Ditto - Patrick Swayze Dies

Rest in peace, Patrick.

Patrick Swayze, the movie star whose iconic roles in Dirty Dancing and Ghost transcended and the man whose perseverance in the face of advanced cancer inspired, died today in Los Angeles. He was 57.

Ohhhhhhhh, no.

Sigh.

Even though we knew it was coming, it still hurts.

Peace on his soul and on his family.

Very sad, I really hoped he'd make it.

Knowing it was coming isn't stopping my tears this morning. Patrick was a dream of a man and I enjoyed everything he did. I first saw him in the mini-series "North and South" as Orry Main.....loved him instantly and never stopped. Sleep in the arms of Jesus Patrick

Unhappy

Ghost and Titantic are the only two movies that ever made me cry. Swayze kicked ass and cut a rug. He managed to bring a modern take on Fred Astaire and John Wayne. He will be missed by all.

That's really a fantastic description. I've read memorials to him, and they all highlight that he was both very masculine but had a graceful and perhaps soft inner core.

I hope his wife is doing well. They were sweethearts since their teens, so I can only imagine that she's devistated.
