, who's left, at least among the females? Michelle Trachtenberg already did one. And Juliet Landau was in one last year. Just imagine Dru dressed in business suits, and being all competant and Southern.

Never was a big fan of JB or Darla but good for her. Still can't stand Lifetime Movies

Lifetime movies are a guilty pleasure of mine. I blame my mother. I grew up watching movies like that with her. Now, we're both pretty much addicted to Lifetime and Lifetime Movie Network.

I'll admit, the older movies, the ones essentially made for other networks do have a guilty pleasure appeal. It seems that the more recent movies, made directly for Lifetime in the last 2-3 years have lost all appeal.

If you're such an avid viewer, did you happen to catch this one? Innocent Victims I watched the first 2 or 3 hours but missed the end. I have no idea who did it!

I just saw that again recently, but I wasn't really focussed on it. However, this is how it was resolved, in case you want to know.

spoiler >>>>There were witnesses who claimed to have seen the suspect in the area where the murder occured. But, apparantly, there was a guy who looked just like the suspect (same hair color, same build, mustache) who regularly walked in that same area at night, so it might have been him the witnesses actually saw the night of the murder. The police and prosecuters knew about this guy from the very beginning but didn't tell the defense about him. And, apparantly, thought they'd never have to since the guy was planning to move a few weeks later. But the defense found him, put him on the stand, and blew holes in the prosecutor's case. Thanks to that, and lots of other factors that weren't quite so dramatic, the suspect was found not guilty.<<<< spoiler

And, I agree, the newer movies, especially those made specifically for Lifetime, aren't as good as the older films they've bought from other networks.

Oh, that was kind of a let down, I think I was hoping for something more dramatic, like the husband did it Thanks for the information

Well, it was based on a true story and, while these movies do tweak "actual events" to make them more dramatic and interesting, I think they usually stick to the basic facts. In this case, I don't think the actual killer was ever caught.

I wouldn't mind catching this. I caught an episode of Diagnosis Murder the other day with Julie in it and it reminded me howm uch i liked her. Shame it'll only be shown on an American channel.
