Buffy hits the theatre?

I was just checking out scifi.com when I came across one of their news briefs. Apparently a San Fran based outfit called CounterPulse is doing a production of "Once More With Feeling." It's apparently already been mentioned on the Zap2it website.

Has this already been posted? Anybody else find this...odd?

I read this too; but I don't think it's all that weird. Look at how many movies are being turned into stage plays, and how many H'wood actors are Broadway bound (Eliza Dushku, for one).

Anyway, I heard that most of the performances ( in a very limited run) are already sold out, so more power to 'em!

I'm sure having a cast where everyone can sing and dance will enhance the performance.

There's also a history of TV shows & specials going to Broadway like Charlie Brown & the Brady Bunch.

I hadn't heard of a Brady Bunch play, but I've seen the Charlie Brown production.

I can't feel sorry for them. IMO, anyone involved in theatre and/or dance is fully aware that license fees have to be paid to do any material not original to the group. Their claim of ignorance is ridiculous unless they really are that naive. I'm sure they thought they could glide under the radar and have a nice, money-producing event which they may have been able to do if they hadn't put it on the net.

Well that's pretty freakin' stupid on Fox's part.

Work out some licensing and all and let 'em do it! It just prolongs the show's profile and if it's fan friendly, let them have fun and get your cut, jingle jingle jingle.
