JAR join the cast of "Conviction"

He will be a lawyer in the new Dick Wolf's series (JAR on a suit..........hmmmmmmmmm)
Quote:
Variety reports that Dick Wolf has finalized casting for his new NBC series "Conviction." In addition to Richards, Stephanie March ("Law & Order: SVU") and Jordan Bridges ("Mona Lisa Smile") join the cast. Richards will play a snobby attorney trying to claw his way to the top. "Conviction" won't be a straight procedural, but rather a "charactercedural." While March will be reprising her role as Alex Cabot, "Conviction" won't bear the L&O monkier

So this is what they hinted at when they talked about Wolf having other L&O options after NBC canned TBJ.

While I'm thirlled to see the return of Alex Cabot, I'd rather have her back on SVU. I might give this a shot, depending on how it looks.

What I find interesting is that that blurb didn't state that Alex was still a prosecutor.

Is it possible that this is from the defense angle?

Good question, I managed to fall asleep during Alex's return to SVU so I have no idea in what condition the character was left. IIRC she supposedly took the little boy back into Witness Protection with her. If she's still in Protection, how can she be a DA or even Alex Cabot?

The article over at tv.zap2it.com states it's about "young DA's" and will delve more into their personal lives.

Yes, when she returned and with her testimony and the little boy's one the killer was found guilty, at the end the SVU squad was waiting for her to celebrate. In her place appeared the U.S. Marshall (Mitch Pillegi) saying that she had another name and location now, so she couldn't be there with them.

Maybe Alex's new identity is a lawyer too. But since the original problem was with the Narcos, they can't be that obvious with her new identity..... But this is T.V. and anything is possible.! Anyway I like more the actual D.A. of SVU than her. And I'm glad for JAR. Now if we can found a good role for a certain georgeous brunette that can play a great lawyer.... (I think CC is great material for a D.A.)

You mean the one now, Casey Novak as played by Diane Neal?

Because she was the actual D.A. of SVU long before Casey ever appeared. Casey was her replacement (although Diane Neal did play a defendant in a case where she was part of a bachelorette party that gang-raped its stripper).

I was quite amused when I first caught that eppy in re-run. I have toadmit that I really didn't like Casey when she first joined the show but she has grown on me in recent eps. Still prefer Alex

Both are quite hot.

No ugly women on that show.

That's not quite my reason for liking them but, to each their own.

Heh. Having gone to law school, the legal part of the show isn't fun for me.

Watching the hotties is.

What?! How the heck is that possible? I mean, if they get Alex out of witness protection somehow, shouldn't it be a big deal on SVU? I'm confused. I don't know how they expect to pull that off. It would feel really strange knowing that Alex Cabot is herself again, trying cases and all that, but not with SVU. But then again, I love Casey Novak, so I guess I'm okay with Alex not coming back to SVU. Oh, it's all so sad and confusing.

But good for Stephanie March! And great news for JAR! A spot on a Dick Wolf production is a pretty freakin' sweet position to be in, "Trial By Jury" notwithstanding. So good for him.

Oooh, would there be crossovers?
