does CC even still want the part now that asshat is director? SHE may not want to work with him ever again.

and i'm sorry, i like ED but she is not princess material, she's too rough and unrefined.

You know, I really don't think that's the case any more. Look how many big name/famous/successful movie stars have made the transition to TV. I know several years ago there was a huge gap between TV Star/Movie Star and it almost seemed impossible to move "up". Now, not so much. It seems that the gap has slimmed down quite a bit.

Back on topic, I agree with your earlier assesment that CC reading for the role is most likely a result of her working relationship with Silver on VM. It's most likely nothing more than professional curtesy but if her managment/agent are good enough it could get more/other work thrown her way.

Yeah, what was that about?

But what about Jennifer Garner? And Jen Aniston? And Julianne Moore?

The keyword is "successful" though.
I don't think any of the three have had major successes; maybe each has has a moderate success or two but no big hits there- at least, none that they are responsible for.

Garner has had many more flops than hits; Aniston has made a ton of unmemorable films, and Moore is more of a critics' darling than a box office draw.

And, I think it is still difficult for an actor associated with a long-running television series to cross over into film, though maybe not as hard as it used to be.

Dushku, hmm? I bet she'll really go after the role; it's her best shot at reviving her career, which is somewhat moribund right now. I could see her as Diana, although I suspect it will go to an unknown (and a very young unknown) in the end. A Summer Glau type, because that seems to be what Whedon prefers.

Agreed. I look at this as reading between the lines. Silver's happy with her work, sees her as a plus on the second season, on the set in general and was friendly enough to extend the courtesy - because it's a role Charisma has actively sought. Whether or not that's to be is sort of immaterial. She's working now, and she's attracting the kind of people she needs in her life to take her to that next level. It's a sign of that, more than a serious look for WW at this point.

IMO.

Gotta step in here - no way you can legitimately argue that Julianne Moore hasn't successfully transitioned to film. The woman is a multiple Oscar nominee, and consistently lands roles (including leading roles) in major motion pictures. Is she the most bankable star in the world? Maybe not, but that's hardly the only criteria for arguing whether or not an actor or actress is successful. Moore has serious film credibility.

Mischa Barton? The girl's beautiful but Wonder Woman she is not...

I adore Eliza Dushku but I'm gonna add another "Oh, for crap's sake!" to the thread...

Completely random, but...

Whedon: Oh yeah. At least in my first draft she will. Not only that, but it will not be campy. This is not cheesy. This is not camp. There is a very specific reason why this woman has a plane and you can’t see it. It’ll be awesome.
Christ on a stick, this is gonna be the next Daredevil.

Maybe it's a very good thing that CC is not involved in this...
