I was wondering if anybody could tell me the background to this picture. Was it a publicity shot for Season 3, magazine shoot...?

It's a manipulation. He didn't pose with CC but with a model. Cordy's head is just pasted on. Here's the original picture (thanks to Setje and boreanaz.net for the pic)...

It would have been nice if that were a publicity photo for AtS.

But then that would have meant that ME was fully committed to C/A.

But then that would have meant that they were putting the kibosh on B/A once and for all.

So of course that was never going to happen.

But the manip is lovely, just beautiful.

Lara said she drove past a billboard once with an image of Cordy and Angel - Angel was looking straight ahead and Cordelia had one hand on his chest, holding a knife or stake or something and looking straight ahead too.

DAMN, I would've loved to have seen that...

im sure i once heard that db had a wife previous to jamie? and i remember seeing this pic and that was supposed to be his wife....

Not sure about the second part of your question but DB was married before Jaime - from '97 to '99, he was married to Ingrid.....Quinn, I think her last name was. She wasn't in 'the business'.

The model of the pic posted by DamnSkippy is Adriana Lima and the photoshoot was "Angel at my table" from US Glamour Aug 2000 with a total of 9 pics (?), I don't remember.
